Stylish cafe with Scandinavian vibe . Limited menu so just had coffee which was very good . Flan & sausage rolls looked nice but reluctant to purchase as not covered .
Booked a table as we wanted a good traditional Christmas meal. We were not disappointed. The staff were welcoming and attentive. We were allocated a table close to the fire which was fantastic. All three of us chose the traditional turkey Christmas dinner. Each meal was plated well, well presented and more importantly, delicious. Definitely can say the Punch Bowl is worth going to for a hearty meal and drinks. Staff are a credit to the new owners.
We felt we needed a coffee after a walk and found this lovely bakery and café. Lots of fresh bread and cakes were being sold as takeaway, but we found comfortable seats and sat inside. Nice cappuccino and latte with friendly staff and a warm welcome. This place was a good find.
Popped in for lunch recently and we were very impressed. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, the cafe looks lovely and is very clean, and the food was amazing! Really pleased we found this place, we will definitely be back!
The Carus Green consistently delivers excellent food and value for money. The team led by Helen deliver exceptional customer service, we are greeted with a smile, efficient service and all team members despite being very busy take the time to have a quick catch-up and are a credit to the club. We highly recommend a visit if you are in the area, golf clubs are not needed and with free parking a coffee and a great selection of cakes on offer it is also a great place to meet friends.
There’s an excellent range of chocolates here. You can have chocolates packaged in a variety of gift boxes or just by weight in a paper bag if they’re for personal scoffing. I tried a few I’d never seen before such as peanut and Florentine. My favourites were the orange and the passionfruit but there’s plenty to choose from! There are also bars of chocolate and other chocolate products. Great service. Recommended.
We stayed in one of the cottages next to the tearoom and enjoyed both breakfast and lunch there. The food was delicious, with produce being used from the farm itself. The home made hash browns were amazing!
Service was excellent. All staff we spoke to were friendly and attentive. We felt very welcomed and looked after.

Great portion sizes
Great friendly and quick service.
We sat outside for lunch overlooking the lake and surrounding hills. The staff accommodated to our specific order. A lovely garden and lots of things to do nearby. Will come back!
Just incredible.
Great tasty food and good value for money. I'm a regular visitor. The atmosphere is cosy and the service is excellent. Love the fact that dogs are made to feel extremely welcome with beds to help them settle after a long walk.
In my opinion probably the best coffee house/restaurant in Kendal it’s a quick service staff are so welcoming and the food was a different level of amazing. Highly recommended for anyone In the Kendal area.
Unfortunately it has now been permanently closed since 9th September 2024 by the owners so don't make a special trip there. The Eagle and Child pub in Staveley is a great alternative if you're in the village.
