Bardsea Ice Cream Kiosk - Chill & Grill in South Lakeland

Great little place for lunch, cakes, coffee and ice creams. I had their chicken wrap and it was very tasty. Great views when the weather is good.

The nuts and berry favor is nice but the mango sobert was not very recommended. A nice beach next to it for let your dogs running around.

stopped here mid-walk for ice creams (and one dog ice cream), this place is a great place to make a pit stop. we had the tea loaf too and it was gorgeous - would definitely recommend making this a stop on your journey.

Just love this place...so cute and quaint. We had coffee and added a cake too - a mars Brownie - delish - and sat outside in the cutest little seating area with lots to see, We drove all the way from Morecambe just for coffee and it is very worth while! The view is fantastic - across Morecambe Bay and sat n the sunshine it feels so much better. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. As well as all these positives there is more - including all the other tempting food and a small selection of gifts. Something for everybody here including the dogs! Excellent place - a must to visit. Thank you so much,,,can't wait to call again!

A first-class sausage bun and an even better tea-bread made me have to write this review! I must also mention the lovely staff who run the place. They are also environmentally caring, which is not always true of take-away outlets. Older visitors will be pleased to know that there are toilets nearby, but I didn't see them. More signs would be useful. I strongly recommend the Chill & Grill!

Very helpful staff. Can recommend the burger and the falafel wrap. Ice cream looked nice with lots of choice. Also saw some very nice looking sandwiches passing by. Definitely worth stopping. Car park opposite with plenty of parking

Can't fault the food. But the outside seating area is dangerous. Grass too long. Ground really uneven and you can't see where you're walking. There is a table with chairs around it, but the chairs have actually sunk into the ground. I have actually took a photo of the seating area and it is nothing like the photo on the website.

We were visiting the area & driving the coastal road to Conniston Water. We stopped at Bardsea Beach & decided to have something to eat. We are both veggie & ordered spinach & falafel wrap plus a homemade scone with jam & cream. We sat outside, food arrived quickly & was very tasty, generous portions & well presented. We finished it off with a vanilla ice-cream, also very tasty. Lovely staff, lots of choice & we will return. Note, that it is seasonal so not open from late Autumn to Spring.

Very quant little cafe very close to the sea. This is a very small cafe but it has a large dog friendly garden area. It’s out of the way but great if you’re passing or walking your dog along the shore.

Went with family for food and ice cream. There is a large variety of ice cream flavours, 3 of which I had in a tub with a chocolate flake 😋. There is also a selection of hot food and sandwiches. On a beautiful sunny day it was a pleasure to sit in the sheltered garden and enjoy good food with a great view of Bardsea. There is a parking area across the road with unobstructed view across Morecambe Bay. A great little place for a relaxing pit-stop, or a longer stay. The owner, Paul Stoller, has done a great job with this little gem 😎

Fabulous little place in an ideal spot for walking along the coast. Great variety of food, drinks and treats for such a small place....just like a TARDIS. Lovely friendly staff who make you feel very welcome. And a bonus a beautiful little garden to sit in the sunny weather.

Best baked potato for miles, service with a smile, beautiful outlook and biodegradable cutlery. Very good value for money.

I came across this place whilst driving along the coast road from Barrow to Ulverston. Stopped off for a coffee and an ice cream. Very nice indeed on both counts and the staff were friendly and inviting too. May try their food next time.

Came across this little shack while walking in the winter, unfortunately it was closed. So when we decided to cycle The Bay Way, we hoped it would be open, which it was. The ladies were really welcoming, pleasant and chatty. We sat out in the garden and enjoyed our food. Plenty of choice and It was really reasonable priced. The nicest falafel wrap ever. Will definitely visit again.

Stopped off for a break whilst driving through to Barrow in Furness. Only had an ice cream cornet, chocolate flavoured, absolutely delicious and a generous portion. Would definitely return when back in the area.

Delicious ice-cream and flapjacks - good coffee - and the hidden garden is a nice spot when the sun is shining (or to shelter from the wind off Morecambe Bay). Worth a detour when walking on Birkrigg Common.

Lovely little shack cafe opposite the beach, no indoor seating but plenty outside. Food was really good and reasonably priced, rain forces us to leave before we tried the home made cake but looked delicious

We visited on a rainy Sunday. Ordered our food, sat in the car and ate. It was great. My panini was lovely, so too was my coffee. In a great location, perfect for walking on a better day.

Excellent place. Well worth nipping of the A590 to take in a break. Everything you need home made fresh and very friendly folk. We had a brew and cake superb 👌

Complete waste of time. Rang 30 mins ahead of time to check if they were opening today at 11am, lady assured me they were. Arrived at 11.25am to no-one there? Nothing had changed (weather etc) so up to you if you want to waste your time seeing if they are going to bother opening.

Stumbled across this amazing place whilst on holiday. It's fascinating with such a vast menu for a small place and as a bonus sells little gifts too! A secret garden only adds to the charm of this place. Sadly we had eaten so didn't taste the food but we did have a sneaky delicious ice cream and sat on the bench across the road overlooking the bay....beautiful! It is difficult to decide which ice cream to choose as there are many different flavours....another bonus to this gem! A must to visit.

I contacted The Chill and Grill to ask about vegan options and called for lunch after receiving a speedy reply they catered for vegans. It was a perfect lunch stop near to the beach and a large seating out area to chill out. My husband and I had the most scrumptious falafel wrap, cauliflower chickpea coronation pitta and pecan chocolate brownie with big mugs of coffee. Highly recommended.

We called in for hot chicks, and a great selection of ice cream. The staff helpfully pointed out the public toilets that we had missed 50 yrds away. Great outdoor seating in the sun. A nice coastal tarmac path connects the carparks with cooper lane beach too

Lovely lunch with a friend who isn't great on her pins We were helped get a seat with easy access and everyone is really friendly. Lunch was really fresh l had sandwiches, no curled edges! We both had delicious ice cream to follow. Would definitely recommend.

lovely and friendly staff the food smelt lovely we did not have any thou we had some lovely ice cream and the dog enjoyed his ice cream eventually when we managed to get him of the beach.

Lovely little place! Good selection of vegan options (sorbet and dairy-free ice cream, they also had diabetic friendly ice cream) and super friendly and helpful staff. Got some free vegan muffins too which were delicious, and definitely recommend the blackberry sorbet. Also has a lot of outside seating.

On a beautiful autumn Sunday .... had excellent ice cream to help us enjoy the views across to Heysham. Lots of lovely things to choose from ..... 2 freezer cabinets of different flavours of ice cream Together with very tempting cakes and bakes.....

Called in for a lite lunch and we weren't dissapointed, the food was first class along with the service and reasonably priced. We finished it off with with a couple of their ice-creams and they went down a treat. Well done to the owners for looking after us, we can't wait to go back.

Me detuve en la playa para un descanso y un almuerzo campestre planificado en un día horrible, pero vi la parrilla abierta y obtuve dos hamburguesas muy apreciadas; luego regresé por bebidas y pastel. Excelente y amable servicio, y muy recomendado. Volveremos a probar los helados.

Hicimos dos visitas mientras teníamos un día de playa, primero para tomar un café para llevar y luego para tomar un refrigerio para comer afuera. Mis hijos quedaron entusiasmados con sus helados y yo amaba tanto mi hamburguesa vegetariana que intenté recrearla varias veces en casa. Es una pena que actualmente no haya baños abiertos, pero si puedes vivir con eso, definitivamente te recomendaría una visita.

Expensive for what it is, ordered a sausage panini and got a chopped chipolata (or thinner) mixed with some cheese. A sorry state.

Ok, ordered Thunder + Lightning ice cream, turned out to be an attempt at the English Lakes Ice Cream version but failed! Staff were prompt and friendly though so good place overall.

"Descubrimos" la playa frente al Kiosco de helados Bardsea - Chill & Grill esta semana. No solo es un excelente lugar para estacionar su autocaravana, el panorama marino de Morecombe Bay es impresionante. Así que encontrar un lugar tan maravilloso para un helado suntuoso al otro lado de la carretera fue exuberante como decimos en Bristol. Prueba su helado es memorable. La variedad Thunder & Lightning es fabulosa. También hacen una gran selección de otras cosas que aún no hemos probado. Por cierto, como un día para tus hijos y para ti, a ambos les encantará la playa. Es un pequeño oasis mientras las mamás y los papás locales jugaban en la corriente de agua dulce con sus ranas que fluyen hacia la bahía. Por el momento, hay un baño público enfrente. ASEGÚRESE de que dona unos peniques para "pagar para orinar". A los niños les encantará. . .

Called in for two ice-creams when we were passing and were blown away with the variety of ices and flavours that they had to offer. We sat in the sunshine looking out towards Morecambe and they went down a treat.
