I really enjoyed my trip to saffron last weekend because the waiter was very welcoming and the atmosphere was nice. Although they ran out of protein pancakes i would love to go there again soon.

We visited on 25.02.2025 at 5:30pm-7pm and were served by a lovely red head woman, sorry I didn’t get her name. Just wanted to write a review to say she was absolutely fantastic. So friendly and attentive. There were 7 of us and she made sure we were all topped up with drinks and that we were happy with all of our food and kept checking in on us - she went above and beyond with customer service. We had a little one with us and she was so kind and great with her. Thanks so much again! Sorry I didn’t get your name! Hope the feedback can be passed on :)

Lovely bakery, staff were amazing and very friendly. Staff talked about products enthusiastically when asked about them. Food was great, protein shakes are an absolute must.

1st time there, won’t be going back. My friend ordered a scone, it was tiny and clearly heated in the microwave (never had a heated scone before) in my opinion it obviously wasn’t fresh, the bottom if the scone was hard, the fresh cream (think it was fresh) was way too sweet. I had porridge which was nice to be fair but a tea americano scone and porridge £17.50 not worth this amount at all

Consistent. Food is simple, fresh and tasty. Atmosphere is nice. Service... Well you can drive half an hour to get here, then sit in the car waiting for a table for 45 minutes because they won't take bookings. To come here for lunch takes up 4 hours in drive time, wait time and service and it's off putting. They took our drink and food orders at the same time after we'd been sat for over 10 minutes. After the food arrived they didn't come back to the table once, until we got up to pay. We all wanted more drinks but we'd been there for so long we just wanted to go home. Whoever is the manager has got the menu right, but they really need to train their staff, for as hard working as they all are, they could be doing better.

Really lovely sparkling afternoon tea with my friend. Couldn't fault it, fresh sandwiches, scones and a collection of yummy cakes. An extra bottle of prosecco and three cocktails later we finally left at 9pm!! We had great service from Rachel and Karl who looked after us so well, and we had a fabulous catch up. Would thoroughly recommend The Tavern both for afternoon tea and for other meals - we've been here many times and never been disappointed.

The service was very good. Sunday lunch was excellent,2 lamb,1 beef. Very tasty and both meats top quality. We usually have Sunday lunch at a restaurant we frequent in Cheshire, but we can all honestly say this meal was better. Nice atmosphere but as we ate early it was quiet but by the time we left the restaurant was very busy.

Disappointed that no table service Waited ages to order food at bar No variations on menu ie no cauliflower without cheese no beef and turkey combo and worse coffee machine broken with no alternative Food was nothing special considering price Pie and chips was ok Beef roast was OK meat was really good but veg was limited

This is a great local pub and has such friendly staff. My dad goes there every week on Monday to the pub quiz. My dad says that it is great fun and it’s only £1 to enter. You can do it in teams of however many. They also serve spectacular food here and hope you enjoy your trip. Xx

We booked a table for 10 at 7-30 New Year’s Eve we arrived at 7-00 and were told to have a drink and we will call you when your table is ready it took 30 minutes to get a drink and we waited until 8-45 and a lady at a table next to the waiting area leaned over and said she had waited since 6-00 and hadn’t even had their starter’s they then walked out and we followed this completely ruined our new year The service was nonexistent a complete shambles I can’t imagine my family going back and the same for most of the people who were let down the management should be ashamed of their service

Overall an excellent meal. Lovely comfortable decor and pleasant friendly staff. Well recommended. The food was very tasty and unlike some Indian meals didn’t leave you feeling bloated. Good crispy Papadoms without a hint of grease came with a nice tray of lime pickle and chutney etc. Menu had chillies next to each meal so the strength was clear. I like medium hot so chose a Bengal chicken with a 3 chilli mark and Pelau rice, would recommend it if like me you enjoy a curry that has a nice spicy taste but not overpowering. But in general there was a good choice, the chef’s specials were a little more expensive but just went for something I thought I would like. My partner had papadoms with Chicken Pasander which is mild and she really enjoyed, nice Pelau rice with both meals not lumpy but well flavoured. 650 mml of Kingfisher (just over a pint) and a coke came to about £42 but if we had been able to add a bigger tip would have given them £47. In the end gave them about £45.
