I’ve been a loyal customer of Ireland’s Café for several years, and it has always been our family’s go-to spot for a delicious meal. The food has consistently been top-notch, and the cozy, welcoming atmosphere has made it a favorite for special occasions or just a casual bite to eat. However, over the past few months, I’ve noticed a decline in the quality of service, which has been disappointing. It seems that online and telephone orders are being prioritized over customers dining in. On my last four visits, the wait times to be served in-store have been close to an hour, which is frustrating when you’re already seated and looking forward to enjoying your meal. Additionally, I’ve experienced several instances where items I ordered were out of stock—but I wasn’t informed until 30 minutes after placing the order. While I understand that items can sell out, I would appreciate being told upfront so I can adjust my choice rather than wait unnecessarily. That being said, Ireland’s Café remains a warm and inviting place with great food, which is why I’m sharing this feedback. I hope the team can refocus on in-store customers and strike a better balance between dine-in and online orders. Right now, walking in feels less like a joy and more like a burden, which is such a shame for a café that has always been so lovely. I truly hope to see the service return to its former standard because I still believe in this café and its potential to continue being a cherished family spot for years to come.

Sunday brunch at Irelands, no better way to spend a Sunday afternoon before doing battle in the shops! Fantastic food, great service as always.

Absolutely disgraceful! One waitress told us to sit at a half cleaned off table, Then never spoke to us, or offered us a menu, or inquired whether we would like a drink. Total silence from all employees. We waited 25 mins and then left.

Absolutely love coming here, the staff are friendly and the food is excellent. Their Club Sandwiches are to die for and their Jacket Potatos are amazing, my new favourite jacket potato topping would have to be Hunters Chicken.

Customer notice "Food for thought" We have recently received a small number of reviews complaining of time wait for food whilst sitting in our venue. We have two chefs on, we all work very hard and as fast as possible. If our kitchen was bigger then we would be able to have a third chef. However our open kitchen would just not work with anymore staff. We would be tripping over each other and we would be a health and safety risk. We have no control over when or how many people walk through our door. It often feels like a coach has pulled up and everyone arrives and leaves at once. Again, the same with phone orders and machine orders...we hit that button and for example one order could come through or ten could come through at once. Yes sometimes we have to turn them off when this happens as it is so stressful when we have a shop full of customers at the same time. A number of customers comments state that we priorotise takeaway/deliveries before sit ins. How do you know this? Have you been in our kitchen? Do you know our system? Obviously not. So let me explain. ORDERS GO OUT ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS. NO PREFERENCE IS MADE. WE WOULD NEVER PICK AND CHOOSE WHAT ORDER GOES NEXT. IF THE PHONE RINGS, THE ORDER IS TAKEN. THE CHEQUE THEN GOES ON A CLIPBOARD INTO THE KITCHEN. THEN A TABLE MAY COME IN. ORDER IS TAKEN. CLIPPED BEHIND 1ST ORDER. TWO MACHINE ORDERS FOR EXAMPLE THEN COME IN. THEY GO BEHIND THE FIRST TWO ORDERS. IN ORDER OF TAKING. IF YOU SEE A CUSTOMER WALKING OUT WITH AN ORDER BEFORE YOU HAVE RECEIVED YOUR TABLE ORDER...ITS A PHONE ORDER AND THE CUSTOMER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED OF A COLLECTION TIME BEFORE YOU CAME IN. You are waiting because we are very busy. We cook all meats, sandwich fillings etc on site and fresh to order. No fillings are pre bought. We do not throw everything on a griddle or a job lot in a fryer. We cook in our oven for maximum freshness and the enjoyment of fresh, clean food. We have always been about clean eating. Our team work so hard. We are lucky if we have a cup of tea some days. I can assure you that we do not stop working to get your orders out as soon as possible. And we all get stressed when we know people are waiting during peak times. If you are in a rush, feel free to pre order when you reserve your table. Table reservations do not mean you get pushed to the front of the queue when you arrive. It means you are guaranteed a seat in our busy venue. Maybe come outside of peak times, you will be sure to be in and out quicker. If you come at 11am it is always busy. If you come at 9.30am you're sure to be eating quickly. We pride ourselves on fresh food and excellent customer service. We have very experienced members of our team. However, as we are open seven days a week and most of us have small children, we can't always be there. I am around alot. But its just not possible to be there seven days like i used to be. Sometimes the younger girls have to be there. Please remember they are doing their best when it gets busy. They're very good at their job maybe just not as confident as the more experienced members. If you have any queries, please speak to us rather than write bad feedback and damage our small business. We are doing our very best Love Irelands 💕

Not received order tried phoneing but no answer

Have been here a few times. The food is lovely can’t fault it but the service needs work on. They seem to be too concerned about take out food and getting them sent out rather than dealing with face to face customers. After 45 minutes we had to ask if our order was on its way as no one had even come to apologise for the delay. When we finally asked our food was only just being cooked then (plated up) There was also another table waiting for food, who had arrived the same time as us. I appreciate it’s busy however a bit of communication would be nice. Plus we also booked the table prior to coming for our food. After 50 minutes we received our food. A complimentary tea or coffee would have been nice seen as though we had drank our drinks which we would have like with our food. Again food is lovely it’s a shame about the service and wait time.

We came here today as my husband and I had the day off work. We'd been wanting to try here for so long. We walked in and was greeting with a hello. The lady came and took our orders. He had the full English and I had the special eggs. The food came withing 10 mins of ordering which is quicker than we expected. It was all freshly cooked. The special eggs were amazing, I think I have found my new fav breakfast! Husband enjoyed his too 🤣 would rate 10 starsnif I could. Can't wait to try the lunch next as the menu looked amazing.

Visited over the weekend and things were back on track from my previous visit , great breakfasts served quicky and piping hot. Staff busy but very polite and efficient. I did have a not so great experience last time but glad I went back in to support a great local business. Best sausages around BTW

Stunning food as always! I deceided to treat my family to your breakfasts this morning as you guys are my most fave breakfast place by far in widnes. There was a tea and a bacon and egg barm missing from the order but i do understand you get busy <3

Hands down the best breakfast we have every ordered. food was amazing, the little details such as the name and love heart on the bag. The delivery man was very friendly too! Will 100% order again!

Been a regular for a while ……..Not anymore Waited 45 mins for 3 small meals , drinks came 35 mins before food 10 mins before food arrived was informed no white bread , Delivery man bundled in with a load of Aldi bags (so I maybe question the produce being used ) and alas the white bread !! One of the staff was sipping Prosecco behind the counter (not very professional ) Friends of the staff came in and were treated much much better than the other customers. Normally the lady who owns it is around and it’s ran a lot better than this time. While Aldi produce is being used I will Not be returning , local business using big corporation produce. Very disappointing. Will give Brew lane my business from now on.

Came here for breakfast after hearing wonderful reviews about here. When we arrived the lady couldn't take our order and we had to wait for another day to come in, who then took our order. Your usual full English breakfast items where on the menu and some vegetarian alternatives. We waited 45 minutes for breakfast despite there only being 2 tables in the cafe, at the prices I expected something amazing but the food was average.

Ordered for the first time and food was lovely. Ordered jacket potato, a pasta box and a couple of drinks. Food was still warm on delivery, and even though pasta wasn't eaten straight away was really nice even when cold. Will be ordering again.

Waited for 10 minutes at the counter to order while 4 gen z employees folded napkins and stared at their phones. Walked out.

Waited an hour for breakfast and ended up leaving before it was served due to an appointment. Extremely disappointed as all take away orders were taking priority over customers sat in the cafe . The staff were very defensive and talking back when we challenged them about having to wait an hour . The owner even said “ just cos you reserved a table doesn’t mean you will be served first “. An appalling attitude especially after waiting an hour and still no breakfast . We had been so patient . Can’t understand why they treat take away orders as priority over customers in the restaurant . Certainly won’t be going back due to poor attitude of the staff and very poor service

Whether in person or a takeaway this deli is the best. Service is great, food choice and quality is amazing. Would highly reccomend and we will revisit/order again.

We've ordered breakfast from Ireland's a couple of times in the last few months and it is always spot on! Food is delicious, always hot and fresh and they've never made any mistakes in our order. Great delivery driver, fabulous service and superb food. We will most definitely continue ordering from Ireland's.

We ordered 2 chicken baguettes and a scone, from ordering to delivery took 2 hours

The food is OK but you cant get a baguette and crisps wrong can you. It took over 2 hours for the food to arrive and I was rang 3 times asking for directions to where I live. Couldn't they at least show the driver how to use Google maps. Also snotty response when I complained. Won't be using again.

Lovely, relaxed atmosphere. Gorgeous chunky toast with a proper pot of tea. Great for a catch up.

Paid £4.80 for a luxury white hot chocolate and received a normal (half full) hot chocolate, got a scone with pouring cream instead of thick cream. Toastie was nice but I paid £25 for a toastie basically. Expensive and half arsed. Won’t be ordering again.

Just wow... the food was stunning. They forgot my beans on my barm but to be honest, I'm not that bothered. The food was amazing and still hot, the sausages were mega and I'm usually very picky about my sausages, the black pudding was perfect and the coffee was still warm, the personal touches where really sweet and the delivery driver was simply lovely, deffo recommend! Best breakfast I had from Just Eat by far! Will be ordering again for sure :)

Food was of poor quality. The full English was dreadful with the mushrooms swimming in a pool of grease. The panini wasn't even a panini but rather the chosen topping on a baguette, that had become soggy with the amount of sauce used. The hot chocolate that they claim is made with Belgian chocolate was just warm milk and it wasn't stirred together. Such a poor experienceidonot think I'll be ordering from here again.

I had an incident last month when I ordered food for my staff at my place of work, my 15 year old daughter was sent down to reception to collect the food (that we had waited over an hour for) she was met by a delivery driver that was swearing at her and being abusive , I run down to find him but he had left, I called the shop and made a complaint and was told the owner would be in touch but I heard nothing, we changed our choice of cafe since with out issue, I thought I would give Irelands another chance and today ordered 4 breakfasts to be delivered at home, we waited an hour and 30 minutes and when the food arrived they had sent a vegan breakfast instead of a standard, I called the shop and I was met with nothing but attitude from the lady on the phone, no accountability at all, I was told I had ordered that breakfast, but it’s funny how the other 3 I ordered came as standard and I ordered 4 of the same, I will not be using this place again, slow wait times and a terrible attitude from staff, brew lane cafe (next to the stadium) is our new go to, much better quality food and staff are great .

Lovely woman who dropped off the food. Food was fantastic, we'd never been here before. My mum loved the eggs Benedict and the sausage and bacon on the full English were better than anywhere else, the homemade cakes were lovely and well presented. 10/10 we'll be back! Chantilly cream, never had it before but will defo be wanting it again
