We stumbled upon South Seven after Libby's, next door but one, was shut. This was at 4.30pm and Libby's wasn't opening until 5pm (Tier 3 times). South Seven was recommended by a staff member in The Midland, opposite, as we only wanted a coffee. Well the coffee was great; as South Seven's machine wasn't working, they went through the back and got it from Libby's anyway! What's nice about Marple is the sense of mutual proprietor community - the staff member from The Midland making the recommendation and Libby's helping out South Seven.

We really enjoyed our meal at South seven, the atmosphere was great with big diner style tables and good music playing, and the food was delicious. We really enjoyed the nachos and the beef with soy dipping sauce as particular highlights. Great value too. we will definitely be back!

Been here many times over the years, and this was the first time we left hungry. The menu choice has reduced, most notably with the removal of any dirty fries. Our burgers were cold, the restaurant itself is cold as nothing has been done to stop the repeated draft from the front door. Lastly most staff were doing their best in the new coronavirus times, chairs and tables were cleaned down and waiters wore masks. Sadly groups of friends were welcomed despite this being illegal, and a member of staff who stayed behind the bar chose not to wear a mask.

As always spot on. Smaller menu due to covid. Doesn’t deflect from the managers attempts to keep it spot on and interesting. Enough said.

First visit in 12 months and after a few disappointing meals last year I thought I’d chance it again as surely recent feedback would be taken on board. Unfortunately not. Once considered this my favourite place for a burger but South Seven is now a shadow of its former self.The menu was much smaller and missing some of the old classics. The prices are high without the food quality to match. Nachos could be made better at home, fries were tasteless and the burger very unimpressive. That’s all that needs to be said.

Visited last night with 2 of my sons. Impressed by the refurb, the more spacious new layout and the new river terrace out at the back. Have been really keen to try out the new menu and it didn’t disappoint. Between us we ordered a mountain of food including chicken strips, deep fried king prawns, smoker burger, sea bass, ribs, halloumi fries, onion rings and chips. It all arrived at exactly when you’d want it and piping hot. The fact that we managed to wolf down the whole lot is testament to how nice it was. My youngest said that the salted caramel shake was the nicest thing he’d ever had! Service was fantastic. Current opening hours don’t allow for the government funded discounts in August. But it’s highly recommended, especially if you’ve not been before or haven’t been in since the refurbishment and new menu.

The table hadn’t been cleaned, no social distancing measures in place. Was bought cutlery but no napkins. Ordered 2 starters arrived fine, not much to them though, but the mains started arriving before the starter plates removed. No other cutlery bought to the table, turned out the mains were wrong, didn’t bring all the sides out together, had to send one burger back because it wasn’t what was ordered, waited for the correct one whilst my partners went cold, was then bought the wrong burger the second time, finally bought the sides but still not the correct burger, so I complained which resulted in another customer having a go at me for ruining her night, so I retaliated, she then continued to slyly verbally abuse me for 10 minutes, the manager had a ring side view of this so I do not know how he did not notice but chose to single me out, I suppose that was because I dared to complain about the food being wrong and refusing to pay. Anyway it resulted in an altercation between me and the other customer who had decided to interfere and antagonise me, a fact which the manager chose to ignore, we were asked to leave which was fine as I’d already refused to pay and was leaving anyway. Needless to say I won’t be going back or recommending this farce of a place to a friend. I’m just hoping I’ve not caught COVID due to no social distancing or basic hygiene, absolute disgrace. Even had the nerve to say they’d worked hard to open, no evidence of this, basically just opened their doors on a reduced menu. Not even any basic cleanliness never mind the extra stringent COVID measures they should have had in place

I was super excited to come here to celebrate my birthday with my partner, but I really wish I went somewhere else than waste my time and money coming here. We booked a table for half 8 over a week beforehand, and arrived at 8:25 to be told it would be a 15 minute wait. It was extremely busy so I wasn’t too bothered and was more than happy to wait at a small table by the window with a drink whilst we waited. Half an hour later, we were still waiting and finally was told by a very snotty member of staff (I think she was a supervisor) we would be seated soon at 9pm. It’s worth mentioning as well that we had to wait 15 minutes for a Desperado and a coke (which they did in the end knock odd the bill for the wait). And the coke came in a filthy glass which we had to send back and wait for it to be replaced. At 9:10, we were FINALLY seated at our very sticky and wonky table. We were pleased that our order was taken fairly quickly with the startera on our table (delivered by the snotty girl who seemed to have a problem with us even though we had waited forever for our table) within 10 minutes and it was very tasty. I had popcorn shrimp whilst my partner had the bbq wings. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the main course. My boyfriends bacon burger looked like it had been tossed together and my rib eye stake was really fatty and a medium rather than medium rare and was absolutely not worth £22!! Not to mention it was cold, I was so disappointed as I had heard great things!! I really wouldn’t encourage any of my friends and family to come here as I feel like it seriously isn’t worth the money. I wish we had left and gone elsewhere when the half an hour mark had gone by as I have left feeling really unsatisfied. Maybe they were having a bad evening as it was super busy, but a little bit of kindness shown for the staff would have made up for that but we didn’t even receive that.

Went in to the restaurant and booked a table for 4 people an hour before we dined as we were drinking in a pub down the road. I'm grateful they could fit us in with such short notice. Sat in one of the booths and had a lovely meal with great, friendly service. The Farmyard and Smoker burgers got lovely reviews, and the surf & turf was amazing. I had the BBQ quesadillas which were great, accompanied with the brisket chilli fries which were to die for! The mac and cheese was amazing too - so cheesy!Only downside to the meal was that the Guinness tasted fruity/metallically but we were told that this was because the barrel was empty. No bother though as we were swiftly offered an alternative drink.Meal for 4pax with 2 alcoholic drinks and 2 soft drinks came to ~£90 with 10% tip - which for the amount of food we had was excellent value.Unsure how the previously and recent reviews have been so poor - we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back. Thanks South Seven! 5 stars from us.

We normally visit once a month but I’m afraid the past couple of times it’s gone down hill. Main issue was the burger buns, really chewy and tasteless.

Décor matched the food. It looked like a time-warped country pub (wood panelling) with stuffed animals on the walls (deer,'s head etc), with what looked like a jail at the end of the restaurant. Latrines were disgusting. Waitress disinterested preferring to goggle at the lads they flirted with at the bar. Half the food was left & no interest as why most of the fries were left & buns uneaten. She did a fly-by 'how's your food' as she whisked by not wanting to hear our answer. Didn't start off well as even before we ordered, a roll of kitchen was chucked on the table with the finesse of sumo ballet dancer.Plenty of other better places to eat on Town Street.

Friends of ours go here quite often so thought I’d give it a go. It wasn’t very busy when we arrived but still had to wait for a drink - not the end of the world. However we eventually had to ask if we could order our food and were asked to wait a little while longer as they had some orders to get out for ‘over the road?’ We eventually got to order food after we’d finished our first round of drinks!! The food was nice, but the chicken burger barely warm, by this time my husband was so hungry there was no way he was sending it back and waiting even longer! The staff were nice and friendly and apologetic for the wait, there simply wasn’t enough of them, 2 guys cooking the burgers. Also the wine was priced at £5.50 per glass but charged £6 each. Couldn’t be bothered questioning we’d been there long enough. It’s not cordon bleu it’s a burger place albeit a nice one I won’t be rushing back.

Uninterested and lacklustre staff and the quality of meat was poor - appalling value for money. Fantastic music, good selection of drinks; perhaps the DJ and chef swapped roles on this particular evening.

Have been to South Seven a few times and have always found the staff to be really friendly and helpful. The food has always been tasty too, the portions are quite over-the-top (in a good way) as you'd expect. There are a few vegetarian options which are really nice (the fajita fries are amazing), but you'd soon run out of veggie options after a couple of visits.Good choice of beers on tap and the milkshakes are grand too.

I used to recommend South Seven as one of the best burgers in Manchester/Stockport and take any visiting friends, but the trips now are underwhelming, not bad just not great. The burgers seem smaller and not as tasty, they also did an awesome dish... poutine chips, and pulled it :( I don't think I'll go much again. It's ok mind, used to be a fabulous five now a solid 3.

We went as a family to celebrate the end of a holiday time together. Good choice of drinks with milk shakes for the youngsters and cocktails as well as local craft beer for the adults. Suitable kids meals. The mixed bean nachos was super and the halloumi salad went well with the Quesadillas. With the restaurant fully occupied we expected to wait a while for food and it came well presented. The atmosphere was pleasant with good music.

Been here quite a few times over the years it’s sad to say that it’s gone down hill abit, The burgers and the chips are still nice don’t get me wrong but just nothing like they used to be. Will still visit again though as there’s no other restaurant quite like it around the area and that’s what makes it special. Just think quality is decreasing while prices are increasing.

A group of 6 of us tried to book a table on a Saturday night and were told that we could not book (despite seeing online that they have a minimum 6 person booking policy). On the phone the girl said that we could still go to the restaurant and that they would seat us as soon as they could. We live in stockport and made the 25min drive to marple to come to south seven which was a huge mistake.

The food in this place amazing we had a perfectly cooked steak and quesadillas but we very nearly walked out as we waited over half an hour waiting to be served drinks and the restraunt was not even half busy

What little gem this olace is.. you have to book but no issues for me. the service and the food was awsome,, and believe me we ate alot, the portions are huge,, great price would i go again ?? definitely.. big thumbs up from me..

Recently had our first visit at South Seven and the food was lovely. We had starters & mains both of which had lots of flavour and came in good time. Side of fries is enough for 2 adults to share, with it being our first time we didn’t know this and ended up ordering 1 each so left a lot of them. Kids meals are big too. Will defiantly be back at some point.

We popped in on the off chance on a Saturday evening only to discover it was fully booked. However, we were given the option of eating at the bar or having a quick meal at one of the reserved tables.

Visited last week, first time for me. We all loved the food. Struggled to choose from the menu purely because everything sounded fantastic, including the sides. The menu isn't huge but had meat, fish and veggie burger options (with toppings) and chips with a great selection of toppings. I thought the dessert menu was a bit lacking which was a shame, there were only about 4 or 5 basic items to choose from. The cocktail menu was a bit strange as it didnt really say what was in the drinks, it just gave a humerous description. Nonetheless, I will definitely be back!

Wasn’t impressed with this place. The menu is limited if you don’t want a burger, the service is awful (had to chase waitress to take both our drinks and food orders), the tables are cramped together with other guests shuffling last your table and food. But to top it off the food wasn’t so enjoyable either, I left the majority of mine. Will try elsewhere when next in Marple.

Been coming here for a long time now and always raved about the food to others, but in the last year I’ve been really disappointed. Changed some of the recipes for the worse in my opinion (popcorn shrimp), took burritos off the menu which were my fave, service has really taken a nose dive and most recently prices have been hiked. Such a shame... not sure it will stop me coming back as it’s close to home and still pretty decent compared to local places, but won’t be a regular and will hesitate to recommend with such lazy service ☹️

Family of 4 visited for the first time and had great food and service. We booked a table for early Friday evening and glad we did as it was busy when we arrived, we were warmly greeted and shown to a table, the service continued to be friendly and helpful. We ordered some starters and mains, we didn't have to wait too long for the starters, I had hot chicken strips, they were really tasty and much larger than had at other places. The mains continued the theme and the burgers and topped fries we had were great as were the ribs - although in hindsight we probably didn't need to order so much food as the portion sizes are very generous. Great food and friendly service, would definitely recommend a visit.

Popped in with a friend for cocktails and burgers and this place didn’t disappoint.

Both myself and extended family have been visiting regularly since S7 opened. Huge variety of drinks in the bar, vast American based menu. Since opening S7 has actually acted as a catalyst for the new bistro/bar scene in Marple. I've written this review as I'm actually sad to see some other establishments ranked above S7 on trip advisor.

I have been a regular customer at South Seven for a couple of years. The burgers are always amazing - especially the hog and steer. I always enjoy my experience as the atmosphere is lively and bustling! I have only given 4 stars however due to the new required fee for chips - now not included with your burger. Its £3 for a larger portion, I think £1 extra per person would be enough. However, this hasn’t altered the amazing quality of the restaurant.

Have visited before but never got round to reviewing. This place is really popular if you want to go at a weekend but I highly recommend going on a Monday, busy but not swamped.

Excellent service from the lovely staff here. Very helpful with our order and very attentive. We had ribs which were falling off the bone and very tasty.

We finally got to South Seven for brunch last week after wanting to go for a long time. It was definitely worth the wait. The food and drinks were spot on. We'll certainly be going back.

Visited on Sunday eve for our pre booked table. Advised on arrival that unfortunately they had no burgers left - note that burgers are around 70% of menu options.(7pm at this point). We sat down anyway to look at other menu options and my wife requested pulled pork on a bun with fries etc. Apologies again as restaurant had also run out of buns.we left and had a lovely meal across the road in the Norfolk.

Fantastic food, great staff, they were all lovely, in and out in an hour even when it was very busy.

I ate here with a friend last week. The menu looked really good and we were looking forward to a good meal and catch up. We chose what we wanted pretty quickly even though everything sounded tasty. It unfortunately took over 20mins for anyone to take our food order despite it not being overly busy, and then it took another 25mins to get the food. If it was really busy then you would expect as wait but it wasn’t anywhere near full. What made it more frustrating was that the empty plates were whipped away from us as soon as we had finished our final mouthful.

First time here and was looking forward to a great meal following some good reviews and other word of mouth.

Visited early January for breakfast & had the Eggs Benedict which was faultless. Will definitely be returning for more! Casual, laid back atmosphere, perfect for a Sunday morning.

Visited a couple of weeks ago. Family had travelled from down south and we had a really nice meal at south seven. I veggie and I gluten free 1 steak and 2 massive burgers there is something for everyone. :)

Went on a Sunday without booking, got straight in. Good service and some smashing cocktails. Would recommend the raspberry daquiri. Cock and hen burger was delicious, and the portions are enough to feed a family.

Visited here with a group of friends and I personally was not impressed. If you like your plate filled with meat & chips and nothing else I.e. salad, vegetables, then this is the place for you. Will not rush back.

Really disappointed with our service at south seven for breakfast today. Have been coming to south seven for a while and love it as a Sunday treat. Brought my sisters this time and have never received such poor service. one of our orders got missed and had to wait 10 minutes by which time the rest of us had almost finished ours. We had to ask for sauces, sugar for the hot drinks and a glass of water twice (no one seemed in any rush to get this for us and was sat on the side of the bar for a while before anyone noticed it was there) it wasn’t even that busy and one girl behind the bar was just treating herself to a hot drink while. It just felt like no one knew that they were doing today? It’s a good job the food was up to the usually high standards.

This was my first visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. From outside it looks a little dark but you receive a really warm welcome. Inside is very rough and ready but the food was tasty and plentiful. Would definitely recommend it for couples, family and friends.

After eating here a couple of times a while a go and absolutely loving it, I thought id come back for my Birthday this year to show it off to other people. The food was still very good, burgers and halloumi fries were so tasty, but the service this time let it down for sure. Our food came before our drinks and we must have waited about 25 mins for food, we told the waiter that we haven’t received them when they brought the food over and he did apologise and bring them to us. We decided to order more drinks half way through our meal and by the time we got them we had finished eating. It wasn’t even a full restaurant, just people standing around, it doesn’t take long to pour a few beers!

I’ve always loved this place but Sunday’s visit wasn’t nice

The food was amazing! Left you feeling full but not stuffed. The sweet potato fries were the best I’ve had and the service was perfect. Fast and brought you whatever you needed.

El menú ha cambiado, por lo que la hamburguesa de cordero que normalmente tengo no estaba encendida. El servicio fue obviamente estirado tuvo que pedir bebidas dos veces y agua tres veces. Bistec ordenado y papas fritas dulces, el bistec estaba cubierto con pimienta que odio (que no decía en el menú) y las papas estaban picantes. Dos de nosotros dejamos las papas fritas porque estaban demasiado calientes y cuando les dije que no podía comer el bistec debido a la pimienta, me informaron que estaba pretemporada y que las papas fritas podían retirarse del precio, pero no las 20. No me impresionó

Second visit but won't be back. Awful so disappointing. Booked online for my son's birthday for 7. Waited 15 mins for order to be taken. Ordered 3 burgers + 1 New York Bagel - not difficult. Warned it might take longer cos of large group. Waited for 37 mins. Burgers in baskets lined with serviettes had shrunk since last visit, buns were dry, hardly any chips. Serviettes ended up in food. My bagel was dry as a bone. Asked for water none came, no serviettes/kitchen roll put on table. Ate quickly as we were starving. 2 large bins used by staff for customers plates near our table were overflowing onto the floor with food and rubbish. No mention of son's birthday. Left hungry and went to Halo in Hazel Grove for our dessert and to finish evening on an up for his birthday!

Can’t complain at all. Reservation is a must as really busy. We had a table for four of us. All the food was nice and came really quick so not much waiting around. Decent beer too and the cocktails looked good. I had the buttermilk chicken , nice size boneless thighs and not dry at all. BIG portion so took some of it home.

The service was very good, food was decent we had a burger from the specials which my girlfriend enjoyed and I had a burger called cock & hen but the chicken was dry ashane tho, the top fries are excellent

If you are into American food then South Seven will be perfect for you. There's loads to choose from on the menu and a huge array of drinks and cocktails as well. We opted for the mix of 3 little burgers with fries, halloumi side salad and the Philly Steak Sandwich with cajun rice. The portions were just right and the food was very tasty. Service was good and the place has a great ambience. Bearing in mind we went on a Monday evening the place was packed so I would recommend booking in advance. Highly recommended.

Great expansive menu, it was incredibly difficult to choose! The food was very tasty and plentiful, you would not go home hungry from this place! The only downside was one of our party ordered the smoker without cheese but it arrived with cheese. The restaurant is only small so booking is advisable! The cocktails were also delicious especially the raspberry and elderflower mojito!

Went in and asked for a table for 2, she went and checked the reservation board fair enough. Couple came in after us got sent right to the last table (no booking). She had literally forgot or was just too up her own bum to care as she chatted with someone at the bar.I Will never eat here again. If you want real American food go to the bun and bones in hazel grove it’s a lot better.

I'm all in for supporting local businesses...but I'm this one an exception. Staff have an attitude that they simply can't be bothered. Think because it's the only type of resteraunt serving this sort of food in the area that they've captured the market...not Good! All the food tastes the same so will not be returning

This is a great place to eat, one of the best in Marple imo. Very good value for money, and a fantastic variety of different meals to choose from. Staff are very friendly and service is always quick. I recommend this to anyone who lives in the area and is looking for an American style diner!

This popular restaurant has a lively ambiance and a menu that looks inviting. Just what Marple Bridge needed.We were a party of 6 looking forward to a meal with an American emphasis. We were all disappointed with our food, Philly steak cheese sandwich (hoagy) nothing like the real thing, Ruben again nothing like, cheeseburgers quite tasteless. We will not be going back.

Visited here over bank holiday and was impressed with the service and the food was excellent. The ribs starter fell off the bone and was very tasty and the popcorn shrimp was lovely. Burgers and specials were all good and the spicy chicken burger was amazing. Try the cocktails to-the Zombie is recommended!!

Phoned to book a table - can't book. Went in and asked for a table - none available as party of 10 booked in. Where's the logic. Didn't recognise any of the staff so assume they've been replaced by incompetents without training in hospitality. Suggest they get their act together as on numerous visits it has been great food and good atmosphere.

Came in on Sunday as a walk in, had friendly staff welcome us even though they were clearly very busy with two large tables. Nothing was too much trouble! Had the special, New York bagel which was absolutely superb! Great value for money as the portions are very generous! Highly recommend the jalapeño & bacon poppers!

We decided to go check this place out after finding the good reviews, and also to see if their take on US/Canadian food was any good.

We have recently moved to the area and had been informed this was a good place to eat. We have been today for our sons birthday and we would highly recommend this restaurant.

Great cocktail menu and very reasonably priced food, managed to spend twice as much on cocktails as food, oops! Great atmosphere, book early online though as very popular. Burgers good quality for the price paid.

We were so excited to eat at south seven after knowing about it for a while. The food was ok but the atmosphere and service was disappointing. We arrived at 4.45 and sat at a booth. It was so cold, we kept our coats on throughout the meal...The ordering was really rushed and the waitress gave us no time to look at drinks menu, we asked for a minute and she swiftly returned - 2 of the draught beers we asked for, weren’t available but we weren’t told. The food was good apart from the milkshakes- which at the price, were really poor! All in all, sadly a 40 minute relatively expensive meal, (especially drinks) in the cold - venue has much more potential and service needs more personality and warmth.

Is it just me or has something changed recently at South Seven, we’ve been plenty of times but this time was just not as good somehow. The food was good but I think the portions were smaller than previously and the menu not as extensive. The desserts left a lot to be desired with only three choices on the menu - and one of those was ice cream! Chocolate brownie was dry and uninteresting. Hope it improves again soon.

I absolutely love the chicken burritos here, I can also confirm that the burgers, starters, nachos & last but definitely not least, the Cocktails are absolutely delicious!! We've never got as far as desserts in the five times I've been to eat. The meals are generous & the cocktails are too good:D

If i had seen the toilets before I had eaten I would not have continued. The restaurant is good and...

So after bigging this place up for months, I decided to finally take my girlfriend for breakfast. The meals weren't...

We were unsure of here when we arrived - dusk and not really lit up from the outside. Totally different inside and quite busy for a monday night. Great bar - lots of draught US beers, with both the summer ale and the Hawaiian excellent. Bob Marley featured heavily on the play list and suited the atmosphere. The booths, seating and lighting take you back to eating out in Florida. Service is efficient, friendly and not fussy - it would have been difficult to have been any better.

Talented chef...was happily sat near the open kitchen and witnessed an organised ,efficient service.Not normally the food i go out to eat but it was delicious. Steak was tender and well rested and burgers ,fries,mac n cheese and chicken were all cooked to perfection and presented well .This type of food is often too heavy but this kitchen managed to retain a freshness that often gets lost in restaurants of this genre. Service was friendly but not overbearing and the ambience was warm and relaxed .The perfect place for an impromptu thursday with friends .Would definitely recommend

Booked here for my oldest sons birthday called in as a family of 4, servered straight away loved the pitchers of coors Ordered Heatwave, Holy cow , cock a hen all burger style meals and a lamb shawarma this was brisket lamb on a flat bread with harissa and tahini

Stunning with a capital St :), this place knocks Reds True BBQ off the planet. Bookings are required to make sure you get in, the food is cooked at the back of the resturant which is on show to you all. The food was amazing i cant say enough about it, the hour night was execellent, service and value. Along witht the ample food choice you can choose from a great cocktail list also the usual beer, wine etc. It would be nice to keep this place a secret but it would be wrong to, you need to go and try this place out for yourselves. Enjoy yo uwill love it :)

Amazing place!!!!! I'm still dreaming about the food now...I ordered a pulled pork burger, chilli chips and a feta salad . Can't wait till our next visit this time with the kids.

Have eaten here many times and the food has always been great. Visited this weekend and whilst the food was good, the service left a lot to be desired. Drinks/cocktails took ages to arrive, one of which should've come to the table on fire had obviously gone out whilst sat on the bar and the staff overall didn't seem that bothered. To cap it all, was told that the table was booked for another sitting whilst still drinking (delayed) last drinks and given 10 minutes to finish up and settle the bill or move to the bar with two children. They have only recently started taking bookings and whilst I appreciate they allocate a period of time for each sitting, I have never been asked to vacate a table before. If they want to get through customers more rapidly, then food orders need to be taken sooner and drinks delivered quicker. The food and drinks aren't cheap and we would even have probably stayed for another drink, but not when being asked to move on!

Very accommodating with children. Great burgers, beer and service. Can get busy. Smoker is definitely the best burger.

Try the Empire State!!! All are good value for money and well thought out. Great drinks and cocktails to accompany the meal as well.

Looks uninspiring from the outside, infact if it wasn't for the fact I was meeting up with 10 other people I wouldn't have entered. Once inside it's a hidden gem, long and narrow with seating for diners at the far end. Staff polite and pleasant. It's basically a fancy burger bar the meals coming out looked amazing if your a total carnivore this is the place for you. I on the other hand don't enjoy meat so I found it a difficult menu although they did do a tuna steak (don't like tuna) I plumped for a portion of fries and a starter ceaser salad, OMG the ceaser salad tasted devine for a little dish it had a big impact on my taste buds. The fries were overdone unanimous agreement by 7 of us, still edible though probably just a personal choice. I most certainly would return as the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. Give it a go .

I've been to South Seven twice and both times it's been amazing! The burgers are juicy and tender and the different flavour combinations are delicious! A must visit if you love burgers!

All the items on the menu are superb. We love it here either with or with the kids! Cocktails are worth a try - especially the flaming one!

The food in the place is mega this isn't the first time we have been. They have just updated the menu and its mega I always go for the empire state burger with topped fries with mac and cheese. Staff are always nice the bar has a mega selection of ales to cocktails. This is the best place in Manchester hands down ! ! !

We visited due to a recommendation, the food was lovely and very quick service. The only downside was it is very small and on some tables you are sat very close to the people next to you.

Decent sized portions loads of options on the menu. Looks like a shop from the outside so you could easily miss it if driving. Loads of free parking just around the corner. No problems here. They dont seem to allow booking so just turn up.

There are many reasons why I visit south seven every time I'm in the area. Amazing food, cocktails, beers, and staff. Also there American style breakfasts on a Sunday are 5*.

Went this week after a gap of about 12 months and the service and buzz was as good as ever. However, the three of us all felt the burgers had changed. I'm sure that when we used to come the patty was nice and thick but they now seem to be using a number of thin burgers to make up the same thickness. Perhaps they cook quicker - who knows. The result was a tad disappointing burger - relative to how it used to be anyway.

Been wanting to try this place with my burgerlout buddies. I was in the area and had an hour in between jobs so thought I'd give it a try. The burgers are amazing and really good fries only £9 for both. It's a bargain and the service was excellent, well worth a visit.

What a disappointing experience trying to book a meal here was .My wife wanted to give me a birthday treat and invited 3 family members along with us. When looking to book,we were told they won't take bookings for less than 6.No explanation as to how or why that particular number is arrived at. However we could take our chances and turn up and see if anything is available, which considering we would have to travel is hardly ideal .Frankly if our money isn't good enough then that's their loss,and to be honest if they are so arrogant and indifferent to the idea of small groups wanting to eat, then it makes me question how good an experience eating here would be. Perhaps they should make it more prominent in their publicity that you can only book if 6 or more is the case to save others feeling as let down as we all did.

Came here for the first time on Friday eve with my husband and will be back. Great food and atmosphere, comparable to somewhere you would go to in the city centre. The cocktails were also lovely.Quick service and we were sat down within ten minutes also even though it was busy. Would recommend!

The last time we visited South Seven ad a family we loved the food and atmosphere. Since then I have tried to book for special birthdays and family visitors and have been refused a booking because there were less than 6 of us. We were told to come along and if there was no room we would be told when we arrived. This is useless for special occasions. I have now given up eating g here bacause they are simple not accommodating for families of less than 6. Clearly getting more money in is more important.

First time visit to South Seven after seeing the positive reviews from previous diners and we were not disappointed. A fairly small establishment but what it lacks in size it certainly makes up for in atmosphere and quality food. We had the popcorn shrimp and chilli nachos for starters which were divine. The burgers are the best we have tasted. Generous portions too. Everything was really fresh and tasty. The prices of the food are excellent value. The staff were all really pleasant and made us feel so welcome. They have some excellent cocktails on offer which we will be trying on our next visit without the kids.Highly recommend this place to anyone thinking of visiting.
