Goosnargh chippy in Preston

Popped in for a quick Chip Barm... hit the spot perfectly after being parked on the M6 for an hour! Fresh, Hot chips, and nice soft, buttered barm. Lovely.

This I'd by far the best chipshop we have been to. I don't live in the area, but when I go near Goosnargh, we make a special journey. The food is hot, not greasy, and cooked to perfection. The batter on the fish is lovely, and you get a good-sized fish. The cheese and onion pie my daughter had was homemade and totally vegetarian. It was the first pie for a long time she finished. The price is also very reasonable too. The shop is busy everytime I've been which tells you something. Well done 👏

Although busy due to a school group having an end of term treat, service was very efficient and professional. The lunchtime special of plate pie, chips and a side was not just good value but fantastic quality - big chunks of steak! Chips not greasy or oily and portion sizes very generous. Good selection of drinks too.

The staff were absolutely brilliant throughout. There was a queue out the door but they handled everything so efficiently & I was impressed how they coped so well under pressure. They were very polite & courteous & the fish & chips were delicious! And such good value too! I'd definitely 100% recommend them

It's a very good chippy, I'd even say it was exceptional. Lovely & fresh with care to produce excellent fish and chips (among other things)... Highly recommended 👍🙂

Fantastic chippy and good value, I've been many times and it's the best I've been to and I've sampled a few places in my time ( not proud to admit it). The plate steak pie is wonderful, far superior than the Holland's rubbish. The chips are beautifully cooked, light and crispy not full of oil like some places. All the staff are courteous and friendly. Highly recommended.

Jumbo sausage and chips with curry sauce was amazing. The Sausage was pork unlike alot of chippy that use chicken or turkey. The curry sauce was amazing had a nice spice to it.

We have lived in Broughton 2 years and had Fish and Chips from here once and they were delicious. However, we have been 3 times since and its never open even though it says it is on the website. We don't have F &C very often but would have them more often if it was open.

Do not live in Goosnargh, so make a special journey. Went this evening to find the shop closed. Did call before to place an order but went onto voicemail. No mention on the voice message about the shop being closed for holidays. Would have saved me a wasted journey and time to plan an alternative meal.

Been here a few times and never disappointed with the food and service.... clean shop with fresh tasty food cooked to order in front of you.

I have never had anything as tasteless in my life , the fish was horrendous, took it back and attitudes were bad and they just laughed, ignorant staff

We had lovely fish and chips - unfortunately some of our order was wrong and we had scampi and chips without the chips - so check your order before driving off.

Having worked and travelled all around this country, I have to say that without doubt that the fish from here have to be The best I have ever tasted. Great staff and brilliant prices.

Not as good as before, they now have a phone and collect system,if you walk in , even if you're the only one you will have a long wait until your number is up .Not for me ,will not be going back anytime soon.

Best fish and chips I've eaten in years and no soggy fish due to the cardboard carton rather than polystyrene. Eco friendly too!

Never been disappointed with the quality of the food. The batter is always crisp, the fish is always flavoursome and not greasy. Never stingy with the salt and vinegar either. Service is quick and always comes with a smile. I couldn't ask for a better local chippy

In the past the food has been very good but yesterday (Friday) was probably the worst we've had, not sure if it was a different person doing the frying or what. We ordered 2 lightly battered fish and they were the exact opposite! And the chips were a variety of colours! Some green, some black and looked like they had been warmed up several times, perhaps they were just old potatoes but I don't think we will be going back for some time

The food here absolutely fantastic and prices to go with it. Bit of a wait outside due to social distancing measures but that's only to be expected with the restrictions. The 2 beautiful young ladies serving were very polite, smiley cheerful women which made me feel that I would return time and time again, even just to say Hi x.

Fantastic fish and chips! Staff recognized visiting from the states. Still piping hot even with take away and stopping for petrol on the return. Great mushy peas and gravy too!! I will return for more - highly recommend. Extremely nice staff and substantial portion size too!!

I was delighted to find this country side chippy for lunch on one of my work days they have plenty on the menu to choose from including homemade pies the lunch I had was a reasonable price and absolutely delicious, Will definitely calling again the next time I'm working in the area.

We go weekly to this chippy, after all 'Friday night is Chippy Night'. Google reviews are always to be taken with care, and one poor experience reported here is not a defining picture. This chip shop is excellent, the amount of repeat customers (ourselves included) is evidence of that. OK, so you weren't happy with the response you got. I agree, that's not helpful. Was it a younger server? Thats often shyness/lack of confidence rather than belligerent indifference. My advice to others is to go, try it, make up your own mind.

Excellent fish & chips, and proper plate pie.

The place looked nice but I was disappointed with the food and service. The menu is small, which is usually a good sign (a few things, always fresh and done well), not in this instance though. They do a kids meal that's supposed to come with a toy and drink, I only received the handful of chips and 4 fish bites. I also ordered an individual fish for 3.50, the batter was thin, and under cooked. The fish was very small, hand sized. The chips had lots of eyes and a greenish tint. The "large" portion wasn't exactly generous either at 2.50. I asked for a portion of potato scollop but they didn't have any and didn't apologize. I also ordered one small and one large sausage. I got two the same size, presumably they only do one size but chose not to tell me this when I ordered. It tasted OK, the fish was nicer than I expected it to be but we'd been swimming and walking all day and anything would have tasted good by then. Overall I wouldn't recommend the place and wouldn't go again.
