They hosted my father in law’s post funeral function yesterday and did a wonderful job. Superb service, fantastic food, warm atmosphere in comfortable surroundings. Thoroughly recommend. Thank you.

Called in here whilst on a break from work and had the trio of meats roast. Everything was delicious except maybe the stuffing. Nice portion of veg and roasties all done very nice. The meat was very tender but must have been cut with a razor blade it was that thin !! Still tasty but would of been much better if they had cut the meat into proper cuts of meat. When it came to the bill the roast was £22.50 then the lady said there is a £2 supplement for Lamb so the dinner cost £24.50 on its own ! That’s right at the top end of high end restaurant prices ! Washed down with a lime and soda and my bill was £26.30. Don’t know what else to say really

Best roast dinner I’ve had in a LONG time! Friendly service, poor waiting staff were understaffed so it was a struggle for them but they did their best!

Last minute booking for a birthday tea with friends. Received a warm welcome from lovely staff and enjoyed a great meal. The history of the place is fascinating too. Will be back.

By far the best Sunday roast I've ever eaten, the beef was so juicy and tender, the veg cooked to perfection and all for a steal of a price....be warned this place gets busy and rightfully so.

We had a great lunch here on Saturday. The beer was on form, and the food top notch.

Great service, friendly staff, good beer and excellent food. I had a pint of Landlords, and the Steak in Red wine pie, chips and veg. The food was all home made. The steak in the pie was tender and full of flavour. And the chunky chips reminded me of the ones my mum used to make.

A mate promised me an amazing meal and it didn’t disappoint! The ciabatta was packed with thick braised steak that melted in your mouth. Service was great and the staff were very friendly. Think my mate has a thing for one of them to be honest.

Stayed overnight in our motorhome in the massive rear car park. Had a few pints of well kept White Rat from Ossett Brewery whilst watching the rugby. Great atmosphere and good selection of beers. Big shout out to Zara who is one of the friendliest and helpful hosts you could meet. A real credit to the business, very busy but still time for a chat and a constant smile.

Last minute visit to this lovely spot for Sunday lunch, before heading up to the local Moovin festival. Staff were lovely, extremely helpful fitting us in and couldn't have done more for us. Food was up there with the best, the roast potatoes were pure filth 😍 The pad beef was very well cooked, fell apart on the fork, and the veg was fresh and tasty. 10/10 so glad we made the decision to try this gem of a place!

We held a gathering here for family and friends, old and young. Everyone was so helpful and friendly when arranging this and we had a super time. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the buffet food was superb! The outdoor space was a hit with young children too. Thank you Sam and the team!

We had been walking in the area and fancied a stop off for lunch. The food here was good and the young lady serving us was very pleasant and friendly. The pub is dog friendly so we hope to be back some time with my dad and his dog. Well recommended!

I come here once every year for buckle and boots festival. The food here is really really good. It really is exceptional. The pad beef Sunday roast, it's the best beef I've ever had on a Sunday roast. It really is that good. Also the staff and the service is amazing. It's the real deal.

What a fantastic place. The food was amazing - probably one of the best steaks I have had in a long time. My wife had scampi - again delicious.... The staff are super attentive... I highly recommend The Spring Gardens if you are ever in the area.

Stayed over in motorhome and had meal here. The food was 1 st class. Would highly recommend the rump steak and sticky toffee pudding. Partner had butterfly chicken burger which was just as good . 10 out of 10. Also the table service from Zara was fantastic . One absolute diamond. Very friendly ,bubbly and most welcoming. Would highly recommend. We will be back !

The spring gardens has a lovely outdoor area, lots of grass for the kids to run. The food is gorgeous and they do delicious Sunday roasts all reasonably priced. Very friendly staff, special mention to Zara who works really hard behind the bar and is always ready for a chat and makes young and old feel welcome. Will be back there soon.

We had been for a lovely walk in the area and decided to call in for something to eat and drink. The food was amazing and all freshly cooked. The girls behind the bar and waitress were very attentive and couldn't do enough for us....

Had a Mother's Day Sunday lunch with our family - service and food great. Will definitely visit again.

The Sunday Dinners here are a thing of legend. The usual meats Beef, Lamb and Turkey with Roast and boiled mashed potatoes supported by mashed carrots, parsnips and broccolli. Finally cauliflower cheese. There are "house beers" and guest ales rotated weekly . I went for Timothy Taylor's Landlord ale, beautiful. Booking is advised , as I did, as it is usually busy (I booked for4pm )

Enjoyed the new Sunday lunch menu with the family, very tasty and a good selection of meats. Comfortable and cosy, the perfect venue 🙂

Recently went to this pub with my family and I can say never again will I be going back very rude landlady and awful service food took almost an hour to come out and was cold when it did arrive !

Absolutely disgusting how you have treated the chef of 5 years dismissed him after loosing his beloved wife Shame on u after that status u put up about what a credit he was to ur establishment u should be ashamed 😡

What an absolute joke of a place this is!! After Jerry has just lost his beautiful wife, the mother to his gorgeous daughter he has not been allowed to grieve by this company. He has dedicated the last 4/5 years here as their chef, providing their customers with top grade home cooked meals to be SACKED for not being in work the week before and the week leading to his wife's funeral. He is entitled to compassionate leave of 3wks by law yet the manager here feels its acceptable to sack him. I sure as hell hope this place are dragged through court for unfair dismissal and hang their heads in shame. Avoid this place at all costs as they do not have any compassion for their staff. All they care about is themselves .

Rude staff! Food was sent back twice due to it coming out wrong. The price is far to much! 1.90 for a can when there 60p in shops robbing ba**ards!

I love this pub, and have visited several times. The food is always excellent, have had several different dishes and never been disappointed. The atmosphere is lovely and welcoming, and the huge outdoor area is amazing in the summer!

Booked for a family meal at 4.30. Having 3 young children with us who are in bed for 7 we thought it would be plenty of time for the meal. Four meals on the menu were not available. One grandson really upset by not having...

The food is amazing! The service is very slow, food wait was ages. The place is freezing cold so make sure you ware something warm I had a blouse on and was shivering I'm a person who runs hot.

Food is of an excellent standard, I’ve been to London restaurants and gastro pubs that don’t match the quality of food you get from Spring Gardens. We’ve been here numerous times and every time it’s been spot on. Sunday roast- Quality and quantity (rare to find I think for a roast!) but they nail it. Every bit of veg is served you don’t have to buy extras including cauliflower cheese! The meat is always cooked perfectly and the best roast potatoes and gravy. Every bit of food on the roast tastes great. Had a roast from here 4 times! The other food is amazing too, I’ve had a standard beef burger and that’s homemade and lovely but the other usual pub grub meals like hunters chicken and beef wellington is done so differently the chef has put his own spin on them which is so nice to have something different that tastes even better! Food is 10/10 for sure. Staff are always so lovely and kind. Really thoughtful and attentive, friendly and approachable. Dog friendly too! Nice atmosphere and massive beer garden! All round great pub 😊

Highly recommended place to eat and have a nice relaxing time with the family. Jerry the in-house chef was superb and made sure we were well looked after with some top notch food and service. The pub itself provides ample parking in a lovely location with plenty of space outside to let the kids have a safe run about and they also do functions offering the use of a very large marquee, but I would check on that as it may well have been a temporary fixture. 10/10 and a pleasant surprise to go out and not have a single complaint about anything so well done 👏👏👏

Had an afternoon tea here, unfortunately it did not meet my expectation as the cakes were shop bought and was cheap which we ended up wasted. The cups were dusty and I had to wipe it with napkin. The reason for a 2 star is because the staff were great!

Many years since we've been to this pub but food Sunday dinner was lovely.Told it would be 30mins but it came in 20mins and it was lovely. I had lamb and my partner had beef.Both very good.

Great Sunday Lunch and dog friendly!

Massive thanks to all the girls, staff, and Jerry the chef! At the spring gardens Had a last minute arranged 50th birthday meal, and from the start was looked after superbly nothing was too much trouble for the kind friendly staff. Great choice of drinks at good prices, and the food and choice of meals was the very best we have had for a long time! Jerry pulled out all the stops to give 100% great food.,beautifully presented. So glad we went and will be definitely going there again! Thanks again! Ps also very dog friendly place too!

Visited again Sunday in the snow. Apologies for not giving a review earlier as been here several times. Great pub restaurant, excellent interior with log fire. Staff always friendly and the food is very well presented, great value and very tasty. Will be back soon.

We used this venue as a campervan stopover. Which was mostly OK. When we arrived to pitch up the parking area was pretty well at capacity due to a Bowls match, tis cleared after about 2 hours or so and we were able to pitch up. As this was free we decided to meet with my sister and partner and my son. The 5 of us had a pleasant meal in the pub which we enjoyed. I would suggest that the proprietors consider putting an outside drinking water tap and marked bins for waste recycling. I have no doubt that we shall be visiting again.

We had the Sunday lunch sharer a couple of weeks ago. Oh my word how good was that 🤤. The whole experience overall, the staff were bubbly bright and on the ball. The food was absolutely delicious and plenty to go at. We sat outside in the lovely open air with our dog a way from the bar. Did we feel we had to wait for service NO NOT ONE BIT as said the staff were brilliant. We will 💯 % be going back…….. In fact that’s it choice made we’re headed there today 👌🙏
