Naaz in South Lakeland

We have eaten here many times, the food, service, staff are a joy to be with. Balti, Buna, Tandori, Masala and others i have tried, different rice, the dips, just a delight, now came across my go to meal recently, Machli Baza, Exotic fish marinated in various spices & shallow fried, served with a spicy prawn saice, An exquisite fish dish. Absolutely delicious, served with Lemon Rice, oh what joy, the fish is plentiful and just melts in your mouth. Looking forward to go again very soon.

Beautiful food and very kind staff who would go out of their way for you to make sure that you were fully satisfied. The food was amazing and very tasty. Certainly recommend.

Having lived in Birmingham for 30 years we are used to high quality Asian food. This place has blown us out of the water. The food is superb and to top it off the service is second to none. You don’t feel suffocated but every need attended to. Value for money is also amazing especially if you go on a Sunday or Monday ( 30%off). It was so good we went two days on the trot whilst on holiday. We will always come here when we’re in the area

Called here Friday evening from Kendal . 5 pm . It was open and we were welcomed in . We were served by the most friendly ,polite , young man. Drinks, starters , mains , delicious , big portions ,great value for money , good products . Will return soon . Thankyou , best value ever.

We were going to The Coro theatre for a play and wanted to eat early. What a lovely surprise this place was. Food was DELICIOUS and the staff were lovely. The prices were really good too. I have paid a lot more for food of less quality. Can't recommend highly enough. Great place. 👌✨✨

We have visited Naaz's restaurant for the last two years. Naaz's food is absolutely delicious, staff so lovely & kind & owner of restaurant is the most lovely soul you could ever wish to meet! We cannot recommend this beautiful restaurant highly enough, we are always welcomed like friends. We look forward to returning next year.

Visited on a Saturday night. The place was busy and the waitress was run off her feet, but we were still served in plenty of time. The food was excellent, just a shame we didn't have room for it all! Would visit again.

Had a takeaway for 14 of us, delivered to a remote campsite (Birchbank Farm) - food was piping hot and delicious, every meal enjoyed. The guys couldn’t have been more accommodating, very friendly team. Definitely recommend. Thanks guys 👍

If you're thinking of a takeaway on a Sunday or Monday, then I would recommend trying Naaz as they give 30% off on these days. We had an excellent meal at a very reasonable price.

As a family we have eaten here before and not had any problems, the staff are usually friendly and the food is lovely. Today unfortunately we received raw chicken and then we were expected to pay for this chicken. When we said we were unwilling to pay for this the staff became rude stating "was all of it raw?!".I would have previously recommend this place but I will no longer be doing that.

We regularly use Naaz for takeaway, although we live out of town we always go in to collect rather than use the delivery service. We phone ahead and the food is always prepared on time and is really tasty! Portions are generous and flavours are authentic. I highly recommend the Naaz.

We were a little worried that Naaz would be very busy but it wasn't and the service was great. We had poppadums to start and a decent bottle of wine at a very good price. I then had prawns on puri and my wife had garlic mushrooms to start. For my main I had king prawn balti extra hot, which was very spicy though not with the amazing aroma you sometimes get. My wife had four side dishes, chick peas, spinach, veg bhaji and tarka dhal, all different and flavoursome. We waddled off home very full. Everything was very good, hot and full of different flavours. Good price.

We booked a table and arrived a few minutes early, but were told that they had accepted a large group booking and didn't have a table for us, so it would be a 15 minute wait.We weren't in a rush and try to be understanding so said we'd wait. 25 minutes later I asked about our table:it wasn't ready but would be soon, so they took our order and after another 5 minutes or so we were seated.Another 30 minutes pass and no food has arrived, so I check with the waiter. He goes to check with the kitchen and says it will be out soon. Another 15 minutes pass with no sign of our food and I ask again: he says he'll check but doesn't return. I ask another waitress who goes to check and again says our food will be out.After a further 15 minutes (we'd been in the restaurant for 90 minutes at this point) we decided to cut our losses, left, and went to eat elsewhere - where we were seated and served within 20 minutes.This was literally the worst service I've ever had from a restaurant. I'm normally a fairly understanding person and we've both worked in retail and service industries: we know mistakes happen... but there's a point at which you have to accept it's not a mistake but is bad service. Admittedly they didn't charge us for our drinks, if that's any consolation

Had the Naaz Special curry that involves a selection of meats and stuff. It was lovely. Expect discount Sunday and Monday! Yummy

Una cosa que siempre me sorprende de Tripadvisor es la gran variedad de reseñas, y el Naaz parece mostrar esto muy claramente. He comido aquí varias veces (dos veces comiendo y tres TA). La comida siempre ha sido excelente, grandes porciones y muy sabrosa. Sí, el restaurante está un poco descuidado y bien iluminado, pero el personal es bueno y la comida está bien. Llévatelo listo a tiempo y entregarán hasta Gawthwaite (también a tiempo), así que realmente no puedo encontrar mucho de qué quejarme.

Llegamos el lunes con la familia de Alemania y todos quedamos impresionados con la comida y el servicio a pesar de todas las malas críticas que hemos tenido en cada visita que hemos tenido aquí. Pedimos del menú el shami kebab y el shish kebab para compartir, que estaban calientes y sabrosos, y las bandejas de encurtidos y popadoms que eran agradables y frescas. Elegimos una variedad de comidas principales que de nuevo llegaron a su debido tiempo al terminar nuestros entrantes y todos fueron muy calurosos y satisfactorios y mucha carne muy sabrosa en la comida. El ambiente era muy relajante y el restaurante estaba muy limpio y ordenado, con una bonita decoración. El servicio del personal fue muy cálido y amable y servicial. Los domingos y lunes hay un 30% de descuento en comidas, por el precio resultó muy razonable para los 6 de nosotros para comer. También hay un 20% de descuento en los precios para llevar. Reservamos una mesa para 7 y pedimos una comida cada uno y arroz / patatas fritas y un par de pittas. Uno de nosotros pedimos solo papas fritas. . Esperamos más de una hora antes de que llegara y faltaban 5 porciones de chips. . Así que todos tuvimos solo nuestro curry, algunos tenían arroz. El tipo dijo que iría a buscar las fichas, pero no salió nada. . Nos quejamos y salieron unos 30 minutos después de nuestra comida, así que nuestras comidas estaban frías o terminadas. Teniendo en cuenta que la persona que solo pidió papas fritas tuvo que sentarse y observar cómo comíamos y ver cómo se enfría su salsa de curry antes de que llegasen las papas fritas. . . Nadie realmente comió sus fichas cuando realmente llegaron. . . Probablemente nunca volvería aquí de nuevo. ¿Cómo se olvida el orden de la mitad de las mesas? My husband and I went here for a treat . The chef made me a curry without cream as I am allergic to dairy. I asked for coconut cream and they had no idea what it was. My curry was the worst ever. My husband's was unbearable too. The actual restaurant was in need of decorating and there was water marks on the walls and cushions and smelt damp. Waitress couldn't speak English either.

Service was poor and when the food eventually came , it was only luke warm. Try somewhere else in Ulverston.

We visited with family last week, party of 6, very disappointing meal indeed, there’s was an awful smell as we entered the restaurant, the service wasn’t great either, and the food was very disappointing, I ordered the chicken tikka, the plate wasn’t even sizzling as they normally are, the chicken wasn’t tasty at all, so 4 our if the 6 meals wasn’t up to standard, we spent a lot of money and very poor indeed.

Always a decent curry at Naaz. Menu includes everything you'd expect to see and it's all lovely, we've been so many times we've tried most dishes apart from the very hot ones!

We have been frequenting Naaz for several years and have always been happy with the authentic food, the care to detail, such as making sure I can access gluten free meals, and the lovely service, until recently. It has been going downhill for a few months but plummeted to new depths tonight. The server was unable to tell me what food was gluten free and, even after checking, gave me the wrong information. The food tasted fine but was left on our table for a good half hour after we had clearly finished eating. We had to ask for the bill. We didn't get the nice hot cloths that used to be on offer. Instead, a surely waitress threw a plate on our table with a couple of chocolates on it and snarled...'The cash machine doesn't have a signal down here you will have to pay at the till.' and then moved on. Now ..... we have paid at our table for years in NAAZ....Something isn't right. We will be trying British Raj next time.

Decided Indian food for tea and tried for starters Garlic Mushrooms which were excellent Chicken Pakoras which I thought were good wife a little greasy Chicken Chat pancake a little disappointed and Onion Bajies which were a tad on the dry side but tasted ok.

Comí aquí con la familia anoche. La comida era cálida y nos dijeron que cuando ordenamos bebidas no pudimos pedir poppadoms hasta que pedimos nuestro plato principal! ! Curiosamente, normalmente lo hacemos así que están en camino mientras esperamos por nuestros platos principales, pero aquí no. Para una noche de sábado a las 9 pm, este lugar estaba vacío, además de nosotros y un par de otras mesas, lo que parecía extraño. Llegó la comida, estaba bien, no estaba muy caliente, no nos preguntaron si nos gustaría otra bebida y el servicio en general estaba por debajo de las expectativas. Además, al revisar nuestra factura, nos habían cobrado en exceso en dos ocasiones, se compró a la atención del personal y ¡pusieron otra mesa de bebidas en nuestra factura! ! Así que revisa tu factura con cuidado.

We eat here on a Thursday evening whilst visiting the area. The food was average not unpleasant but luke warm! The service was fine although we were greeted by a member of staff who was as miserable as! Won't be rushing back in afraid.

Tuvimos una gran comida con un amigo. Ambos teníamos la misma comida que comprendía de Samosas para empezar, que era sabrosa y servida con una ensalada encantadora. Luego, los dos elegimos el curry especial malayo, que era muy suave y muy afrutado y sin chiles, que es lo que pedimos. El pan de Naan era casero y delicioso. Muy sabrosa comida y volvería y lo recomendaría.

Awful service tonight , placed a order at 7.30pm it came 1 hr 40 minutes after only to find out that it was the wrong order ... okay fine , things happen. Rang up straight away and was told the correct curries would be with us in 20 minutes. We waited 30 minutes until we rang again to be told they are doing nothing about it as the chef doesn’t want to make another ... what ?! After ordering them to either refund or bring the curries now I heard a voice in the background telling the lady to just hang up! Absolutely fuming at this point and had to get in the car at 10pm with the now stone cold order and drive there to demand a refund. Absolutely shocking customer service and I definitely will not be ordering any food from them whatsoever !

First impressions were good. The menu had original dishes on it. Papadoms came quickly although slow to take order. Food was OK. Very bland, the spice jars must have gone missing! The veggie nan had no vegetables. On the plus side the staff were good and knowledgable.

We went with family and friends so that we can have Indian food. We odered butter chicken. Meat bhuna, meat Jalfrezi but all dishes were sweet and taste were horrible. We brought this issue to waiter but did not take any action. Awful service and will never go back to this so called Indian restaurant. I would not recommend to anyone to go this restaurant. Never and ever again.

Went whilst passing through over night, as we all love our local Indian restaurants and hadn't visited them lately. Absolutely disgusting when we finally got a menu after 20 min wait at the table and 15 mins in the bar area, it was greasy, chewy and luke warm. The waiter was serley and rude and the manager was rude to other customers. Don't go near, if you like Indian food you'll never eat it again. Can't look at Samosas or Onion Bahjis now.

We were struggling to find somewhere to eat at 10pm on a Sunday and the staff at Naaz were so welcoming and attentive even though we were the only late night diners and probably preventing the poor people going home on time! The food was wonderful and great quality. Couldn’t have asked for better food or service, we both went home very full and happy! Thanks!

Got there early which was a good plan food was good restaurant got really busy..wanted a desert but no one came to take our orders so left slightly disappointed...

I felt either hassled to decide or ignored by the waitress although we were the only diners when we wanted an early evening meal. I suppose they call it table service The food was OK, my wife was happier with her food than I was with mine. Naans were good. There is a discount on Mondays which makes it better value.

I visited NAZZ with my wife. Started off well with ordering being taken and drinks served. Then the food arrived, it was very bland, and all dishes tasted the same. I asked to speak with the manager, firstly a young man arrived I explained the issues and asked him to taste the food. He did I never seen an issue. Then I asked for the manager once again. Then the ‘manager’ arrived! (Use the term manager loosely). Her attitude was terrible by saying YOU are not getting a discount you will pay the full price.....!!!!! Then she informed me she had called the police! I was polite and I know the law! Tried to explain it was a wast of time due to it being civil matter but she never seemed to grasp what I was saying. Police arrived and I explained the issue checked my ID and seen I wasent the one being unreasonable. Then the best bit of this utter disgracful experience! The police were told by (so called manager) I had threatened to ‘smash the restaurant up’ absolutely blatant liles and clear attempt to get me into trouble. I left after been given the free light from the police. Seriously contemplating during you for the disgracful way you handled the situation. It about paying for the food I was raising my concerns THATS ALL.
