In all my seventy-never-you-mind years, the warmest welcome ever in an eatery. And not the professional synthetic welcome one sometimes gets, this was the real deal. What lovely people. Friday evening, 1830h, pretty full. Mostly locals, always a good sign. A boisterous family table of eight for instance, replaced while we there by a family table of nine. The bar, locals, busy. Even so, service was quick. The food is... sshhh... cheap, but very good and plenty of it. A cut above the normal standard of pub grub. I had whitebait, steak, cheese cake. The home-made white chocolate banoffie cheese cake at £4.50 was remarkable, like a marriage between a cheese and a cake. Unfortunately it came with two spoons and it got raided, shall we say, by someone who said they were too full for a dessert. Hmmph. Overall, great, just great. One tip... if you visit of a sunny summer's evening, as you drive up to the car park you'll need your sun glasses.

Excellent vegan food, coffee and bread. Using quality ingredients with attention to detail. Understand your going - but you'll be missed. Where will I get such good cake now? Awaiing your next chapter with baited breath :)

Prohib is a chilled venue with a cheeky edge.. On our recent trip to Ulverston, we were treated to an evening of top notch food and drink. All accompanied by dreamy live vocals, from local artist, Hayden. Service was amazing. Henry and Billy took such great care of us all night long. Nothing was too much trouble. They were attentive, fun and, most importantly.. make a mean cocktail. We couldn’t have asked for any more. A perfect evening, so thankyou boys! To anyone after a night out at a sexy speakeasy. This place is a vibe.

Three of us enjoyed brunch. Glad we booked as it was busy. 3 different meals were all nicely cooked. If I had just one small criticism , the hash brown on breakfast was a bit too fragrant with herbs , to be on a breakfast plate. But that's just a personal taste thing! Friendly helpful staff. Nice atmosphere.

10/10 from me. T/T Food. We arrived at closing time, chef was closing the kitchen, they didn't have to serve us. Manager, Chef, staff went out of Thier way to serve us, and told us they can provide us with a takeaway. Overall Excellent service 👍🏾 from everyone in the restaurant, more importantly THE FOOD WAS BANGING, Tasted like Home cooking. Its 7am and I will finish off the Chicken Tikka Biryani and King prawn puree 🫡. Great place if your in the Lake District, Great bants with the manager. 🌟✨🔥

Second visit in a couple of months. Food is so flavoursome, it’s great to be able to try the different dishes rather than have a plate of food. Staff are knowledgeable of the food they are serving and make suggestions of things that go well together. Beetroot & goats cheese a favourite, hummus - delicious 😋 Will certainly be back for more and keen to try the new brunch menu. Well done team L’al 😃

Visited Ulverston today for the Dickensian Weekend and what a fantastic day it was. Looking for somewhere to stop for a drink and a bite to eat we popped in. It was super busy and they were quick to accommodate us, very friendly staff warm and welcoming. Would definitely return Thank You x

I visited here on a day trip to Ulverston. Found the Market Hall completely by chance and then spotted this deli in the corner. I treated myself to a £5 cheese board and as there is only myself in my house who eats cheese, this was perfect. I’ve just eaten it now and it was the best cheese board I have ever had. I also got some pickled onions from the counter, they were delish too. How I wished I lived closer to this amazing stall!
