**Update** from my below Covid lockdown review. With Covid well in the past when I first wrote a review, the pub is back to our favorite go to place for a pint and a meal. It has something for everyone, family, socialising or a works meeting. Wouldn't spend my money anywhere else. (**Old review**)....Staff are overwhelmed at times which is not there fault. Seems to be the same amount of poor staff waiting on, no matter how many tables are booked. They are always welcoming, even though they are run off their feet. Management need to give their head a wobble during busy periods and provide back up staff.

We had the tastiest roast beef. Didn't even need a knife for the meat was so tender. The small scampi and chips was not that small. Both food and service was excellent

Plenty of disabled parking and good access apart from heavy doors. Nice standard menu was very good quality freshly cooked food and excellent service what more could you ask for

My partner and her children had booked us in for her birthday meal. I emailed the Queen of Hearts in the morning to ask about how I could make sure I paid and not my partner. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and I received a very quick email reply. Excellent service and we enjoyed our food. Thank you!

Never had a bad rump steak. Always perfect with salad and such great value

Poor! I had the hunter's chicken. Chicken covered in cheese with BBQ sauce, served with chips and onion rings.... supposedly! No cheese on the chicken, no onion rings! The chicken was so dry I nearly asked for a steak knife. If I hadn't been so hungry and pushed for time on my lunch break, I would've sent it back, but I forced it down. First and last visit.

Had a lovely meal , Emma was brill and made sure we had everything we all had burgers which were delicious, Emma was really helpful

Me and my niece popped in for lunch the service was brillant and the food was lovely. Very quick and easy to order we didn't wait long for food to be delivered to us and was very enjoyable.

Booked food for friends birthday. Great menu options. One friend vegan and one gluten intolerant and they had no trouble finding something suitable Food was great, good service Friendly staff, very helpful Had a great time. Definitely recommend

We had a breakfast the bacon was streaky bacon the beans were dry alot of the food was burnt or over cooked I wouldn't recommend this

Fast service, the food was exemplary and the staff are quick to help if needed.

Great restaurant with nice atmosphere. All food choices were good and had decent portion size. Ordering from the app meant we did not need to join a fairly large queue which helped because we were limited to time before needing to leave. Seeing clear indication of which tables were reserved helped us choose a suitable table when we arrived. Will visit again in future.

Been here for lunch a couple of times. Food is very, very tasty....and they do the best chips. Our server was Emma, who is very friendly and chatty....actually she's a hoot. Would definitely recommend it

Popped in the pub as they had advertised a band and it was a fantastic night, the music was first class, people were up dancing and a few were even in fancy dress. Special shout out to Kyle in his flat cap, glasses and moustache combo, he looked so damn hot but that might be the fact that he was wearing his leather jacket behind the bar with the heating on...

We booked the Queen of Hearts for a family meal. Staff were top notch and service was speedy. Extra thanks to Darcie who was amazing serving our party of 16 food, drinks and extras during our visit. We were asked about allergies upon ordering. We had a vegetarian, dairy allergy and a gluten allergy within our party. All allergies/dietary preferences were catered for immediately.

Good food friendly staff great beer garden and good bands on only went for tea ended up staying all night don't remember getting home lol

While it’s not the cheapest in Runcorn, I come here for the really friendly barstaff, especially Emma and Dawn. Those are special ladies who always make you feel welcome.. thanks and once they know your name you will never feel more welcomed… better than non de script generic pubs. Thanks ladies.

This is mine and my girlfriends favourite place to eat its absolutely lovely. Staff are great. Food is gourgeous and always piping hot. We just love it here

Friendly well run pub with good food at sensible prices.

Went for breakfast but ended up lunch after follow up visit to hospital with our daughter , everything back to pre covid which was nice to feel normal again. Nice friendly staff.

Staff lack social skills ,served a mug of tea with amazing indifference !. This place describes itself as “welcoming”.

Food and service excellent 👌 our waitress Margaret provided first class service with a very pleasant personality. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she made sure the tables were cleaned straight away when some one vacated their table.

Please explain the point of having EV charge point that cannot be used as their is a blue jaguar parked (NONE EV) most of the time, I think is it belongs to a member of staff (who has Special parking spot!!!) but I could be wrong it EV in disguise!!! This Is not a one off its parked most of the time.

We had a great time and will definitely come back as often as we can.

First time here, we aren’t from the area and when we first walked in it was loud and absolutely packed (to be expected on Boxing Day) so we didn’t have high expectations. However we were seated in a booth in a bit of a quieter area thankfully and to be fair the food came quite quickly and it was absolutely banging, couldn’t complain about a thing, the staff were all nice and accommodating, a lady came over and offered some toys for my 3 year old to play with after she saw him not really co operating with us 🤣 which was really nice. Would definitely come again. 👌🏼

Pub was very busy, got a friendly welcome from the lady behind the bar who was working really hard on her own, we hadn’t booked but were able to use a table that was booked for later as long as we were clear by a certain time which was fine by us. Food arrived, well presented and enjoyed by our group of 5, good atmosphere

We always hold our bi monthly Radio Halton meet ups here. The food and drink are good and all the staff are very friendly and attentive.

Me and my friend took all our kids to see santa this morning. It was amazing start to finish not one bad thing I can say 10/10. Every member of staff was so friendly and polite! Santa had time for every single child was no rush and the food was gorgous. Will deffently be coming back next year 🎄🎁🎅

We were celebrating our daughters 50th Birthday. It was a great evening,and the service and the buffet was lovely

We had two Sunday dinners one turkey one beef and leak pie and chips. Sunday dinners tasteless, gravy like warm water. Turkey seemed processed also paid extra for more fortunately didn't get it. Beer was warm and tasted off but they exchanged it with no issues, ordered coffee but it never turned up after 20 mins so requested money back. No issues. Place was packed but a bit scruffy. Staff, young lad delivering food very pleasant very efficient. Would I go again ? Left pub as if I'd never been in except a few quid lighter. No. I wouldn't go back. It is what it us a pub sat at the end of a housing estate. No delusions of granduer no real attempt at trying for greatness just somewhere to spend an hr or so.

Food ordered, pretty fast at getting it out, I had the mixed grill, well worth it's money, chips were lovely, really crispy outside and fluffy inside.

The service was brilliant, we wanted the Christmas menu but hadn't booked for that. The staff accommodated us anyway and where extremely nice. The food was very nice and it was a lovely atmosphere.

Great service, the burgers we all have were spot on! Topped off with a desert. Definitely be returning.

We only popped in for a drink, it is very well presented inside and out.

As a family of 12 who meet at the queen of hearts usually every month, we have never had a bad experience which is why we continue to go back. The staff are amazing and always find time to make sure that everything is ok with your meals even when they appear to be run off their feet when it’s busy,nothing seems to be too much trouble for them so for this reason we will continue to visit regularly.

Good all round for food, service, parking atmosphere.

The service and food are always really good from Queen of Hearts, it's a lovely pub and the atmosphere is always great. We keep getting 30 % off vouchers, but you can't use two offers at the same time, they always have deals on. We bought the Royal British Legion glasses, which we thought was a fantastic idea.

This is our closest pub/restaurant so technically our 'Local'. Booked a table for me and family for my pre 30th birthday celebrations, 18 of us, requested to be sat in a certain area, and that is what they did, thankyou for that! Always nice and friendly, food came out hot and tasted delicious, really nice chilled out location to talk, laugh and enjoy food.

My friend and I had a lovely lunch, the food was great and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be returning.

I visited the queen of hearts to celebrate the retirement of a wonderful colleague. The owners and staff went above and beyond to ensure everyone had the best time. I have to give a big shout out to Lisa and Lee the owners of the pub for making sure every detail was perfect from the food and drink to the entertainment, which I have to say was the highlight of the night, dancing, Karaoke and games... What more could you ask for! Keep up the amazing work.

I visited on a Friday evening for food and drinks. We had lovely food, great service and a great atmosphere. Everyone had a really fun night with the music/karaoke later in the evening and we will definitely visit again.

Accommodating and friendly staff, clean premises. Good prices and value for money, They even have a bingo on a Sunday afternoon (not sure if the bingo is every Sunday)

Top pub for meals they are amazing iv not bin for a while as I didn't think much of it the last time I went but it had new owners and so I give it a go and I can honestly say it will definitely be a place me and the family will be going alot more often 100%

Came for a family meal where a table was acquired for us even though it was extremely busy. Emma was our server and she was amazing, nothing was too much trouble and she went out of her way to make my dining experience one to remember and I will be sure to return and tell other family and friends about my experience with her. A meet up with a friend for a catch-up, No chance to talk as it seems that a TV everywhere you look and people shouting to be heard on so many tables...unruly children trying to get attention from parents who are either on their phones or not interacting with them, needless to say we didn't stay for dessert and won't be going again.

I've been here a few times. With family or with festive groups. Kyle (one of the staff) has been a ray of sunshine every time he's been on duty.

We were at the football game across the road so we only had drinks, the service was very good and the atmosphere seemed friendly. The areas we used were clean and free from rubbish and the prices were average. We shall call again when next in the area.

It's a nice friendly pub but can get busy at times due to popularity.

One night stop at Premier Inn returning home from holiday there restaurant was closed so receptionist booked us in at Queen of Hearts friendly staff and atmosphere food was excellent and the waitress gave us the best service we have had eating out for a long time Well impressed 😀😀

Had a brilliant time with friends we were visiting in the area. The staff were great and Lee made us feel so welcome and always had a laugh and a smile for us when serving. The food is really good and the cocktails were lovely! We ended up staying into the evening, as the vibe was nice and we just didn't want to leave! The night was rubbish overall, and we were served the wrong food with fake mashed potatoes. However, a lovely, professional, and courteous staff member named Kyle was the only pleasant thing about the experience. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and he provided excellent service. He deserves a pay rise.
