We both had steak with chips peas onion rings tomato and peppercorn sauce. The steaks were excellent 👍. Just remember this is a busy pub which serves a good variety of food, but it can be noisy. Well worth a visit

I held my step dad's wake in there yesterday...staff were absolutely lovely, very attentive and helpful, they allowed us to do our own catering but also provided us with extra cutlery,plates etc.Im looking forward to returning for a meal with family and friends..thank you for all your hard work

Poor food steak and ale pie not great whys it served in a bowl and what's with getting my starter at the same time as my main, I had the chicken goujons that came with a hot dip so couldn't taste mains won't be back AND NO TIMOTHY TAYLOR 🤬

I had the Pensioners Lunch and it was excellent value for money. The staff worked hard so that our table of 10 were all able to eat at the same time . We will certainly go there again!

I recently went to The Dog and Patrick for a pub lunch with my office colleagues and had a thoroughly disappointing experience. I ordered the buffalo taco rolls, which were supposed to come with guacamole and spicy rice. However, the guacamole was completely missing from my meal. The rice, which was supposed to be spicy, turned out to be just plain rice served with a sweet chili sauce. It was neither flavorful nor enjoyable. To top it off, the dessert was absolutely horrible tasting. Overall, my lunch was a big letdown, and I won’t be returning.

Having just changed management this pub has improved greatly. Good prices for a varied menu and drinks. Jamie is a very friendly waitress.

This pub has greatly improved since the change of management. Much cleaner, great food and a good choice of drinks. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere especially at weekends with live music. Also very close to the River Mersey and walkers are welcome with their dogs (dog snacks always available. ) Highly recommended.

The staff are always friendly and prices are reasonable, the food looks good though I have not eaten here, a place I come to on a regular basis

Well presented, friendly local pub. Gary and staff are very helpful, service is excellent and the food is great, including some midweek deals that are hard to beat. There's a lovely welcome from Jayme on the bar, and chef Daryl produces good quality dishes including old favourites along with new ideas. The latest menu includes some enormous choux bun desserts that I look forward to trying! There's a decent car park and a deck outside the rear of the building. with an enclosed beer garden decorated with hanging baskets and strings of lights, a little oasis away from the traffic on Didsbury Rd.

Been here many of times before but am aware that it has been taken over by new owner. It’s gone down hill so much I was so disappointed. Firstly 2 out of the 3 beers ordered were vile, the staff changed the pumps but still were the same. The coke also tasted just like soda water even after being changed. I ordered food which came out all wrong and they even forgot one full meal and we all had to eat separately because they couldn’t get it right. Add on sauces that cost about £2.50 didn’t even come to the table and added extras on the burgers which were also chargeable where missed. It was honestly one issue after another. The staff seemed new or didn’t no what was going on. It’s a shame because I loved this pub even spent Christmas Day here for dinner one year with all my family. I probably won’t go back.

Went late afternoon, was not busy as expected. Would go back again as staff & pub after a good refurbish very nice.

A good local pub, plenty of room for diners and sports fans to both enjoy their stay. Some outdoor seating and room for kids to run around. Food is above average, and the service is pleasant. I have been a few times now and do struggle to walk past without popping in for a glass of wine.

Only my second visit but far better than previous trip. Lovely bar staff engaged us in conversation. Ic happy to reveal his Flat Eric heritage. Two real ales in this modern pub. Taylors Landlord which was a fine pint and Doombar. Large open plan interior and large rear beer garden, much of which is covered. (Lucky as yet another sunny Manchester day turns to heavy rain.) Car park to side. Boss says wine is fine.

Haven’t been in this pub for many years. Called in to meet a friend for a drink who’s new to Heaton Mersey. The table we sat at in the bar was disgusting. And obviously hadn’t been properly cleaned for some time. Apart from a wipe with a well used STICKY cloth. Maybe the management will want to look into this??? Every time I picked my glass up? It was stuck to the table..

Situated on didsbury road It serves good food every dayv &a good Sunday lunch 4 large tellys, there's entertainment every Saturday night ,with bands ,solo artist &the karaoke from time to time, easy to get there on the tram to the end of the line at East didsbury then a short walk up to didsbury road or the 23 which drops you outside the pub it's just passed the bus layby at east didsbury just a 6min walk down didsbury Road 2 bitters on landlords &dom bar ( but may change £4.25 foe landlord and various larger

Great local pub. Very easy to find also excellent transport routes to this place. Visited to watch the football. Very friendly staff served quickly even thou it was busy. Food looked nice that was being served.

Today 35 of us arrived to celebrate our 11th birthday of our drop-in. The food and service was fantastic and we would like to sincerely thank the chef & staff for a lovely meal. Thanks again from all who attend St Bernard's drop-in.

Lovely lunch with my friend, she had the scampi and I had the chicken and bacon salad. All fresh and tasty.

Busy, staff plentyful. Place could have been tidier, used glassware, crockery and cutlery on lots of tables, some of which hadn't been wiped down afterwards. That said, food arrived in good time, and was well presented and tasty. Good value allround in my opinion. Won't be the last visit.

Went in the pub on Saturday night and had a great night. There was a dj and karaoke and lots of people up dancing, great atmosphere. The baby Guinness shots were lovely and the staff were really pleasant.

Great pub, excellent staff, food super but the wine? Absolutely disgusting. House white is the cheapest most revolting plonk, and the only sauvignon blanc is a Chilean that is eighteen quid a bottle. (FYI brewery- a not very extensive trawl round the nearest local hostelries would reveal that not even a decent New Zealand SB is being quaffed at that price.) Would have left only we'd already ordered food)

This pub is working hard to get over the pandemic. Great live music and good beer prices. The food has a good reputation at good prices. Sunday lunch was recommended by 3 separate people so we will give it a try. Lots of parking Anwar the bus and tram stops.

Called in today Monday feb28th for lunch with a friend. Fantastic food for all and servicing OK. First visit for a few months but really enjoyed the Sausage & Mash, Lasagne and Gammon with egg. I had Apple Pie with lots of custard. Cannot wait to call again. Thanks to staff and chef. Prices very reasonable.

Our Heaton Mersey volunteer group has regular meals at the Dog & Partridge. Before throwing out my 2021 calendar, I had a look at months Sept - Dec last year. We (usually about 6 people) had 5 meals at the pub in this period. (And I added another I had just with my husband.) I enjoyed all the meals I had - none were disappointing and I heard no negative comments from my friends (or husband). Pub food that looks good as well as tasting good, and good and friendly service. I especially like their Garden Burger and fish and chips (their chips are always just right (golden and crispy brown on outside and soft on inside.)).

Nice atmosphere. Was quiet as the week before Christmas but I would definitely visit again.

Stopped off here during a long road trip hoping for some good, filling pub food. Instead, we got bad food and a case of food poisoning. Avoid!

Nice & Cosy Pub,Choice of Soup(Leek & Potato)..I Ordered Fish & Chips that came with peas,a slice of lemon and tartare sauce,arrived hot,well prepared & bubbly batter,you can have soft drinks or something stronger,Cheers! 10/10

Very good in the circumstances. Plenty of tables behind the pub, large umbrellas and big gazebo. Heineken lager on top form, service good, close adherence to Covid rules. Weather cold, but dry. Pub shut at 21:00, not long after sunset, possibly because they have not set up outside lighting.

Everytime, I drove past this pub ,I Always said I won't to go in there, so last night we went for a drink and food, I was so impressed with the very friendly staff and atmosphere, it was absolutely fantastic , definitely will be going more often now, its hard to find a lovely pub ,well done to all who work there 😀

Just had a mega mixed grill. I was a bit dubious at first because of the £20 price. But was I glad I chose it. I've had a lot of mixed grills from other pubs but this is by far the best I've ever had everything was cooked to perfection and I only just managed to eat it all. Gammon wasn't too salty. Chicken wasn't dry like most places and the steak was cooked medium rare like I ordered and melted in the mouth. Even the onion rings were spot on. I honestly couldn't fault one bit of it. 10/10 to the chef Also the bar staff were excellent very professional and very friendly. Think this pub is going to be my new local

Just had a lovely Sunday lunch. Roast beef and lamb shank with all the trimmings. The presentation was excellent and the food itself was very tasty. The service from the lady I think was the mamager was very friendly. We will definately be coming back ! Didn't get to sit in the beer garden at the back but it did look nice.

We visited on 11August 2020 tea time , I was amazed at the outside area , it is one of the best I have visited lovely area for eating and drinking , we had a very nice meal and the food was great The young lady and man who served us on the bar and served our food (Unfortunately I did not get the names) were very professional and made us feel very welcome a credit to the pub industry. We will definitely be going back here again. Keep up the good work .
