The Peacock Pub in Cheshire East

We have been in a few times since the refurb. The food has always been decent. The service however has been consistently poor due to understaffing. The staff have been lovely but there’s only ever one or two working! We’ve had delays with our food on each occasion. Wanted a quick meal out on a Thursday evening and didn’t even get chance to ask for a table. Queue at the bar and one person serving and greeting arrivals. 10 minutes later, we were still waiting so gave up. Loads of dirty tables. Won’t be rushing back.

Great food and great service! They made me and my fiancé feel very welcome and at home and were so friendly, couldn’t ask for a better experience.

We had a lovely Sunday dinner tonight at The Peacock , the lamb and beef were delicious and our server Steph M was very friendly.

Daughter treated us to dinner. Had 2 courses, starter and main...too full for dessert but the choice was tempting. Sam was our waitress and was brilliant. Great personality and knowledgeable on the menu and drinks. She helped make the evening a very nice experience. The place was welcoming, clean and had a good feeling about it. Both food and drink were tasty. Food well presented and perfectly cooked and the drinks were perfect. Bar is obviously well kept. Would not hesitate to go again.

Had an absolutely brilliant visit here this evening for my mums 60th Birthday meal. Couldn't have asked for a much more accommodating team of staff, with special thanks to our waitress Steph (as well as Sam and Keo)! Super friendly, great atmosphere (especially with the newly introduced live band for the Jazz Festival) and amazing food - Couldn't have asked for better!! Thank you very much!

Been here on a number of occasions. The food is superb, the restaurant is very nice and welcoming and its also dog friendly (in certain areas).

Popped in at lunchtime with our dog Max. We were served by Steph M and Keo who were very friendly and chatty. Food was great as usual and it has become our goto dog walking pub.

Dining at the Peacock was a lovely experience! I had the 3 for £12 on bar snacks -recommended by Rob, and my partner had the beef brisket sandwich with cheese which he loved! I have to give credit to our lovely waitress Emma who always kept a smile on her face and just made the experience all the better with her knowledge of the menu. Thankyou to all the team for being so friendly and welcoming! We will definitely be back again soon!

Really enjoyed our time at the peacock, staff were friendly especially our server Emma who couldn't do enough for us and always had a smile on her face. My Steak was cooked perfect, asked for medium well and came exactly how I would like it. Will definitely come again.

This is a great restaurant, possibly a little bit out of the way. So it's nice and quiet on certain lunchtimes. The food is very good indeed and the service is impeccable. A special mention for Call, the barman, Steph M. and Sam, who waited on us so well.

Steph M was absolutely lovely, as were the bar staff. The food was quick but i would have liked more choice across sandwiches and salads, but what we had was really nice.

We have eaten here a few times since the refurbishment, it’s quite expensive but the food has always been good especially the belly pork which my husband always enjoys , the thing is we always have to wait a long time from ordering to actually eating. Last night it was just over an hour , the place was so understaffed just 3 people seemed to be running the bar and waiting on, the food had obviously been cooked and left until the waitress could bring it out ! The veg was over cooked and lifeless and didn’t taste freshly cooked , we were in a hurry to get to another place, so quickly paid a left otherwise I would have mentioned it. I really feel for the staff being so short staffed and I’m sure they were unhappy about how the evening went .

Stopped in at The Peacock for a bite and left seriously impressed. The food was top-notch—classic pub favourites done right, with generous portions and plenty of flavour. But what really made the visit special was the staff. Emma and Lou were absolutely brilliant—welcoming, friendly, and full of great recommendations. You can tell they genuinely care about making sure everyone has a good time. Will definitely be back!

Had the pleasure of visiting The Peacock recently and couldn’t speak more highly of the experience. The food was excellent—well-prepared, hearty pub classics with plenty of flavour. What really stood out, though, was the service. Emma and Lou were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Their warm approach made the atmosphere even better. Definitely a place worth visiting again.

Visited The Peacock Inn for a meal with my family for my grandads birthday, service was excellent from Lou and Emma, looking after me and my party for the night. Food came out fast, hot and delicious, will be back!

Our table was booked for 4 people and it was only set for 2. We then waited 2hrs for our food to be brought out and when it arrived I ordered the fish cakes and it was cold.

Lovely food, plenty of room for us and our dog, and Emma, our server, couldn't have been more helpful. In fact, she made the experience all the better for her cheerful attitude! And she seemed to be running the place almost single handed!

Popped in last night for a Sunday lunch for my dad’s birthday, being the awful children we are we forgot to get him a cake! 🥲 Louise that works behind the bar was so kind, and compt us a gorgeous chocolate brownie with a little candle in it, it made my dad’s day and ours aswell. What amazing service from all staff (sorry I didn’t get everyone’s names) and the food was to die for. All round 5* from us! Thankyou so much again guys, see you soon!

Spent the weekend staying next door in the Premier Inn with some friends. Food was great, and service was excellent, in particular Emma & Kio. Will visit again next time I'm in the area.

A lovely evening. Great staff and food . We are totally impressed with this place and their Caring staff. My Steak was cooked to perfection. With the Vintage Inn app we got 33% off the bill for our party of 6 . Amazing. Well done to all . Chef coming to have a chat was a special touch and the Assistant manager just so friendly.

Food - delicious, but overpriced and a little scant. Tiny pots of accompaniments. Service - had to wait as appeared to be only one waitress on and many tables. We left a tip as she managed very well. Atmosphere - quite nice

Went in for lunch today. Met by a lovely employee who took great care of us. The menu was interesting, food arrived promptly, and was delicious. The crumble was home made, and full of fresh fruit.. no dreaded ping dinners served here! Hooray. Thank you for a super visit. My dad loved it too. The decor is very modern and stylish, and the place was spotless. Our server worked nicely with his team adding to a great atmosphere. Think his name was Keo. We will deffo be back. Well done team peacock you nailed it.

Three of us out for a meal,a return yo a place we had previously had a poor service from (since refurbished) One of the party was an elderly bloke with some elderly bloke issues. We were SO well treated by the staff ! Welcoming, patient,and flexible. Food was very good too,always a bonus Vibe was easy going and lots of families seemed to be enjoying themselves Highly recommended, will certainly return

Lovely pub. Stopped off here after a walk around Nantwich with my dog as it is dog friendly, had lovely staff with incredible food, would recommend.

We held my dad’s wake/party here yesterday and from start to finish every member of staff has been amazing. They took care of all of our guests and we would recommend them to any family thinking of a party/wake. We had a lovely day. Thank you.

1st time at the Peacock, and it really didn’t disappoint! Had a warm welcome and were served by Steph who was absolutely amazing - so attentive and warm, ably juggling her many demanding tables! Meal was cooked by Freddy and cannot oversell the standard of the food - succulent pork belly, pie had beautiful crust and stuffed full of filling. Puddings were amazing too and massively oversized for the price - well done the team, we will be recommending!!!

This is a great place for a relaxed meal. The pub is busy which means there is a buzz but the staff so efficient and attentive, its really nice to see. The food - I had a signature burger and my friends had a variety of skewers all just lovely. We are already planning our next visit shout out to all the staff that looked after us.

As regular visitors to The Peacock we decided to take our eldest son for a Birthday meal. The place was busy and a good atmosphere. However, it became apparent that there was a complete lack of staff on duty to cope with the demand. The 2 girls on duty (one was Steph) were amazing and were doing as much as they possibly could to keep the customers happy, without their dedication and customer interaction we would have left. I understand there was a promotion on from head office, and yet the staff levels were not enough to support this. I hope not too many customers left or gave bad reviews because of the staffing issues as those working tonight were first class.

I was asked by a manager to leave a 5 star review claiming I had been before when I never have, but now I can tell you how I really felt about my experience! You can tell the food is all frozen, very bland no real flavour. Waitress took my order put the wrong order through so when mine came out I told her it’s not what I ordered and had to wait a further 10 minutes whilst the rest of the table had there’s. No manager on duty which is a real shame to see! Won’t be hurrying back anytime soon.

Had a great meal here today! The vegan arancini starter was delicious and the halloumi kebabs were also great. Staff were warm and friendly, especially our server Steph B. The new refurbishments look great and the pub had a happy hum about it. Would definitely recommend!

Had a brilliant relaxed evening here at the Peacock. The atmosphere was great, not too quiet but not too loud, the service was good and the staff friendly. J Keo served us and he was a knowledgeable server, with great suggestions surrounding the products available on the menu. Had the Chicken Skewers and Flat breads. They where very tatsy and well cooked. Happy with the pricing for the quality. I would recommend visiting here for a great meal. I will be back again when in the area.

Food was a bit cold but harsh to knock as a nice place to eat and always has been. Friends of mine often stay here as well

Staff were very pleasant, Food was very nice and just enough for a light lunch, we had the 2 course menu , the small desert and a hot beverage was great. The decor was very nice and toilets were impressive. Could do with a heater over the door as we sat on a window seat by the door and it was on the cool side at times with all the people coming in and out. Great that you are dog friendly

Fabulous meal at The Peacock for valentines day. Setting was fabulous with rose petals , candle and rose on the table. Our Server Sam went above and beyond with our service tonight. I mean all the staff are wonderful, Sam just seemed to make it extra special. She was so friendly and nothing was to much bother. Their knowledge with the Alergens goes above and beyond anywhere we've ever been with the usage of Glass Onion. The food was spot on! So tasty and well presented! It's definitely our favourite place to eat out in the area.!

Left before getting our food, waited an hour and no sign of starter. Was told by friends service wasn't great but an hour with no explanation was a bit much. Place wasn't busy at all, how they cope on a busy night is anyone's guess. Avoid

I came into this place expecting an average experience. My step son is a head chef at the leading restaurant in the area.....the peacock was amazing...staff were there best I've dealt with in a long time.....one of the chefs actually served the tables when he had the opportunity and the food was "up there" Callum our waiter was superb 😀👍
