Terrible customer service! The young girl at the till clearly did not want to be there. She was huffing and puffing at customers! Yes, it was very busy as yesterday, 15th October was a beautiful autumn day but I would think they would be glad of end of season trade! I could not sit down because they were so busy so opted to ask for take away coffee and cake, only to be told by her 'I'm not doing take away'. Really? The local co-op is closed for a refurbishment and they really could capitalise on that if they employed more capable, less miserable staff! Shocking!! Won't return!

I lovely find, staff were helpful and friendly and food was gorgeous, my husband had the Cumbrian crepe and I certainly had food envy! Will definitely be back.

We popped in after a morning walk and ordered tea and cakes. There is such a great array of things on offer - particularly gluten free options. The gluten free carrot cake was amazing! Friendly and attentive service too :)

After a morning spent exploring the ancient stone circle in Keswick, with a light drizzle settling over the landscape, I stepped into Emma’s Dell, where the hospitality was as warm and quiet as Wordsworth himself might have imagined. The scent of freshly baked goods and brewing coffee filled the air, but it was the Luxury Mint hot chocolate that drew me in. I found a seat by the window, watching the soft rain patter on the streets outside, its rhythm comforting. Shadow, our loyal collie, rested by my feet, his coat still damp from our morning adventure. I cradled the mug of hot chocolate in my hands, the rich warmth seeping into my skin, while the cool mint offered a refreshing contrast. The memories of the past week in Scotland drifted through my thoughts. Iona, with its serene beaches and ancient abbey, had stirred something deep within me. Walking beside Dad along the sacred paths of that mystical island, I had felt an overwhelming sense of peace, as though the ancient stones and the wind carried whispers of something greater, something timeless. Now, back in the heart of the Lake District, with the trees still awaiting their autumn transformation, I felt that same stillness. The quiet beauty of Grasmere, the gentle rain, and the calm atmosphere of Emma’s Dell enveloped me, reminding me that this trip had been more than a holiday—it had been a spiritual renewal. Shadow nudged my leg, and I smiled down at him, thankful for these moments of reflection and the simple, tranquil magic of this October day in Grasmere.

We are two 74 year olds, After quite a climb around the woodland walk at Allen Bank , which was brilliant , very steep in places. We arrived at Emma’s , we were greeted by really friendly staff. I had mushroom soup , excellent , my partner had a crepe which was also delicious but far too big to eat. They kindly gave us a box of and advice on reheating . Really lovely people that always makes a good experience .

I originally didn't want to make a review of this place but after no response from the actual owners I believe I'm well within my right to post this. The staff here are totally and utterly rude! I came in calmly and sat down, no staff made any effort to come over and serve us - as a first time customer I didn't realise I had to go and collect the menus ourselves. After the customer a staff member was talking with actually had to point out I was waiting she approached us almost like she couldn't be bothered to serve me. I politely asked for the menu in which she rolled her eyes and said that I had to get them myself. She then proceeded to walk over to the counter, get them, walk back and practically throw them at me, slamming them onto the table before strutting away. Now I'm sure you can agree that someone with such an appalling and can't be bothered attitude shouldn't be working in a job serving customers. We live locally so it's not like we are tourists to the area - even though that is not an excuse to act like that to what would have been a valued customer!

Even on the busiest days this place has a calm and pleasant atmosphere. It's light and airy inside with a cosy verandah for outdoor eating if you prefer. Very attentive and friendly service. Food is delicious, I had creamy chicken and mushrooms with roasted vegetables followed by one of their lovely cakes.

We visited on busy rainy afternoon for a late lunch. I found the menu small and savory pancakes an odd selection but on trying one was pleasantly surprised. Sadly the service really let this business down...just 2 young girls out front, one delightful but the other clearly not wanting to be there. They desperately needed an extra pair of hands from someone with authority or more experience.

We only had soup for lunch but it was excellent quality and plentiful.

I have visited this cafe quite a few times but the last twice have been completely put off by an extremely rude member of staff. Very bad attitude and so obviously in the wrong job. Shame as the food is good - expensive but good. I wouldn't recommend it anymore I am afraid.

I had the soup and bread, with a coffee. The coffee and soup were lovely, but the soup only came with a tiny end bit of bread, and not enough for an adult portion. I asked for some more bread and was told I’d need to pay 75p extra, which I then had to ask for it warmed, as the original piece had been warmed. Shame as I wouldn't have expected such a small bit of bread.

We've been here previous years and used to love it but the prices this year are way too high. It's really not worth eating here anymore. No children's menu, not even children's drinks. I don't know whether the owner was on holiday but there seemed to be a number of younger people running it and the service wasn't the greatest. I asked for a specific cake to be cut in half and served on two plates before they brought them to us, one for my wife and one for my four year old. The idea was so that he didn't think he was being conned out of a larger piece of cake which he'd waste (as it was too much) anyway. So they agreed they could do that and brought the wrong cake (mine) sliced in half, which didn't go down too well with my 4 year old. Also only 2 cake forks instead of 3. Some people were being served at their table and they knew we were there but they didn't bother with us either. The coffees weren't that great this time round and the prices were the worst thing about it all. It's such a shame as this was our go to place when in Grasmere, but we won't be visiting again. It's one of the many places that are now trying to fleece all of the tourists, making it so they don't have a choice but to spend more than the worth of what they're selling.

Do you like coffee, do you like all things sugary and with a french pancake twist? Well look no further than Emma's Deli in Grasmere. Perfect flat white and kids choc fudge cake crepe. (Try saying that 10 times in a row!) Prices represent good value for money. Staff very pleasant and considering we visited on a Sunday in the school hols, stuff didn't take long to arrive.

My cheese and ham crepe was lovely, but the wife received a nutella crepe that was a bit too chewy.

Comfortable cafe in the middle of Grasmere, we had lunch, I had the quiche which came with crisps and a large fresh salad, my wife had a ham filled crepe. Food was well presented and excellent quality, large portions, the service was friendly.

Had coffee and half a cream scone. Excellent and value for money. Went back and had lunch which again Excellent and the service on both occasions was very efficient and friendly.

Stopped at this small, clean cafe for lunch. Very friendly young staff. Had a goat cheese and broccoli quiche with salad, huge hot cappuccino and an amazing Bakewell tart ( highly recommended by my server). Service was quick and efficient. Small patio out front to sit at on a nice day, and two very clean washrooms. I was impressed by the three young servers who were not only chatty and charming, but hard workers, cleaning the tables and making sure everyone was served efficiently during the busy lunchtime.

We were in Grasmere, looking for a tea room, and were slightly put off our usual one by the cake options it had that day. We popped into the deli to see what gluten free offerings they had and, after a walk round the village to look at the other options, decided this was the most tempting. I'm so glad we did! I had the gluten free carrot cake which was the best I've had yet. I'd love the recipe! Soft, moist, flavoursome but not too herby, a flattering layer of frosting but not too much... I couldn't eat the whole piece and ended up taking the rest away in a bag to finish off on our walk! They also had GF raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake, and clearly labelled lunch options. We also had the normal chocolate fudge cake which my husband enjoyed, and two pots of tea. The tea I wasn't so sold on - loose leaf in a filter jug - it wasn't to my personal taste because I was unsure about the brewing time - but the cakes were amazing. The view from the cafe was lovely, the staff were really helpful and friendly but also gave us space, the toilets were spotless and modern. We'll definitely be back on future trips to the Lakes

We stopped for an early lunch. Excellent service, great coffee, beautiful food, and the best gingerbread milkshake out there. A family favourite for us. The kids loved the chocolate fudge cake crepe. Thank you! ☺️

Highly recommend the cheese scones. They are large and super tasty. The hot chocolate is one of the best I've had and the staff were friendly and helpful

Service without a smile. Given the fact that it’s a tourist spot, the ladies serving our lunch couldn’t bring themselves to smile which was a real shame. They looked as if they didn’t want to be there which unfortunately didn’t create a very pleasant dining experience. Therefor we wouldn’t return as there are many other choices in beautiful Grasmere.

Really nice little cafe serving delicious lunches. I had the rarebit with vegetables and it was very yummy. I also had a piece of chocolate cake which was very dry and tasted more of carob than chocolate.

We called in today and sat outside in the glorious sunshine. Walked past loads of times previously but thought we would try it. Initially we were only having a coffee and a cold drink but the food being brought out and the friendly atmosphere changed our plans we decided to stay for lunch. Glad we did as it was lovely - Savoury Cumbrian Crepe and a Savoury Bacon, Brie & Cranberry and a side of herby wedges - absolutely delicious. Dog friendly, people friendly and great food - can’t ask for much more really. Thoroughly recommend and will return.

Staff were very hostile. Especially the man with the short blonde hair and earring. He gave us a dirty look as we weren’t sure whether or not we wanted to enter. After we decided to order he immediately switched and was extremely nice to us. I’m not sure if this was because we were the only brown customers in the store, or just because he was a rude person. We only ordered food just because I needed to use the bathroom and the food was overpriced and underwhelming.

This establishment is in the centre of Grasmere, called in for a pot of tea for two and decided to have home made soup with a warm bread roll and butter The soup was perfect and filling the roll and butter gorgeous, the tea was refreshing and served in the traditional way of loose leafs . This cafe was quite popular on our visit , but managed to get a table without fuss Waitress service was excellent, polite and friendly. A extensive menu , a three course meal can be had or just cake , sandwich or drinks. I will call in again and recommend

I had been to a few other cafes in Grassmere but never this one. And I do say it was lovely, a very nice flavoured iced coffee and Bailey's cheesecake, and a white chocolate and raspberry scone that actually tasted good.

The absolute hands down best carrot cake I've ever had. Still thinking about it several times a day 3 days later! Moist, beautifully spiced, delicious frosting. A DREAM. (Also gluten free though you wouldn't know it)

My family and I went to Emma's Dell on Easter Monday. It was very busy but the staff were totally unflustered. They were great and so was the food.

Came with 3 friends. Personally my food was nice however, my friends food looked sad for the prices and what came on the plates. Very over priced and service could be much better.

A first for me in Grasmere, great Cumberland Sausage butty. They serve all sorts of loose leaf tea in quirky teapots.

Horrible wet weather day in Grasmere and was the 1st cafe we came across that accepted dogs, was empty so probably not a good sign. Cakes and scones looked good but we were after a small lunch. All 4 of us went for the Cumberland sausage ciabatta. When it arrived it was a very small roll with 3 ‘chipolata’ sausages! Disappointed to say the least and not cheap either. Should not advertise on the menu if not what you are serving. Teas were ok and made with loose leaf tea. All in all I wouldn’t recommend as not much of an atmosphere unless you wanted to listen to the 3 young girls working there chattering as nothing else to do.

If you advertise that you serve Artisan coffee then you should really teach your staff how to make it. I ordered a flat white - what arrived was a bitter milky coffee, like a bad latte.

Dont bother visiting if you want good coffee. Lemon cake was doughy. We complained and therefore no charge. On a positive note the sausage sandwich ( brown bread ) was tasty.

Two of us had bowls of soup. Huge and delicious! Came with gorgeous rolls (which tasted fresh baked). Good value. Just what we needed on a cold January day!

Quick food stop after a walk up to Helm Crag. I had the smoked salmon and scrambled egg crepe which was very nice, but quite expensive. However, you can order a child portion of any crepe if you just want something light which is what my friend did.

Came in here based on a recommendation from locals. Usually go to Grasmere Garden Village but they no longer allow dogs which seems like a suicidal business move. Wasn’t disappointed - good coffee, and the scones/cakes were served fast and were very good quality. The staff made us feel welcome (especially the dogs!) so will be returning.

To be honest went in without huge expectations, but turned out to be a terrific lunch spot on a wet day in Grasmere. We grabbed the last table. The staff were competent, available and pleasant. We had x2 mushroom soups with fresh ciabatta rolls. Really good size bowls, and the soup was delicious. Also a pot of tea, and a very decent latte (reasonably good microfoam, and a bit of art) . Good value for money, and we'll definitely be back. Highly recommended.

went to Emma's dell for a change and was not disappointed. we were met by a lovely young lady and shown a table. we ordered coffee and cheesecake and it was a real treat. the place is spotless and a great place to chat while having lunch. a big thank you to jane and her team for making the afternoon really nice. i will be back

Lovely little spot with tasty food and friendly service. They were happy to split a sandwich over two plates for us, which was really nice too! They also do lovely smoothies.

£10 for 1 'smore' crepe with the most bland chocolate, marshmallow and cream is truly a disgrace. The chocolate milkshake was also very blank and tasted more like plain milk. Real shame as we have had good food here before but this is a rea let down for the very high prices. Better options in Grasmere that are worth the money.

After sitting down we were told that wet dogs weren’t allowed. Our dog, a retriever, wasn’t ‘wet’ except for damp paws and slightly damp tummy his back and sides were bone dry as it had been raining a little earlier. There was another family with a dog but because it was small it seemed that was acceptable. A cafe in the middle of the lakes that discriminates against large breed dogs despite ours being very well behaved in cafes is despicable . Discriminatory against larger dogs even when mostly empty, stuck up pretentious cafe that frankly doesn’t deserve the business. Plenty of lovely friendly cafes more suited to the area so it’s lost business. Oh, and they asked if I had something for him to lie on as if their floor was so precious despite people with muddy wet boots being allowed in. Unless you’re in your Sunday best don’t even think about trying to sit down here.

Fabulous food which was such good value. We has a cheese scone and cherry scone with tea and a coffee. The venue was also great, fantastically clean with attentive staff.

Popped in for a bite to eat mid-afternoon. Lovely service, and the cheese scones were amazing. Highly recommend. Only slight negative was it didn't feel very cosy, doors open and lightweight furniture.

We went back to our go to lunch place when we went back to Grasmere in July and it was a bit later than usual so wasn't as busy, the crepes were lovely as always and the staff very helpful as usual

The coffee was lovely, we had an iced and a hot latte. We also had the Eton Mess crepe which was very fresh and a good sized portion. I had a scone with cream and jam, the scone was huge and fresh. We sat outside on the decking which was lovely, I would visit here again in a heartbeat. Very friendly staff, quick service and clean facilities.

Lovely little cafe in the heart of Grasmere. Lots of interesting drinks on the menu which I loved as I get bored with the same old thing. I had an Apple and Blackberry tea which was so tasty! There are some tables and chairs outside where you can sit and watch the world go by. Very friendly staff.

We have been here a few times over the past few years and have mainly been for the wonderful crepes that they do, certainly fill a hearty appetite, always a smile on entering and we have been lucky to always get a table as it is busy sometimes, if you can get out outside on a nice day and watch the world go by.

Called in for a light lunch having walked to Grassmere from Ambleside. Delicious crepes (bacon and maple syrup for me and Hey Pesto for my friend) followed by a deliciously moist shared flapjack and Italian Lemon Cake. Staff were very friendly and attentive.
