The best restaurants in Ulverston Town South Lakeland North West

Very very busy, went on a Saturday night. Took a little while to be served, once served went outside but no seating available as it was very packed. Good priced drinks and a lovely atmosphere regardless

Once again the food was absolutely sublime! The Korean chicken was absolutely stunning and the teriyaki beef bao buns were amazing! The kitchen were wonderfully accommodating with an unusual intolerance. My Partner and I went on valentines day weekend and it was very busy, with not a single empty chair! This did however, impact the service that we were given. We waited 25mins for our order to be taken and our food started to arrive before we had received a glass of water never mind our actual alcohol based drinks. We were sat on a table for two and when I asked if the empty plates could be taken away, to make way for the new food arriving, I was told to 'wait one minute' and they were still there when we were waiting to pay. We were sat under the speaker, which wasn't the most comfortable dining experience. And even with all the people in the restaurant, it was still very cold. I have previously had a wonderful dining experience and would not hesitate to return, but think having 2 servers and 1 bartender on a very busy Saturday evening was never going to result in 5* service.

First few times I've tried here it's been nice but the last few times I've had carbonara pasta it has been so bland, the man behind the counter had dirty hands as well not good for health & hygiene 🤢🤢 It just put me right off

Came 28.2.2025 for my birthday treat. Won't be back again. Hubby's starter came Bert wedges one of the 2 was empty. Complained staff apologised. My pizza brandish, soggy bottom. By the time I had eaten half the other half had gone cold. The couple to my left also returned a starter, and the lady also left quite a lot of her main meal

Food here was spot on. I ordered the lamb tikka saga, plenty of tender meat. All staff were excellent and attentive. Will definitely return if working in the area again

Excellent food , waitress was very attentive. Have been to the Rose and Crown many times and it never disappoints.

Excellent Indian food at a very reasonable price. Lovely welcome and service from AJ. Apparently these are new owners and the name of the restaurant is to be changed to the Blue Elephant. Highly reccomended

We have visited this tea room before when in the area. Excellent choice of teas, coffees, and food. If you have room, have one of the delicious cakes. Great service. On your way out, visit their shop to purchase some teas, coffees & provisions.

Fresh and delicious! The best tofu I’ve ever had from a Chinese! Really generous portion sizes too.

A fine country cafe, lovely staff in a fine setting. Dont expect haute cuisine, just good wholesome food to complement the fine walking on offer all around

This must be the worst Chinese restaurant/ carry out in the entire world, they must have thrown them out of china for cooking so badly, we ordered the complete meal for 2 and extra vegetable spring rolls, ok , the ribs were good as was the prawn crackers , the spring rolls were mostly onions , the sweet and sour chicken was just about ok, don’t get me wrong I got loads of chicken, the chicken curry was probably the worst curry in the entire world, bland watered down tasteless some kinda sauce , but never curry, , the rice was bland to , only went here because after looking up the best one to go to ( the Rainbow) it was closed , so we seen this one open and said we would try it , should have read the reviews first or went to the chippey , the young lad taking the order nice and quiet, the older man ( delivery driver) was a really nice man , well seeing he wasn’t rushed of his feet , but we didn’t know as we were on holiday, but don’t go

Excellent Tasty food, friendly staff spotlessly clean been many times over 15 yrs when I visit Ulverston never disappointed

We popped in here for a light breakfast and hot drinks. A friendly little establishment which the locals clearly like to frequent. It was clearly noticeable that anyone within the building can use the coffee facilities, and without washing their hand first. Which isn't the best hygiene practice when you are serving paying customers. Where we sat we had a clear view of the estate agent offices upstairs, and we also got a little more than we bargained for, as the mature lady upstairs was completely oblivious to her lack of modesty!!!

Ideal in middle town thry do warn can be noisy ..and it can but cheap n cheerful value for m oney with brekkie included

This is a great takeaway that uses only quality ingredients to make their pizzas and kebabs. The customer service is 2nd to none. I can’t recommend them highly enough. I made a mistake with my order tonight and within 15 minutes they had delivered me this delicious pizza! (James Special with pineapple) Thank you all at Flames!
