Yeah, not bad. Kind of your average Greene King — to be fair the beer garden is decent enough though — however, the cubicles are a nightmare to get into 😂

Visited today and had a great afternoon with family. Drinks were served with a smile. Staff always have a chat and make guests feel welcome and at ease. We have food here regularly and enjoy it everytime. Toilets have been updated and freshened up, which was a nice surprise.

Had a lovely tea time meal and drinks whilst watching the football match. I ordered a steak with a squid topper and garlic and mushroom sauce. My husband ordered a mixed grill. My daughter opted for the Italian chicken burger off the burger deal which included a drink. We were not disappointed, the food was served hot, I had to wait a few minutes to let it cool. The meals are of generous portions and really good. My compliments to the chef Zoe. All the kitchen staff work hard and we appreciate them. The manager and all the bar staff are very friendly and always have time to have a chat. Ignore any negative comments as we have never had any issues.

We called in for a meal last night, when the football was on. The food was amazing as always. The Italian chicken burger was delicious! Staff are very friendly with a special mention to Zoe and Mike. Their service is top notch, food was served quickly and it was hot. The pub is clean and tidy, with a great atmosphere. The autumn decorations were also a nice touch. We also called in today for a couple of drinks, and was greated with exceptional service as always. I would highly recommend and cannot understand why any one would give this pub a bad review

Came here with my parents who are pensioners and basically got completely ripped off! My Dad said he feels like he’s just been mugged. Waited about 45 minutes for our meals. My Dads pie was burnt to a crisp & so was the 2 tarts we ordered which had hardly any filling in it , took literally 5 minutes to eat. The halloumi fries was also burnt & like cardboard they came in what I can only describe as a battered dog bowl. There were 7 in the bowl with a splash of sour cream and something that was meant to be salsa , wasn’t even half a chopped tomato this was nearly £7 !! Will never go back, had to get our own menus and cutlery and they were all standing doing nothing at the end of the bar. That should of been our cue to leave tbh. it’s a shame as the location is lovely. Didn’t want to give any stars but had to to post this review. Utterly Disgusting!

Food prices are really high for the dishes they are serving! Pasta was just microwaved, salad! What saled. Much better eateries around, Toilets are grubby, doors falling to bits place needs maintenance. Won't be buying food here again!

The old woman with the burgundy hair is one of the rudest people I've ever met. She was so snappy and abrupt. I felt like I was asking for the world when all I wanted was a few drinks. I asked another customer if they saw how she was acting and they said oh shes always like that. If that's how you allow your customers to be treated then no wonder the place is always empty. That woman needs some customer service training ASAP!

Wow what a gem of a find We were tracing from Staffordshire rang ahead Spoke to Alex booked a table (really polite on the phone) Arrived welcomed by Alex and staff Food was amazing Met the chef who personally asked if our food was alright (rearly get to met the chef extra special touch) Could not recommend this place highly enough When we are back in the area we would definitely visit again

My choice from the menu was so delicious and very well presented on the plate, It was so tasty. The place itself is really lovely inside with plenty of places to sit and have a drink or to eat. Slow service with our meal, but when it arrived, it was obvious it was not "ping, ping" out of the microwave. The chef definitely knows their stuff.. The atmosphere was pleasant and not noisy. Brilliant place to eat and relax

Stopped by for a drink in the beer garden. Service was quick and the drinks weren't overpriced.

Staff were attentive as you would expect, food was good and very reasonable, unfortunately waited too long for pudding and for it to be checked upon and left without it

Mike and his team did the most superb hosting for a funeral wake I had there. Everything was tip top, staff are all amazing and the buffet food was fantastic, everyone commented on the quality of the hot and cold food. I highly recommend The Church View for any special event or just pop in for a drink/food for a warm welcome ( doggy friendly too). Massive thanks to Mike and his team.

Really nice pub this but food and service not the best. On busy periods tables and bar full of glasses but may be understaffed, not sure. However, on our last visit we sat outside as it was a sunny day. When we sat down noticed the tables were sticky and smelt of urine. Went to the bar and told the bar staff that the tables were dirty and sticky. The lady responded by passing me a cloth and cleaning spray! To say I was gobsmacked was an understatement. I just went outside and cleaned the table myself. Never seen anything like that in my life.

Having called to see some friends who were having coffee and cake I thought I would have a pint of beer. Looking at the selection of hand pulled cask ales I was again disappointed that out of probably 6 hand pumps 4 had coming soon labels and two available were an over strength for a session ale and the other was G/K Yardbird, the one i tried. The ale was warm and of poor quality no one seemed to be bothered and I was told in no uncertain terms its all we have, even worse was the price £5.20 pt, expensive for the area, probably the dearest pub in the area, expensive for a very poor pint. I have frequented the Church View over the last10 years and seen various management combinations, this is the poorest team ever. I shall not be going in again and am unsubscribing from their mailing list. Sorry Green King the Butchers and the Griffin are your pubs I suggest the current team at the Church View pay a visit to these pubs in your group for lessons in running a pub. Peter S

Ive had better sunday dinners there no cauliflower cheese no parsnips on dinner Broccolli a bit hard and some of the carrots. Needs doing up inside carpet patched up not jow i remember it sorry

Good sevice here..staff were helpful and accomodated our wishes to change our table and have a lighter bite meal even though they weren't on the Sunday menu. The food was quick to arive ,well presented and tasted fine,would definitely return.

Not visited this pub for quite a while , but not disappointed.called in today and not disappointed, following a more recent visit think a refurb or redecoration would be an improvement and soft drinks are vastly overpriced.

A good selection of beers and food within nice, relaxed surroundings. There is also a good-sized car park with plenty of spaces. It's wise to book a table in advance if you plan on eating, as it can get quite busy.

My sister and I came here for a Paul McCartney afternoon with lunch. We had a fantastic time! Unfortunately the ‘Paul McCartney’ was unwell and had been admitted to hospital. The landlord and obviously gone to massive lengths at short notice to get a replacement band. And he made sure he went around every table himself to tell customers about what had happened. The band he got were called the Merzees. They were amazing! There is no way Paul could have been this good! The food was absolutely gorgeous. We both had steak pie and it was really delicious with a very generous portion. The staff worked incredibly hard to wait on everybody and make sure people got personal attention. We had a brilliant afternoon and I highly recommend. Thank you Church View, we will be back!

Nice meal,bit busy on Saturday but still fast service

The food was very good, fish and chips. The staff were friendly and the young man responsible for booking people into the pub was very good. What let the pub down was the state of the Ladies' toilets. In the biggest cubicle there were cobwebs on the window, black bits and mould on the sill which only required a light spray and a clean-down. The floors were disgusting in all of the cubicles, the floor had not been swept and a mop showed to the centre only. There was a build-up of dirt all around the edges of the floor and corners. Someone had squired toilet cleaner around the bowls and not cleaned the toilet. In the outer hand washing area, the wall around and under the hand dryer was black with mould where it hadn't been cleaned properly. On the narrow wall between the two cubicles there was plaster missing. One of the cubicles had been closed showing an out of order notice. Overall the toilets put me off going into the pub again. Unfortunately it gives one a feeling of if there is that much wrong there, what else could be wrong and not cleaned properly.

went on a Quiz night so didn't get a lot of social time with my friend but nice warm decor, comfortable spaces but slight lack of tables due to priorities for food customers (booking tables etc). Good for a short stay but hard to say if you could have a table all evening if you've come for drinks. Nice local feel and easy to get served. Bus stops very close, easily accessible and bathrooms the same.

Excellent food, wait time wasn’t bad at all considering how busy it was, well worth a visit.

Wonderfully fresh food with generous servings, attentive staff and lovely clean tables. Ordered the halloumi and roasted veg on rosemary focaccia which was probably the best focaccia I've had to date. Bread was warm and fresh and there was a generous amount of halloumi! Can't wait to come back and try out some of the specials.

Initially thought this place was good, found a hair in my meal towards the end. I was gutted given how much I'd eaten, told the staff n although they said sorry that was it, no offer of a refund although I would have just said AHH it's ok, it's just nice to be offered the opportunity. A bit poor in my opinion.

Food was delicious, took a while to arrive but the place was really busy so I get that. Staff lovely and friendly, great atmosphere l. Was nice to see a few different things on the menu aswell of the standard pub grub. We had the pea, mint and courgette risotto, the katsu chicken curry and the chicken and ham pie. All were delicious, and I would definitely have again. Booking is recommended as we would never have got a table otherwise.

Service was slow. Soup starter was lukewarm. Main course gammon was very tasty though the meal on the whole could have been hotter. Other guest also unhappy. It was obvious a problem in the kitchen. Although the waitress was very polite and said she would feed back to the kitchen. No further feedback was received. I won't be going back.

I ordered lasagne and asked for the large salad rather than garlic bread but it came with garlic bread. I mentioned it to the bar tender who said he’d swap it. It came back with a slice of tomato and slice of onion (that was a large salad). My friend asked for a slice of bread with fish and chips but it wasn’t an option. Just spoiled it really really.

Once again lovely food and drinks saved our table for us and also my daughter who rang up to ask to be added to our booking as a suprise to me she said Mike was very helpful quick service by bar lady very efficient and always helpful didnot have to wait long for food either especially as it was mothers day and a busy day all food was excellent even the kids loved it no complaints at all this is our local now and so glad we can just walk over here any day or night.

We went out for lunch here with family. 1- despite reserving a table in advance; on arrival they had no idea we had booked as our booking name was not on their list. 2- we ordered two battered fish and chips. After a longer wait than usual we were presented with a soggy wet luke warm battered fish chips and peas of child's portion. The batter on the fish was soft and the fish was sat on water on the plate. Reminded us of an Iceland frozen fish and chip ready meal that had been pinged in a microwave. 3- we also ordered 2 jacket potato meals that were also not up to standard and served this on one plate with two bowls. We requested a plate to eat from. 4- the female toilets were disgusting. Three toilets one out of order (cant be helped) but the remaining two had a lot of urine on the floor and you can't get into the cubicals without brushing up against the toilet. I opted to use my toilet at home. 5- After having our mains the table was not cleared for a long time after so we put our dirty dishes on another table. Positives to dining here: - the deserts were all lovely - well presented, tasted lovely, portion size was good and everything that should be warm was warm or should be cold was cold. -dog friendly -OK place to go if you just want a quick drink.

Most amazing place to go for food the food the desert was amazing cooked to perfection and dog friendly took my two dogs and for two bowls mounted with chicken only two pound very friendly customer service couldn’t ask for a better place or nicer people 😁

Great atmosphere and great choice of menu in addition to the Sunday Roasts. Worth booking in advance as very popular restaurant and pub but worth the effort.

Pub food was nice as was the service. We used the ladies facilities as we left and have to say they were disgusting. Black mould growing on the windows . Floors wet and dirty, sinks full of wet toilet paper, walls missing plaster and tiles.Generally in a poor state of repair. Will not be returning sadly .

This place has gone downhill YET AGAIN. Unbelievable how inconsistent it has been over the years. I’m a local who has now given up on the place for good. The crown or ring o Bells are much better than this place for food

Booked a table for dinner on 1st February. This is one of the best pub meals that we have ever had- anywhere! Everything was perfect from the level of service to the quality & quantity of the food. I had katsu chicken curry which was delicious. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the gammon. Compliments to the chef!

We attended the New Year's eve event as a group of 6. We turned up at 7.00 to find they had transformed the pub ready for the New Year celebrations. From start to finish the service was spot on, the entertainment fantastic and the food brilliant. Well done Mike and the team, will be definitely booking for this year's celebrations

Came here for Christmas Day dinner for 2nd year in a row. Was a great atmosphere and lovely meal, it made our Christmas. Staff super friendly as always. Great pub.

We visited The Church View on New Year's Eve 2023 with friends. The atmosphere was great as were all the staff. The food was superb, particularly considering they were catering for so many people at one time. The staff were exceptional, extremely friendly and accommodating, efficient and professional at all times making us, the customers, feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. A brilliant pub providing great food and drink.

Visited The Church View Inn today for my sisters birthday . The staff were friendly and the service was excellent . We ordered 4 mains which at 2 for 1 were amazing value . The food itself was delicious and nice and hot and we didn't wait long for it to arrive at our table . We then ordered deserts and coffees which were a lovely way to end a lovely meal . Would definitely recommend the Church View and cant wait to return

Felt like been in doggy day care. Not ideal eating a meal when on the next table there was 4 dogs..There must have been about 10 dogs inside the pub all at once! Shame as food was good value and good service but far too many dogs!

Fabulous dog friendly pub. We didn't realise we needed to mention the dog on our booking. Staff moved some tables to accommodate us in the dog friendly area. Staff incredibly friendly with our slightly nervous dog. Excellent service and great food.

The woman with the red hair is one of the rudest people I've ever met. How she still has a job speaking to customers the way she does I'll never know. It's such a shame because all of the other staff are lovely but we don't feel comfortable coming in when she's there.

Only had a couple of drinks here. Respectable and comfortable pub, service was very good by attentive and on the ball barman. Prices are steep ( £10.10)for a pint of Madri and Carling, but I guess the area its in, and the type of client it attracts, is a standard price.

Great the fact that you can still place your order at the table. Very prompt service.

Recently had a new front of house and kitchen manager and they have really turned the pub around. Great food , great service and great beer. I go in most evenings and the atmosphere is fantastic with a good friendly local atmosphere. Keep up the good work.

I'm writing this review a months after me and my girlfriend went here, I've tried to find somewhere that does a nicer burger than church views fillet steak burger and I can honestly say there is none. The fillet steak burger is amazing the fillet steak is cooked to perfection it's outstanding. The service was decent as well and the atmosphere was cheerful. Thanks church view il be returning very soon

I was in here at the weekend and the whole place is just being ran by kids. It's pretty much impossible to get served because they're all just messing around and playing on their phones. I didn't see a manager once. Who even is the manager these days?

Quite busy for a Thursday afternoon but our reserved table was available. Four of us ordered mains and desserts. We were told that there was a delay with food orders and we put that down to a new menu, however we waited the best part of an hour. Food was good though. Beef rib (X2), beef & ale pie, chicken schnitzel were all cooked and served beautifully. Bill totaled busy under £80 - good value.

This was a lunch and cabaret day. It was all brilliant. The staff and in particular the manager were very welcoming and helpful. This is the second event of its type we have been to and we are booked in for another. We'll done all.

1st time we have visited The Church View Inn after it was recommended to us. Safe to say we will definitely be returning. The food was great, the atmosphere was really good & the service & the staff were brilliant. I was in here on Friday night and I still can't believe how rude the older lady behind the bar was. She was literally huffing and puffing at me when I was deciding what wine to have. I was actually too scared to go back up to the bar and ask for anything else 😮

Whent on Thursday dirty windows/dirty toilets smells of 🐕 dogs never again 😒

Dog-friendly pub with a great atmosphere! We arrived during a busy period with most of the pub full, but the staff were really lovely and accommodating and managed to get us a table. Desserts were a little small, but the lamb I had was amazing, falling right off the bone.

Managed to get a table without booking, was pretty busy throughout our visit. Service was great. Lydia as always was brilliant. Food was lovely too.

We had booked a table and arrived on time, on a Tuesday evening. It wasn't particularly busy. After we had placed our order, we were told that there was a "slight delay" of 40 minutes for food. At this point, we didn't mind waiting. Just over an hour later, there was no sign of our food. We eventually asked a passing waitress to check what was going on and five minutes later, she served us. It was definitely not worth the wait. The risotto had a skin on it, suggesting that it had been sitting for a while. Even the (frozen) chips were horrible. (Change the cooking oil!) My son wanted dessert and, at this point, it was quite quiet so we decide to order. Again, we were told that there was a short wait, this time of about 10 minutes, for desserts. 25 minutes later, we went to find out if the waiter had got lost between the kitchen and our table. It eventually arrived and was ok. Nothing special. If you want below average standard food, served over a period of 2 and a half hours, then this is the pub for you! I won't be going back.

We went to afternoon with Frankie Valley, was a really great afternoon. My mum had a great time. The staff were very friendly, haven't been to the church view for a long time. We will definitely be returning, we would recommend the afternoon with the tribute acts. Great way to spend an afternoon.
