We often visit this cafe when walking the Whitegate Way. Brilliant value tea with the largest teapot I have ever seen! Soft drinks and food quite expensive. Environment is lovely and the young staff very hospitable. The only thing that is a shame is how short the opening hours are and how often they close. Plan ahead and this can be part of a beautiful walk. Dog friendly too (though you have to sit outside).

We went for an evening meal We were warmly greeted and shown to the bar and given menus while we waited for our table. We were the only ones in the restaurant but other tables were set up for later bookings. The service and food was all excellent and couldn’t fault any of it. We shall be returning

£10 for two small trays of stale lukewarm chips full of bits and a meat & potato pie which was only half filled with meat & potato. The chips seemed to have been re-done several times and were hardly warm. We have tried Foodcraft several times in the last couple of years and most times we have been a bit disappointed either with the quality or the portion size or both and always thought it was too expensive. The quality goes down, the portion size goes down and the price goes up.No way to run a business. This will be the last as this time it was the straw that broke the camels back. Over the last few years I can count on one hand the times when the chips were decent - the portion sizes have always been very small. Just not worth it anymore. Maybe thinking it would improve has been based on a nostalgic view of how good it was a long time ago. My partner has known this chippy for over 60 years and she has never known it be as bad as it is now. The present owners don’t deserve loyal customers they just want to rip off what few customers they have.

I can only describe this place as a complete and utter shambles. I booked a table for 6pm and was stood waiting for 15 minutes. I had to go next door as it was linked to a take away, to get a member of staff. Met with a disgruntled staff member, who came into what they describe as a restaurant, to be told its not our fault the bell is not working and throws 2 takeaway menus on the table and left for the takeaway next door. I noticed a couple in the corner who had looked like they had a torrid time but stuck with it. With that, I said, this is a joke and we left. Not for couples, definitely not a restaurant, it’s a takeaway playing at being a restaurant.🤣 On a happier note, we went straight to another place. Which I can only describe as Excellent and recommend highly.😊🙌🏻 The Rasoi Four Lane Ends Tarporley Cheshire CW6 9LZ

Dined with my partner on aTuesday evening. Food was mediocre, cheese garlic bread lacked garlic and was heavily loaded with cheese. Burger was tasteless and overcooked, taking most of the moisture with it. Service was slow and painful to watch. Staff walking past (when they could be bothered to set foot in the back room) missing the attempts of making eye contact for condiments that were requested earlier. Manager seemed more interested in flirting with the chefs than looking after her customers. Recently noticed a recent review by a diner called Scott who stated the food here “ is the best for miles” seems to have managed to have got in the kitchen to take his pictures. There’s no stainless steel tables in the bar or restaurant - my guess he’s a chef employed at the venue 🤔
