Had a meal on the day of new menu-disappointed that there was no choice for plain food except fish and chips!-no Scampi-no Chicken-please relook at this for plain eaters! Beef was tough in parts and the new potatoes with the fish were hard and bland! The duck was amazing as was the Eton Mess-so please please look at putting chicken on your menu -also have a mains salmon that’s not smoked!-on the whole lovely food as always-just needs a few tweeks!

Great microbar who sell a very good range of real ales and beers etc. Good service and atmosphere, outside seating area, and reassuringly busy most of the time. They don't sell food, but do have an excellent chippy next door. Highly recommended.

Staying in a hotel and couldn't face their food. Thought we'd try here due to the great reviews. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Maybe we shouldn't have compared it to our local Chinese but we did. Half the portion of chicken and chilli, coated in 5 spice in clumps! Chips very pale. If we were new to the area we wouldn't be returning. Also didn't acknowledge me when I walked in, attended to the locals who walked in after me, very good he knew their names though, that's a nice touch.

We went tonight for a family dinner. Myself and my daughter are coeliacs and it was lovely having a separate menu with lots of choice. I had the halloumi ‘fish’ and chips. It’s was delicious and such a huge portion, I had to ask for a doggy bag! My son had the inside out chicken Kiev, and it was huge and he said it was so tasty, he managed to finish it all. The service was fantastic and the waiter was really friendly without being overbearing. Overall a fantastic night and we will definitely be back.

Last visit wasn’t great, pleased to report much improved this time round. Special chow mein was really good, massive portion & plenty of meat / prawns. The spring rolls are massive & very good too.

I hate reviewing a negative experience. 2 x photos attached of Avocado on Toast. Guess which is the Maxy Farm one. This is how it was served. Bitterly disappointed. £10. I did complain and was not charged (although I did say I'd pay for the meal) and was given a complimentary cup of tea and coffee for my friend, which was a nice gesture, but this is the fifth of five poor experiences at this café. I'm done now and won't be returning. The attitude of the manager was also confrontational and intimidating. I think the photo below speaks for itself. The waiting team service was good and the café is pleasant in terms of furnishings etc., but not enough to compensate for the food.
