Great craft beer bar. Nicely decorated high street bar serving well kept and reasonably priced real ales and ciders. Really worth a visit if you are in the area - handy for the railway station and on a good Manchester bus route. And given there is stuff all else of note locally, you'll have plenty of of time to stay and have a few more beers....

Called in late night for a drink on the way home..been in on a number of occasions great local bar with a varied selection of ales, ciders and lagers!..reasonably priced

Great atmosphere, everyone is friendly in there, especially the dog that was wandering around. Brilliant staff. They also have a loyalty system that gets you free drinks. Lovely little place. No parking, so park at the co-op nearby or an alternative.

Excellent little micro pub 👌🏻 the beer was best pint in ages heart and soul lovely!! and Chris the bar staff was really good company and friendly it came 2nd in a camra competition a couple of years ago will definitely be going back trying the other ales

What a place! The beer, the owners, the locals, the decor, the atmosphere! Absolutely brilliant! I Walked for a pint after a long walk, and I didn’t want to leave. I almost forgot the music! Excellent work 😃. Looking forward to my next visit. 👍🏻.

Finally got around to visiting (26th Feb) for my birthday which coincidentally was also the old post office ale houses birthday. Great beer, lovely cosy fire and great to get free food. Wish Id realised to check I could use my CAMRA card (silly me).

Called in here the other night after a break of about four years. I used to work nearby as a coach driver and would call in for one on the way home. Well, those four years have done the place no harm at all. The beer was superb (and I mean as good as I have ever drunk), the atmosphere was friendly, and there was a formidable selection of shorts for those who like them. Castleton is a bit of a dump, which made this a daring venture when it opened, but the gamble has obviously paid off. They have now opened another bar in Rochdale and I am looking forward to visiting soon.

This really was the post office in castleton ( rochdale ) as a real ale pub camra members use it ( discount price for members ,,( card required ) nice warm fire , friendly people and helpful staff 😀 also dog friendly passed this pub on numerous occasions never went in after today though will return definitely 👍

A fantastic ale house - Always have a wonderful selection of keg and cask beers on, and it's great to be able to support a small local business that really cares about it's customers. Also dog friendly which is a massive plus!

Always amazingly kept beers, a lovely fire, and amazing selection of keg beers, ciders and a beer fridge stocked with world beers. The music isn’t bad either. Always a warm friendly atmosphere and dog friendly. A real gem with great public transport connections!!!

Well, you can't not love a great local that let you order a chinese in, can you? Highly recommend. Will be going back next time the Greens play (and beat) Rochdale AFC!

Very good apart from a dog who constantly barking while the owner was sat at the bar with it.Had to go and sit outside and close the door.It barked for over 1 hr.A few people did walk out.But she wasn't going anywhere

Dont use this pub it supports medical apartheid. Compalins about a 60k loss down lockdown then critizes people marching against lockdowns.

Unfortunately this pub us run by ignorant backwater hics who are in support of medical aparteid.. avoid at all costs..

Great place. Great selection of local ales, varied playlist of rock tunes in the background, and friendly staff. Log fire for when the nights draw in. Dog friendly, as well!

Very friendly staff who go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, whether it’s your first visit or your hundredth. They have a great selection of real ales and spirits, plus a selection of alcohol free beers for those that are driving. If you are anywhere near this pub it is well worth a visit. 10/10

What can I say! We love this Ale house, its worth a visit and its across from the railway station, a good pub to try when on your Ale trail.

Pretty good beer but yapping dogs were annoying and persuaded me to leave sooner than later.

The coldest pub i have ever been in i could not enjoy my pint it was so cold they need to sort it out it could be a good place if it was warm wear plenty of layers if you decide to visit
