Last visit wasn’t great, pleased to report much improved this time round. Special chow mein was really good, massive portion & plenty of meat / prawns. The spring rolls are massive & very good too.

Not a venue we visit often & based on this visit don’t think we’ll be rushing back. The good:- 1/4 crispy duck, very nice, lots of pancakes etc & tasty meat. The bad:- Crispy chilli beef, this is my go to dish when have Chinese take away, this version was not great, lacking any taste except chilli heat. The ugly:- Chilli ribs, excessively fatty, not much meat, absolutely zero taste & definitely no chilli heat. It was a Saturday night & very busy, so perhaps not the best night to visit?

High quality time and time again. I have never once had the buyers remorse when eating food purchased from here. Consistently great quality with decent serving size and reasonable pricing. Add to that the warm welcome and this place deserves to succeed. The Chinese style curry sauce is a winner with steak pudding and chips.

Fish and chips is okay, but I don’t rate the Chinese side of food, it tastes like something you can cook yourself out of a jar, it’s tasteless and just not up to a standard other Chinese takeaways or restaurants cook and make their food.

I missed this place during lockdown. Been coming here for 3 years. The service is brilliant and the food is always tasty.

Have been using this takeaway for a long time and can't tell you how much we have missed it during lockdown. The food never disappoints, it's always hot, fresh and tasty. Add friendly staff to the mix and that's why they deserve a 5* rating.

We have been using Barton Fish and Chips for about 10 years. Fish and Chips are excellent, and the Chinese food is the best around. Staff very polite and everything clean. Never had a bad meal. Always busy.

When we can't decide whether to have a chippy or a chinese take away this place fits the bill. Always a high standard and such a wide range of choice. I love the crispy beef but then again the holland's pies are always tasty, maybe get both at once? It's always busy here and there is a reason for that, it's really good.

My favourite take away at the moment! They use vegetable oil to fry the chips and rapeseed oil for the Chinese. Finally a modern forward thinking healthier take away! Chinese is not greasy always spectacular and their fish n chips is always fresh and crispy. Highly recommend!

Always busy and the food and the service deserve the traffic it gets, if your new to the area give it a go, if your not new then you prob know how good it is.

First time we have tried this place and it certainly won't be the last one of the nicest Chinese meals we have had.Mixed curry is gorgeous and good portion and love the prawn toast. Lovely friendly staff and the place is spotlessly clean.

Been coming here since this place opened and I was a kid. In that time I’ve had the pleasure to sample most of the extensive menu. Over the years the quality has remained consistently high and I’ve not had a bad meal once. This is my go to place for fish n chips and Chinese takeaway food. The guys know their customers well and provide excellent service. Long may it continue.

We've used this takeaway for years and we always had great service and good food. It's family rune and the ingredients and cooking are great.

Over the years of visiting Barton chippy the quality has been the same.The chips are to the same high standard and taste exactly the same no matter what the time of year and spud available.Their chinese food is equally as good and of course they stock Hollands pies.

Always a good takeaway and family favourite, plenty of choice for chinese and british Fish and chips. Always spotless clean. And a long queue should confirm is other peoples favourite also.

I'm near the centre of Preston and there are plenty of takeaways on my doorstep, including many that deliver. Instead though, I hop in my car and drive for 15-20min to get to this place when I fancy Chinese, because I'm yet to find somewhere as consistently nice anywhere near the area.

Excellent fish and chips and Chinese takeaway. Not the cheapest but good portions and beautifully cooked. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Around the PR3 area will find hard to beat . Frequent at least once a week. Will not get a better takeaway

We often buy Fish & Chips twice and go and sit near the canal and just talk and enjoy each other's company. The taste is great and is best enjoyed in an outdoor environment.

Staff so friendly, food excellent whatever your choice. Brilliant. A must if you are in the area north of Preston on the A6 at Barton.

Staff are always very friendly and greet you by your first name. The food is of excellent quality. Plenty of choices from English and Chinese meals. Always very busy, best to ring first with your order to collect. Excellent service.

La sala de espera estaba muy lleno, pero que pedimos y fuimos con nuestra comida en menos de 10 minutos. Realmente sabrosa comida a un precio razonable. Mi favorito cuando en la zona.

Hemos tenido el pescado y patatas fritas desde aquí por algunos años y aunque no nos son asiduas ni estamos poco frecuente. Siempre he cantado las alabanzas de su pescado y patatas fritas en particular el pescado que ha sido siempre suculentos y muy bien cocinado. Sin embargo llamamos para pescado y patatas fritas en nuestro camino a casa esta noche y el pescado era verdaderamente horrible. No estoy seguro de que hemos tenido peor! El pescado era ridículamente delgadas dudo que era más que un cuarto de pulgada de grueso y como consecuencia fue totalmente hecha. Ambas piezas de pescado eran el mismo, así que no puedo decir que fue un. Nos quedamos muy decepcionados y me temo que no será llamada. Las patatas fritas estaban bien.

Shame they don't have a sit in restaurant as the food here is amongst the best for me. Caters for all Chinese and traditional chippy lovers. Lovely family owned and great prices.🍷👌🍜

El personal siempre fue muy amable y la comida es de excelente calidad. Muchas opciones de Inglés y comida china. Pruebe sus costillas, no te decepcionará.

Pescado y patatas fritas muy agradable de un combinado chino y pescado y llevar chip. El personal era amable y la comida era de un nivel muy alto, sin embargo un pequeño inconveniente es que la salsa era muy salada.

Used to have the luxury of living very close to the takeaway which delivered on taste time and time again. No matter what you order you can't go wrong as they offer excellent Chinese and English dishes which i find to be quite rare. The service is always fantastic the owners go out of their way to be friendly which has resulted in a strong loyal customer base.

Firstly the staff/owners are very friendly, they address most customers by their first names so this immediately gives you confidence that people come back regularly. I'm not a fan of Chinese food so had the fish and chips, the chips are exactly as I love them, the fish fresh and nicely battered, curry sauce as you'd expect is tasty. If I wasn't on a constant diet the staff would know me on first name terms too as I'd make this a regular weekly visit.

Had a chinese from here when staying at a hotel nearby, the place is on the main road and very easy to find.The food tasted great and there was plenty of food per portion.The food was cooked quickly so we were not hanging around for long and the staff were helpful and friendly.

A delicious fish and chip shop. Fish is always good with a good crunch batter. Never had a bad fish which is soggy and greasy. The chips are good. The Chinese meals are also good we never go anywhere else unless closed but always go back here.

Have not really touched Chinese food since being diagnosed with coeliac disease but since barton chippy do excellent fish and chips i asked if they could recommend something from their chinese menu gluten free. I was very impressed with how knowledgeable they were and thoroughly enjoyed my meal with no side effects afterwards.will definitely use again

Excellent, we go frequently can not fault it, great food, great service. They know every one by name, fantastic. Tried most dishes and everything very tasty, nowhere better in Preston.

A regular here for a takeaway on our way home to Garstang when we're too tired to cook! Most times try their fish and chips, which is reliably good and fresh, but have also tried many dishes from the Chinese menu, and are rarely disappointed.Sometimes gets busy, but always get served with a smile.

Sadly the Chinese meal we got from here was tasteless and over priced. We got yeung chow fried rice. Maybe we've been spoilt but this dish brought from elsewhere was full of taste and meat, prawns and veg. This however was not the case here. It could have passed for plain fried rice so bland was it. Hardly any meat or prawns or veg. We also got sweet and sour chicken. £6.90 for chicken that was so obviously reformed and tasteless I'd rather have had a cheap chicken nugget. Come on guys up your game, you can do better!!

Excellent choice, service & food. Easy telephone ordering & friendly service, with good variety of Chinese food or fish & chips. Don't eat a lot of takeaways but this is my 1st choice.

Over the last few years we have used Barton Take-away for excellent Chinese food quite regularly, we have never been unhappy, food is good, service is friendly and great value for money. Over recent months we have been eating their fish n chips, these are extremely good and we highly recommend you try, big fish and great chips.As with anywhere thats good, Barton gets busy, so you must order unless you want a little bit of a wait.

I rarely go anywhere else for a chippy or a Chinese! Luckily for me I only live across the road! Jen and the team are always very friendly and welcoming. When I walk past the shop with my dogs they are always smiling and waving and whenever we see them out and about we always stop for a chat. The food is a good price and very good quality. Absolutely love it!!

OK whenever I am home from the USA, as the Barton Chippy is about 2.5 miles from my UK home, this is always a must for one meal - usually dinner. It is strange at first when you see the chinese origin lads serving and they speak with broad Lancashire accents. The yreally are cool - I tend to alwys just go for good old Fish and Chips. I have never ever been dissappointed. One of my go to places when I am home in Preston.

me and my boy friend have just moved near here and had 3 dinners already. fish chips and gravy has never been my style but after stealing half of my boy friends the first time i've had that the last two. anyone near by should try their lush.

We had lightly battered fish with Chips and mushy peas. Our daughter had a Spanish omelette. The food was delicious and the fish really fresh.

Who said you have to be English to make great Fish n Chips?This place is tops, but quite a way out of Preston. In fact, could be nearer to Lancaster on the A6.Try their chinese meals and you won't be disappointed.

I love the fish and chips from this restaurant but every time I go there I have to queue for absolute ages. Many a time I have been in a queue for twenty minutes only to get to the front to be told I will have to wait another five minutes as they are waiting for chips, which is absolutely staggering as they have obviously had the twenty minutes I have been in the take away to put enough chips on. Even when they are very busy you need to order everything other than cod, this includes chicken breasts, sausage in batter, haddock, plaice and chicken nuggets otherwise you wait yet again. Its a real shame as the fish and chips themselves are good, but this take away is only for those who like to queue for a long time.Give yourself 30 minutes if you are getting fish and chips from this take away.

I was passing through Preston on my way to Scotland, and this place is a hidden gem for fish and chips.5/5 for service and full marks on the food too.A busy place to be on a Friday night, the locals must have it lucky :p

Been going here for some time as to be quite frank there's not a reason to go anywhere else. Foods great although I'll admit to not being very adventurous unlike my kids, the service never fails always with a smile. I've even mistakenly phoned them half an hour before opening time and they've come up with the goods. To be applauded I think and I'm not on my own as anytime you going the waiting area is full of expectant diners.
