The best restaurants in Ulverston Town South Lakeland North West

Very very busy, went on a Saturday night. Took a little while to be served, once served went outside but no seating available as it was very packed. Good priced drinks and a lovely atmosphere regardless

Had a meal at WSBI with friends last night for my birthday! Everything on the menu sounded so delicious it was really hard to choose, but we ordered 3 or 4 dishes each as the waiter suggested and everything was delicious! The portions were generous, great selection for vegetarians and meat eaters alike and I loved the fusion elements of dishes such as the salt and pepper halloumi and the katsu arancini balls! The waiter that looked after us was attentive and friendly. Everything was reasonably priced for a lovely evening, I’ll be back again soon for sure!

First few times I've tried here it's been nice but the last few times I've had carbonara pasta it has been so bland, the man behind the counter had dirty hands as well not good for health & hygiene 🤢🤢 It just put me right off

We have visited this tea room before when in the area. Excellent choice of teas, coffees, and food. If you have room, have one of the delicious cakes. Great service. On your way out, visit their shop to purchase some teas, coffees & provisions.

My wife and I booked a table for two 6-30 pm on a Saturday evening and sat amongst only 2 other tables of customers in the restaurant. Good music in the background playing at a low level, very friendly staff and had vegetarian biryani, chicken tandoori and peshwari naan, onion bhajis, excellent taste, two red wines. Very reasonable £36.50 . Highly recommended.

Disappointing birthday celebration meal for my wife. While the service was good and the atmosphere was OK the food was poor. The main couses were disappointing. The lasagne my wife ordered was particularly poor. It lacked meat, and the dish was swimming in oil. The dish was so poor, my wife only ate a couple of mouthfuls , and then we swapped dishes she had some of my Betullas pasta. I got half way through the lasagne but gave up. It made such a poor impact I didn't want to eat anything else.

We came twice this Bank Holiday to meet family and friends as we like this place from previous experiences. Unfortunately, this once very nice pub with good service and helpful staff, failed on this occasion. Toilets were poorly maintained i.e. door locks and toilet paper missing. We attempted to order food just before 2pm (menu stated serving until 3pm), only to be told that they take no more orders as kitchen is too busy. This affected our plans. In addition, waitress refused to switch on heaters in the beer garden. We were told that they can only be on when outside temperature was under the certain level. Please note that it was 11 C and we were in the shade with no place to sit inside! After pointing this out to the waitress, she shouted a rude comment: “I am not cold!”. Overall, it seems that the place is badly managed. We will probably give it another chance for old time sake, but we might avoid it if continues to deteriorate.

Not too bad, but too expensive. Almost £6 just for vegetables.

A fine country cafe, lovely staff in a fine setting. Dont expect haute cuisine, just good wholesome food to complement the fine walking on offer all around

This must be the worst Chinese restaurant/ carry out in the entire world, they must have thrown them out of china for cooking so badly, we ordered the complete meal for 2 and extra vegetable spring rolls, ok , the ribs were good as was the prawn crackers , the spring rolls were mostly onions , the sweet and sour chicken was just about ok, don’t get me wrong I got loads of chicken, the chicken curry was probably the worst curry in the entire world, bland watered down tasteless some kinda sauce , but never curry, , the rice was bland to , only went here because after looking up the best one to go to ( the Rainbow) it was closed , so we seen this one open and said we would try it , should have read the reviews first or went to the chippey , the young lad taking the order nice and quiet, the older man ( delivery driver) was a really nice man , well seeing he wasn’t rushed of his feet , but we didn’t know as we were on holiday, but don’t go

We popped in here for a light breakfast and hot drinks. A friendly little establishment which the locals clearly like to frequent. It was clearly noticeable that anyone within the building can use the coffee facilities, and without washing their hand first. Which isn't the best hygiene practice when you are serving paying customers. Where we sat we had a clear view of the estate agent offices upstairs, and we also got a little more than we bargained for, as the mature lady upstairs was completely oblivious to her lack of modesty!!!

Came here for some food and drinks for a joint birthday ,my 20th and my friend’s 18th ,and it was so lovely! the man on the bar was kind and smiley and made great cocktails despite being very new to his role and only making a handful off the menu so far. The food was lovely ,although we definitely underestimated the size 😂overall it was the best birthday and the best service and I will definitely be coming again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We ordered food by calling the restaurant for a delivery and it is accepted. After 30 mins the restaurant calls back mentioning different rules for delivery which were conveniently forgotten when the order was accepted. Please grow up guys, do not trouble the visitors of this beautiful place.

Excellent Tasty food, friendly staff spotlessly clean been many times over 15 yrs when I visit Ulverston never disappointed
