Just had the most amazing Full English Breakfast! The fried eggs were spot on, perfectly seasoned so no need for extra salt and pepper. The toast from locally baked bread was already buttered just right. And the bacon—crispy and perfect. Usually, when you think about whether a breakfast was the best you've ever had, it’s hard to say yes. But this time? Absolutely yes. If you're looking for a perfect Full English, this is as close as it gets in my opinion...you’ve got to check this place out!

Came in today for lunch to be ignored whilst there was tables available. Asked to wait at the bar which we were happy to do. Meanwhile new customers were shown to tables that were available. No staff showing attention to customers. Left and went elsewhere

Nice place, but I’ve been in for take-away hot drinks recently and the prices are insane. £4+ for a hot chocolate or a latte, which is more expensive than Manchester City centre.

Absolutely appalling service. Upon arrival they immediately took our drink order. When they brought the drinks we were then informed we couldn’t order food yet due to a backlog in the kitchen. I had then finished my drink by the time we could order food. When ordering we were advised it would be 25 mins for food to come. 50 minutes later, the food was eventually brought to the table. I could visibly see the pass and the food was ready for at least 10 minutes before someone bothered to bring it over. In the 50 mins between ordering and receiving the food, not once did a single waitress care to ask if we wanted any additional drinks. Also, within this time frame, a table was seated next to us, and had eaten their entire meal all within the time we were waiting for our food. This really topped off the experience as they didn’t come over to us once within this time frame. When the food did eventually arrive, it was brought to us with no apology that we had waited double the time we were advised. No consideration for if we wanted any further drinks considering we had then been in the cafe for over an hour. Nobody bothered to come over to check all was ok with the food either. After finishing the food, we waited for a few minutes with no sign of anyone coming to clear the table. We then decided we would just get up and pay as we had had enough of the place at this point. They didn’t even ask when paying if everything had been alright. They desperately need a rejig of the front of house staff. It’s really simple customer service to apologise for a long wait, check back whilst eating to ensure everything is ok, or at the very least when people are paying. The staff seem completely unbothered that there are paying customers sat visibly becoming irritated. If we had known the food would take 50 mins we would’ve left it.

Sad to see this gem of a place go down hill over the last couple of years... I have always loved sitting out on the terrace.. I went today and came away feeling that the staff had been really difficult with me and it was a really frustrating experience. I don't think I've ever written a negative review on Google before and think that should say something! I went around lunch time today and rightly or wrongly I popped my head around the back gate to gauge how busy it was before going in to ask for a table - there was over half the tables completely free (I even took a picture to show my wife how empty it was - attached). I went round the front and they told me that there weren't any tables available which I was a tad confused about but said not to worry I'd go elsewhere. When I was leaving the main entrance, 4 people were leaving out of the side exit and I thought I'd nip back in to check if those tables were now free. The assistant manager I felt was deliberately hard work with me and made me wait inside for 20 minutes before allowing the young waitress to show me to the outside table that had been free the whole time (one of about 7 or 8 free tables..). I had a very very minor grumble to the waitress on my way out. Next thing I know is the bolshy assistant manager appears at my table accusing me of upsetting her staff, which felt a huge over reaction. I tried to explain my point as a customer about why I had felt frustrated, but it fell on deaf ears and I continued to receive a barrage of reasons why I was wrong. I checked in with the waitress to double check I hadn't upset her and I left my contact details to speak to the owner to provide some feedback.

Really lovely dinner at Libby’s. We sat outside and they put the cover on for us just in case it rained. Service was fantastic, really attentive and friendly. However sometimes it could be a while before one of the waiters came outside - would recommend them doing regular spot checks on the terrace in case anyone needs anything after food is served. The food was yummy! Good quality and lovely flavours. However I think for the price portion sizes should be bigger as they were much smaller than we expected. Terrace is lovely and would go again

Had lunch here for a special occasion and was disappointed. The food wasn’t good, the bread was so tough we couldn’t chew it and in the area where we were sat, the leather seat had a huge hole with dirty foam showing, which was off putting. Maybe good just for coffee or tea.

Having two young kids, they can be impatient at the best of times but the drinks and food are always brought out quickly and the cooked breakfast I had has been piping hot and a good size. There’s a good fresh selection of pastries and cakes to keep you nice and full as well. Would certainly go there again.

If you want to be served by a 16 year old and pay £5.50 for a croissant then go here! The owner tried to justify putting prices up so much saying bills had risen and that he paid his staff a fair wage. If that is the case then why do you need to employ cheap labour in the form of under 18's ?

Awful full English breakfast. Cold sausages, lukewarm beans. The weirdest black pudding. I'm all for artisan food and "posh variants" of things like black pudding, I've eaten plenty. But this was neither. It tasted like it was expiring. For a £15 breakfast you really have to raise your game. EDIT: Worst type of owner. Fair criticism is the fault of the customer! Dropped service rating to 1⭐ for customer-blaming bad attitude. You believe the onus is on the customer to QC your food, provide immediate feedback and that negative experiences should be censored from Google? I didn't come out for breakfast to engage in an unpaid feedback loop with you and your staff on how to raise your standards. If you charge £15 for a breakfast that is so subpar then you deserve the rating you get. I don't write reviews to randomly smackdown honest, hardworking business owners as seems to be the tenor of your reply. I write them to ensure paying customers get quality and value. It's my view that Libby's is falling short of these standards. if you don't like that then fix the criticisms and there won't be an issue. Like I said, raise your game.

I have been going to Libby’s since it opened, probably over ten years ago. The food is excellent, the staff lovely. I unfortunately tend not to come anymore because the WIFI is intermittent, and after many years remains unreliable for anyone wanting to work from here. I hadn’t come for around 2 months, because of this issue and working from other cafes and venues with reliable internet. Lo and behold less then half an hour into my visit, the internet/wifi goes down and as of writing this it is still unavailable. Just a warning to anyone who wants to work remotely from here, bring a 5G hotspot or similar.

This was my 2nd visit to Libby’s, after an enjoyable first visit I wanted to treat my Mum to breakfast here however was overall disappointed and won’t be back in a hurry. We arrived at around 1.30pm on Sunday, so had missed the morning rush. We waited a long time for 3 soft drinks, and I could annoyingly see the drinks ready on a tray at the end of the bar, however about 4 members of staff walked past them (who didn’t look busy) before we eventually were served. Another table left after waiting too long for their coffees. Food was fine, however the waiter served us 1 plate of food and when we answered yes to some sauce he went off for 5 minutes getting sauces, and left the other 2 plates of food on the pass. Another staff member had to deliver the other 2 plates. It’s pretty basic stuff to serve all hot food to the table before going and getting sauce. As we just started to eat our food, it had just gone 2pm when food service stopped, and the chefs in the kitchen cranked up their music and I had to sit through Soulja Boy which just made the atmosphere really annoying. Conversations in the kitchen got louder with swearing, if you’re going to have an open kitchen with plenty of customers still sat down eating, have a bit more respect. Overall what ruined the experience was the staff and service, although generally friendly it felt like a very young and inexperienced team. There was no sight of anyone really managing the place, as someone who’s worked in hospitality for many years it’s plain to see Libby’s is badly managed, which is a really shame given the location and concept.

Went for an early evening booking 5pm. Ordered some drinks and when asked if we’d like to order we asked for a few more minutes the waitress rolled her eyes to her colleague. Food was great apart from the meatballs which were more like cannon balls. Obviously cooked in advance but were too tough to eat. Still we were having a pleasant evening. At 6.15pm we were told that the table was required back at 6.30pm. We were ok with that despite not being told that at the time of booking and when we were seated at the table. Then 5 minutes later we were told again that our table was needed back. A nice evening tarnished. It feels like there is no front of house managing the the staff maybe some staff training is needed?

Not impressed at all. Our food was late. Another two couples who arrived well after we ordered and paid got served their food first. The girls at the bar didn't seem fussed about it. When our food finally arrived, the toast was burned and we had to take off all the burned bits (most of the bread in a toasty!). We weren't offered any cutlery or tissues, had to go and ask staff to get some. Table wasn't clean when we arrived (there was even a bonus baked bean on it). I understand they get busy, but this was not a great experience at this occasion.

Unfortunately the experience I had at Libby’s was most unpleasant. I attended with friends to what was to be a celebratory reunion dinner. The reunion part was fabulous but the experience at dinner was not! We were ushered away upstairs in what can only be described as an old attic room with a few tables and some old sofas. Once we had ordered drinks (which were only two bottles - nothing complicated) we waited and waited! Eventually being served around half an hour later. Food when it came, was delivered all together and not in the order we had requested. But, the worst point came when I discovered a metal hook in my mouth from one of the dishes - luckily it didn’t break a tooth. To be fair, the manager did offer us a bottle of Prosecco by way of an apology, however this incident is totally unacceptable in a restaurant of this nature and with no explanation. The staff on the whole were perfectly pleasant but very young and therefore seemed very inexperienced and there was no structure to the service. One member of staff however, was extremely rude as he came upstairs and appeared to be taking a photograph of our table. When challenged, he became defensive and was incredibly rude. His behaviour was totally inappropriate and indefensible. I was disappointed with the evening and will not be returning.

A popular venue for Sunday brunch, the opening of tables upstairs gives Libby's lots more space. The bakery is the key to the atmosphere, with a great array of cakes, Danish pastries and bread on the counter as you enter. The menu has a range of typical brunch favourites, maybe a bit limited but ok. With no fresh juices or smoothies, the drinks lack sparkle. Let down by its service. The popular takeout coffee/cake service means that the drinks for sit in customers take as long as the food does, or longer. It also means that after you’ve eaten & you want to pay your bill, you’ll be stood for quite a while being ignored while they try and catch up on drinks orders. Waiting for your drinks is made more frustrating as there’ll be five teenagers standing near the kitchen looking bored or chatting rather than using some initiative to serve the tables/help with cold drinks. Needs a manager to herd them better as they don’t seem to have a lot of initiative. Given it benefit of the doubt in the past as the food was so good, but recently the food standard is falling too & not sure it’s worth going back anymore

We've been frequent customers for some time, it's a great location, it's got a nice vibe and look, but it seems the workers are all kids who have no service skills, do the bare minimum and just stand around chatting while customers are left waiting to be seen. Its completely disorganised, waiting 20 mins for coffee and each visit the food seems to be getting worse. It cannot cope with how busy it is and it's ran inefficiently. Visited a few times over the years .. usually on a weekends. Presentation and cakes are delicious, customer service really poor specially lately when there seems to be many staff but they are lacking on experience and organisation. First issue we had when we wanted one of their famous cinamon bakery.. were told no more left and then the tender made a comment to another customer saying ‘they should have come early’ rude. Second one and we understand can be busy we were left waiting just to heat up a pastry since ordering 20 min and it was a take away order.. Really cute place but shocking customer service. The place is run by kids and feels very cliquey. More training needs to be provided for the staff. We were stood for 5 minutes waiting to be seated, the staff saw us and made eye contact, however they never greeted us or said “we’ll be with you shortly”, we were just left waiting. We finally got seated and ordered a coffee, 25 minutes later… still no coffee, at this point we decided to leave. I definitely would not recommend this place purely down to the extremely poor customer service. I’ve worked in hospitality myself and quality customer service goes a long way… this place does not have that.

We visited on a sunny Sunday morning, were quickly seated and after ten minutes our order was taken. Then we sat and admired our surroundings for 30 minutes before enquiring about our food order (nothing complicated - a full English breakfast and an eggs benedict). We were eventually assured it was on its way. After being there for an hour, we left not having eaten. The open kitchen seemed to be the problem. Despite having dozens of tables, it seems it cannot cope with more than two dishes at a time. That coupled with our waitress's PhD in eye contact avoidance made this an experience not to be repeated. Definitely not recommended.

Decent food. Nice decor. Service is SO hit and miss (more often than not, a miss). The staff are pleasant, just in dire need of proper training.

Cycling through Marple Bridge and came upon this cafe / restaurant, with outdoor seating in a quiet spot in the sun overlooking the river. Friendly welcoming staff & warm atmosphere inside & out. Place to leave our bikes near the outdoor seating. We are vegan so chose the vegan carrot cake and vegan chocolate & mint cake with decaf soya cappuccino. Absolutely delicious. If you are in Marple Bridge - stop here, you won't be disappointed!!

Lovely cafe and restaurant! Staff are polite and friendly, food is delicious! Would recommend the soup and the hummus plate, also the baked goods are gorgeous. I go here often when popping into Marple for a walk. Always enjoy a visit to Libby's 💙

We took part in the pub quiz, which was extremely fun. There are 3 different rooms that are quite unique and cozy. There is also a pool table and darts. The owners are lovely people and made us feel very welcome. If you are looking for a good pub, definitely give Blossoms a try
