I have visited this café on a number of occasions & always had great food / service. However, I visited last Saturday morning & left feeling extremely disappointed. During this visit the food was lovely, but the quality of a certain staff member left a lot to be desired. The member of staff struggled to follow instructions. On two occasions I asked for certain things regarding our food order & on two occasions she either ignored or forgot both things. We also purchased some of the Victoria sponge cake to takeaway. When we went to eat the cake once we got home, we found the cake to extremely dry & there was also baking paper in the middle of the sponge. It is a massive disappointment to be writing this review as this was one of my favourite little cafes.

Visited on a Saturday night for food without a booking… the bar was very busy and the restaurant was also nearly full but they accommodated us with a table for two. The service and food was excellent, the Cheese Pie was amazing and clearly homemade. Our waiter was really helpful and was attentive and dealt with are requests to amend dishes without any hesitation. The Duty Manager Emily was lovely and was the first contact we had when we arrived and Ashleigh was great recommending the right Gin when we had a drink in the bar afterwards. Defiantly a great local in Middlewich centre.

We visited the Wizard Tea Rooms while attending a corporate volunteering day at Alderley Edge National Trust Park, and what a treat the Tea Rooms were! From start to finish, my colleague and I had easy communication with the lovely ladies who run the tea rooms - Harriet and Rachel. They provided us with the menu and prices in advance of the day, and we decided to opt for teas and coffees in the morning, soup and sandwiches for lunch, and another round of teas of coffees after lunch for our group of 26. One week on and I'm still talking about the delicious mushroom and garlic soup, cheese and beetroot sandwiches, BLTs and egg mayo sandwiches! We felt everything was reasonably priced, and the ladies took great care of us on the day -nothing was too much trouble. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Wizard Tea Rooms to friends and family, or corporate companies. In fact, I will be back to visit with my kids and dog for an ice cream (yes they do doggy ice cream too!) Also - the venue itself is gorgeous - seating indoors (all 26 fit inside), but plenty outside too. Really charming old-world feel inside the tea room which we all loved. Many thanks to the wonderful staff for looking after us so well - Alison and James.

Ask for Egg and Bacon toast, takeout it came separate in the box so use your imagination You would’ve thought if you asked for a takeout the egg and bacon would be already done on toast, ready to eat, but not., so messy 🙈 and to top it off £8 but you’re learned by your mistakes I never said the food was horrible. The food was beautiful. It was put together wrong. I had to take the poached egg out and the bacon with my hands to get to the toast at the bottom of the box, so it was messy so when I pick the poached egg up to get to the toast out of the bottom of the box the egg went everywhere., usually when I order bacon egg on toast it comes already done cut up., not have to use my fingers to make it up That’s what I’m trying to say, but you’re trying to make me out that you can’t understand what I’m saying., talk about rudeness people are entitled to leave their comments this isn’t over social media. Your comment was very rude and people will see this when they read it.

Meh, so slooooooow. After hearing about the hype, I was really disappointed. The menu was, in my opinion, limited. Our first choice of main was sold out, at 7:30pm, hardly late for a Saturday evening. The suggested alternative a seafood risotto took approximately 45 mins and when it came it was saltier than the Dead Sea. The waiting staff were lovely, but too few and rushed off their feet.

Our first ever visit to Macclesfield. Six of us needed to eat. We called in on the off chance of getting a table. A table was ready for us at 7.30. I honestly cannot praise or recommend this restaurant highly enough. Service was spot on, so attentive yet with humour. Popadoms were on the house, fresh and tasty. All the food was delicious. We were told we could take our own alcoholic drinks if we needed to but there was plenty to choose from on the drinks menu. The house white was actually quite nice. We shall definitely return.
