The best restaurants in Castleton Rochdale North West

Turned up on Halloween night at 5.15 to find it all shuttered up.... rang the numbers on the sign only to be told they were closed and didn't know when they would be re-opening.

The is totally amazing the best I’ve tasted in my life everything is really nice 👌 All dishes were really nice My children loved it even the baby was making yummy noises the Naan bread was so soft and fluffy and it was all well worth the money and and night off from cooking

A couple of weeks ago while passing through Castleton after a customer visit, I decided it was the perfect opportunity to stop by His’n’Hers for a bite to eat. Having heard quite a few positive comments about their shawarma from others, I was eager to see what the buzz was all about. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I was informed that their shawarma wouldn’t be available until the evening. While initially a little disappointed, the 2 owners were quick to recommend some other options from their menu, which I appreciated. Given that it was lunchtime and I was looking for something not too heavy, I opted for their grilled chicken burger meal. One thing that immediately stood out to me was their commitment to quality and freshness. Unlike many places where food feels mass-produced, their chicken fillets are marinated and prepared entirely from scratch right there on the premises. You can see this care in action, as the grill is positioned directly in front of the counter, giving customers a full view of the preparation process. It was reassuring to watch my meal being freshly made rather than pre-assembled or reheated. The burger itself was impressive. The chicken fillet was tender, flavourful, and perfectly cooked, nestled in a generously sized burger bun with crisp, fresh salad and just the right amount of sauce. Each bite was a delight, with the marinated flavors of the chicken shining through. The chips that came with it were equally noteworthy – hot, crispy, and fried to perfection. It was a simple meal done exceptionally well, leaving me feeling satisfied without being overly full. Another thing worth mentioning is their ethical approach to product selection. It was good to see that they don’t stock Coca-Cola products. It’s always a bonus when a place aligns with values you support. Overall, my experience at His’n’Hers was fantastic, and I’m already planning to return. The two owners were friendly and helpful, the food was fresh and delicious. I’m especially eager to come back one evening to try their much-praised shawarma. If it’s anything like the grilled chicken burger, I know I won’t be disappointed!

Out of the way Castleton Chinese Chippy and takeaway. Lovely food, quick and friendly service. They dont deliver but will take telephone orders for collection. I will be back.

Lovely little dog friendly pub.

A great pub with real old-fashioned character. Well kept Beers, and well run by a lovely young couple. Well worth the 6 mile round trip walk every time. If there were more pub's like this there wouldn't be so many closing....

As a person who just moved into the area I'd thought I'll give the place a try as I've heard good reviews how wrong I was. After being sat down with a table 10-15 mins in no acknowledgement of what I would like to order we were literally in their eyeline at the front. It's something I'll never go again and would rather travel to other places

The food is always really good, everything is so flavourful and fresh, the delivery price is great and all the everything always comes nice and hot ❤️ it's a great place and everyone always puts in a lot of effort to make sure the food is amazing! I would recommend trying everything you can 😁

Helpful when making booking. Polite service in shop. Nice afternoon tea. Beautifully decorated children's Halloween themed treats. Good selection to choose from. Vegetarian options provided. Space was a little tight where we were seated. I hadn't realised it was small inside.

The paella was shocking .super watery and had a bad taste probably from the clam water being tipped in with the clams but was resolved instantly refunded and gifted . The staff are amazing as is the food : mishaps do happen and will not be put off .

Ordered online on Sunday 27.10.24 from thier website. Order never arrived yet money was taken. No answer over the phone and the shop seems to be shut. Just eat has suspended orders so I assume the place has now closed but thier website is still active. I will now need to contact the Bank to dispute this payment.

Don’t recommend this place unless you want to be let down on the day your suppose to be collecting the cake - thanks to this lady we had to rush around and find someone who could make a cake at last minute. Also has a bad attitude towards customers who are paying a lot of money. Just to reply to your comment; you had no intention of making the cake hence your message of ‘saves me a job making it when I get home from work’ the cake was expected at 11am you said this would not be done until the evening - on the day of expected pick up as arranged with no prior notice of this change you actually said ‘you will try have this done before the celebration started’ TRY is not good enough after you had changed the agreed time. How can we risk having no cake for a birthday party? You had plenty of notice to make this cake yet still failed to keep your end of the deal.

An excellent pub with a good range of drinks, great food and very friendly staff. Dog and child friendly. Spacious interior and a decent beer garden.

Very cozy restaurant with very nice, friendly and helpful staff. The food is at a good level, obviously the chef knows his job and performs quite well. Everything was delicious and there was no delay between meals.
