Platform 5 in Stockport

Just been in platform 5 arrived about 12.20. Waited at the bar for about 10 minutes, only one lad serving serving a crowd of people at the other end of the bar. It was obvious it was going to be a long wait. Asked if he could get someone else at the bar told "you'll just have to wait mate". Don't mind waiting 10 mins for a drink but it's not on to have to wait over 30 mins. Plus we did go in for food but that was an hour wait. They won't be seeing us for a while

Went for Xmas day yesterday and an amazing time we had. From start to finish was wonderful. Food was so delicious and piping hot, staff were lovely and attentive. Atmosphere was festive. Well done to Tanita and her team. Thanks for a lovely day.

Been here previously and the food was to die for but this time was quite bland especially for the price.

Food was fabulous, service was very friendly but plates weren't cleared very often or quickly. We were a large group and they misplaced the orders that weren't on the Christmas menu, so a few people ate after everyone else.

Good food- helpful pleasant staff but 1 hour wait for main course to arrive after the starter finished was unacceptable I know it’s a dog friendly pub but dogs up on the seating is surely against hygiene standards

Wouldn't return was given to picese of chicken size of my little finger as a starter small plate and still was red sent back chips came out after they had eaten the small plates of 6

We visited for lunch on a Friday and all had the fish and chips special. Fantastic value at £14.95 Inc a drink. Lots of seating areas and great if visiting with dogs as you can sit anywhere with them. Service is quick and all the staff really friendly. Lots of parking, and outdoor seating.

Food, service and football were all good, but please can someone run a duster over the place. Clearly hadn't been cleaned in a while.

Went to a party here lovely buffet(10.50) a head. Parking good but make sure you give reg inside or face a fine of £100

Haven't been here for a while but brought my children for some food recently and it was great. The children's meals are great value for money and good quality and the adult food is tasty too. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Will definitely come more regularly

Been a couple times now, lots of high chairs available and food is decent. However service is often a lot slower than it should be, especially for small pre-booked groups.

Nice place enjoyed the visit. Food was on the whole good but the yorkshire pudding was a bit soggy and the cauliflower cheese was terrible. Everything else was good standard. The decor is lovely . I would definately go back. I just wouldn't order the cauliflower cheese.

Couldn't fault P5. Great customer service. Beer was spot on. Great outdoor area and it was sunny and warm! Watched the football. Good seating and clear screens

Food was not as good as it looked in the menu, it was dry, not very nice, a bit disappointed, staff did not ask if alks well too, will not be going back disappointed

Popped in for quick lunch and pint with the daughter and her boyfriend. Ultimate Burger / Lasagne / Wexford Chicken. All Came piping hot and was very tasty pub grub. Nice service staff. Qucik Service. Definitely be returning.

Went here on way to Man City Had the steak and chips and fish and chips Both were very nice beer was decent too

Bank Holiday Monday...food was disappointing. We ate there a few months ago and it was amazing! Not sure if they'd had a busy weekend but the certainly wasn't up to scratch this time.

I'm afraid it lacks a pub atmosphere since it was quiet for Saturday evening 🫤 when we went for a drink with friends despite lovely interiors. They need events to entertain drinkers...come on P5....get your hats on! We didn't dine there.

Peaceful, quite mid week drink.

Nice pub to go for lunch with kids. They even have board games for little kids to play while they wait. We didn’t wait long for our food - pity as the game was interesting! Good kids & adult menu, nice atmosphere and efficient service. Recommended.

Food went downhill a little last time. Service is usually good but they took almost 30 mins to bring desserts out and we had to go and ask again at the bar. This was when there wasn't anyone in either so really shouldn't have been any wait. Likely just a one off thing but more attention would have been nice.

Just had my daughter’s christening here, exceptional venue with exceptional staff, food and atmosphere. Thank you for being so accommodating. Quality of food, service and atmosphere made the day. Highly recommend.

Lovely pub,food is delicious had the halouimi burger with sweet potato fries, (must say it was the best I've had yet ). The pub itself is set in a fantastic area with ,plenty of seating inside and out . Menu has something for everyone and is well worth the money. Will defo be going again x

We used to go here regularly but have been put off by the food and drinks prices compared to other pubs close by. Holts historically always gave good value for money. This time we also found the staff not very friendly more interested in joking about between themselves like customers were an inconvenience. Car parking situation is confusing and in fact we weren't asked if we had traveled by car meaning you need to enter your registration number or get fined. Mind you it was almost too much trouble asking what we wanted to drink. We wont be rushing back anytime soon.

The Friday night DJ (Darren) plays the best music as its a playlist that can suit EVERYONE!!

Fabulous pizza, great thin base and good toppings. Nice Holt's beers. Superb staff.

Friendly atmosphere in pleasant surroundings. The music's a bit too loud when you just want to chat in the bar area. Good beers though it's a pity there's not a mild or stout available.

Went to platform 5 in Cheadle Hulme last night for a private Christmas party. Staff and service was fabulous - particularly well looked after all night by Liv - nothing was too much trouble - really impressed with her customer service! Thanks Liv. I’ll be back and hope to try your food next time! 👍💕

Great food company and nice place and atmosphere polite star

Me and my wife were at P5 for a birthday party,we had a reserved part of the Inside as did another party that was taking place, it was a well respected private area as was the other party's Area. There was a live band playing and I happen to know the guys in the band on the night. It was not overwhelming loud and we could enjoy our private party as could the regular public enjoy the band. As a local reviewer I would have to say that Platform 5 was very good 👍 and I would recommend it for both a good friendly bar 🍸 and as a good venue for a private hire function Platform 5 out of 5.

Terrible terrible service. We were part of a large group that was booked months ago, yet they seemed to be very short staffed and short tempered! I heard good things about the food but they managed to get that wrong and it wasn't very tasty.

Reasonable price and reasonable food. Went for Sunday lunch with the family, not so warm, but staff were very friendly.

Not been here for a long time as moved out of area. Now back so decided to try. We shared small plates Chicken Gyozas, Honey chicken, and then the lamb Cofya flat bread all were Delicious 😋 especially the Gyozas would highly recommend, already planning next visit where I will Not be sharing my Gyozas 🤣🤣 good service nice staff too 👍

My partner and some good friends decided to have a drink at P5 in Cheadle last night and we were having a really great night. There was some really good live music on so we decided to move closer because of the background noise. We were enjoying the music and a couple of times, one of the staff members, told the performers to finish because nobody was interested but she was wrong because we spoke to plenty of people who enjoyed the music. We were thankfully granted another song but we won’t be coming back because of how rude the member of staff was. She had no customer service ability and treated the entertainment so poorly in front of the customers too. I don’t know what happened earlier in the evening but it was like she just didn’t want them there which is sad because they were amazing :(

Good vibe, lovely music, variety menu , cheerful staff makes everything perfect . Definitely a nice pub for family and friends . Do come again .

Haven’t been to P5 for a long time, but decided to try them again for Sunday lunch. My kids were thrilled with there meal, main course with two sides for £5.99 plus an extra £1 for a drink. My falafel flatbread was surprisingly tasty, I had initially opted for for a vegetarian Sunday roast, but unfortunately they didn’t have any vegetarian option available. Overall I would recommend, with plenty of seating areas and free parking. Don’t forget to enter your registration number on entry.

Nice atmosphere, beer wasn't that good, really like Holts, been coming in here for Years, the Two Hoots is usually spot on, not on this occasion.

Only our 2nd visit in here made to feel very welcome by the staff Enjoyed taking part in the quiz will be back again on a Tuesday quiz night

I tend to dine alone and this place had a good atmosphere for that. I say had because last time I went for food at my regular time I was told 'the ovens weren't on' . Also vaping is aloud so I haven't been back since.

go each wednesday for pensioners roast dinner which is always good but today went for the cheese,onion and potato pie from the main menu.Absolutely delicious. Heaven on a plate.Comes with chips and peas abd cheese sauce, everything for any cheese fans. AAAAA

Stopped by for a drink when getting off the train.

Enjoyed sitting in the garden, on a beautiful sunny day. Although we didn't eat here we spoke to the Chef who was really friendly as were with the bar staff ⭐

Great boozers with cheep food options which are tasty , excellent location next to station, great for a few pints and a bite. Large indoor and outdoor areas and good service , nice recent refit

Adjacent to Cheadle railway station, this is a good stop off for a decent pint if ale whether on foot bike or train.

Lovely atmosphere, been twice and unfortunately the first time they forgot my order - I had to remind them 40 minutes later after my friend had her meal. The second time I went with a large group and they forgot part of my meal. It was resolved quickly, just a shame it happened twice!

Nice pub, not a fan of the draft beers so went bottled. Nicely decorated and staff were pleasent

O sent my meal back refund given my sons meal didnt come with ours had to wait .no one asked us how our meal was .pizza nice for 2nd son .its not where i would recomend teally

Went last night, go regularly it was awful.very loud music which was just the same beat and poor quality.bar staff shouting loudly also, usually a Friday night is good but it seems it’s changing into a dance venue for teenagers! Lots of people left early, won’t be going back for a long time at the weekends

Solid, bland pub food that hits the spot when that's what you feel like. United match was being shown so I should have given the atmosphere 1 star but I'm sure the place is grand when the commoners aren't out in force ☺️

Not as good value for money as it used to be. Was a first option as a family meal out when the offers and variety of options made P5 a worthwhile visit. As prices have risen those two enticements have decreased.

Great pub this. We only called in for an hour and stayed all night. Nice to see really good entertainment on. The Committee band really worked hard and played all the dance floor hits. The girl singer was amazing and they seemed to be on all night. Let us know when next they are on and we’ll be there. The staff were very polite and really got into the music. Great vibe. Keep it up Platform 5. Peter

Awful drinks and awful atmosphere. They only served a handful of weak and peculiar tasting cocktails of shades of brown along with a selection of unbranded beer. Would not recommend for anyone unless you're too drunk to remember it.

Cheese and onion pie so overcooked could not cut pastry. Replacement much better. Chicken with pepper mushroom sauce, ok but sauce slightly over peppered. Chicken a little dry.

A high quality Holts Pub. Warm and comfy, with happy, polite and efficient staff. Holts = good value.

Went here after having Xmas Meal at another nearby pub. Staff were friendly and prices were reasonable. seemed to lack ambience but football was on so it was difficult to tell

Too many people coming from the toilets sniffing & wipping there faces. Funny how the security have no clue but coke seems to be a problem.

Food was ok, but the place was freezing, so we had to keep coats on, the staff put a couple of heaters on, to try and warm us up.. but it didn't quite do the trick.. Maybe I need to call in again, and give them another chance

The staff were lovely, let me say that first off. Sadly, the pub itself is huge and wasn't particularly warm, as it was pretty much empty when we visited. Mum had a small selection of gluten free choices, mainly the usually suspects plus things that could have gluten free bread as a substitute. We both chose a toasted sandwich, chicken, Lancashire cheese and avocado. Obviously one on regular bread and the other gluten free... they were both awful, unfortunately. The accompanying leaves were brown and wilted. It could have been argued that they might be wilted due to their proximity to a hot toasties, however the toasties were anything but hot and even the cheese was decidedly not melting at all! The bread was faintly coloured and mum's was rock hard. The fries were crispy, but looked anaemic... an extra fw minutes and they could have been really good... and at least they were hot! All in all a sad experience. We might venture back for a drink one day, but will not be eating there again.

I parked here and bought a ticket via RingGo. Incidentally it was also after 6pm which, according to RingGo, was not a time that required a ticket. However, I still received a parking ticket because I didn’t register my vehicle within Platform 5. I tried to challenge it but “Smart Parking” who operate it refused to accept l my evidence. It’s a horror of a scam

The food here is very well cooked and prepared, and it is quite fast to get to your table, atmosphere is good but if you don't like loud music then I would advise sitting on the road side of the bar/restaurant, but all together a nice place

Bit quiet when we came on a Saturday afternoon. Shame really because this place has good pub food, I think because it's set back a bit it's a bit neglected.
