Great pub with tremendous staff. Family wedding this weekend and couldn't have enjoyed myself more!!

Visited under sad circumstances (wake) but it was a lovely venue and they battled through the 100+ guests all day like Trojans.

From my visit I have always felt more welcome here than anywhere. Louise and all the staff create a really friendly atmosphere. Best Margarita in town and well worth a visit. Rated the food on bar snacks only.

It's not quite the place it was pre covid, but still one of the best venues in Macclesfield with its unique style and relaxed vibe.

Best Guinness and mulled wine in Macc. Lou’s Mexican bean soup is incredible.

Only been in once before. Bobbed in for coffee and hot chocolate. Menu sounded nice- soup, toasties, vegan chilli nachos. Really cosy. Fires on. Let doggies in - and Poppy was friendly and cute.

18/11/23: 10/11/23: lovely small boozer, selling craft ale/craft beer. 3 on tap, plus Guinness and a small selection of lager and cider. Food sounded fantastic, but we just had a pint of Sir Philip bitter and Hanging Stone smoked porter from Winkle Brewery. Lovely, friendly service. Dog friendly!

This is a great little cafe bar. Always a friendly welcome and Lou goes the extra mile to please customers.

Great bar, friendly team and cold beer , superb!

Really friendly staff and a very cheap round. Got a Storm Brewing pint which was nice with a gin and mixer for less than £10. Garden sitting area at the back is really cool too with comfy couches and blankets if needed.

Met my friend there at midday for coffee on Friday. Sat in garden. It was lovely, and clean. Atmosphere- very chilled. Plants were looking great. Service good.

Glad to see it reopen after some time, nice place to hang out.

A very nice, friendly bar, with friendly, helpful staff. Conveniently placed only a couple of minutes walk away from both the train and bus stations. We only had a drink, so I can't comment on the food available.

Lovely pub with log fires - everyone there is always really friendly, they have boardgames you can play, and they also put on live music nights, food nights, and a quiz night on sundays. Well worth a visit :)

Quirky and a great venue for the Sunday quiz at 8.00pm

Just so glad to see it open again, when it had seemed it might never! Love the décor and the atmosphere of quiet relaxation available. Please though, early days I know, offer a decent, mid-range bitter. The place deserves to succeed, then we'll have a wonderful drinking quarter with Red Willow, The Fountain, Jolly Sailor and Treacle Tap to fall inn and out of.

Excellent venue. Made the more excellent by Fergs saying he would happily organise a VE day fancy dress celebration in the venue. Good on you Fergs.

Decided to have my 40th birthday party here (wanted people to have seats and the music not to be so loud we couldn't natter!) - booked a room out and ordered some cold buffet options. It was absolutely perfect! Louise laid on the most delicious and nicely arranged feast (AMAZING meatballs and divine chips) and was friendly and helpful. The bar staff were very helpful on the night and the atmosphere was lovely. Highly recommended!

Funky little bar, unique styling, nice beers. Lots of items are a little worn down or broken through use though. It could use a day or two's TLC and some replacement games/etc but, highly recommended.

Been here quite a few times now.Warm comfortable friendly atmosphere with big comfortable sofas and books to read and artwork on the walls. Interesting and unique.

Eating and drinking in the Snow Goose was an absolute delight. After a lengthy train ride to Macclesfield from Euston, I had a quick hour to kill before attending a business meeting. The look and feel of the place immediately hits you; this is no ordinary bar. This is not your typical, predictably furnished pub — there’s character and touch. It’s warm, busy (without feeling too busy) and the lady behind the bar is bubbly and full of enthusiasm. As an added bonus, the Snow Goose has it’s own piano! It’s not horribly out of tune like a number of pub piano’s I know, so feel free to bust out a tasty tune. I sure did!

Nice venue, but was lacking in real ale's when I went there.

Cosy pub offering bar snacks, great for meetups and for some casual board games. Seasonal drinks like the mulled cider are always good and the bar snacks (usually locally made pork pies and other nibbles) are great. A little on the expensive side for the area, though.

Funky place. Played some giant connect four. The had a special on for Pimm's and lemonade but sold out of Pimm's so really a pretty average special.

A good pub, over a couple of levels, with a great selection of local real ales ( mostly Storm Brew) & some decent keg beers too.

I was told to try this place while visiting the area for a meeting -it’s a Saturday lunchtime much on the menu was not available and what was - ie macaroni cheese was dire pasta that had had its life boiled away and little else - a mini portion of melted cheese - the soup was like dirty dish water -while upstairs is comfortable downstairs was strange with not one matching chair and most were very uncomfortable - it might have been good some time ago but it needs a re vamp it’s well past it’s sell by date

Nice atmosphere, and lots of space. It was clearly an old house which is cool. Good beer handling and selection and you can play boardgames upstairs.

Fab place, extremely friendly and welcoming. I hold a Pottery workshop here every month. Nelly and her team are so accomadating all my workshop attendees love the space and feel so welcomed and comfortable. Ace place. Xx

A nice pub we decided to eat at on a spontaneous trip to Macclesfield. Friendly staff and very aesthetic, with nice lighting, cushions and various accessories. Outdoor balcony and seating area. Whilst waiting for our food there was an array of entertainment including board games. Food was a relatively small portion but was a good cheap price so not disappointing. Very nice place and would visit again if I’m ever in Macclesfield!

Unique pub with unique decor. Good range of drinks. Nice place to go for a quiet drink with friends.

Overpriced, pretentious and staff were rude. Was here for a christening and there were a lot of us but service was unreasonably slow. If you have big parties like that have more people on the bar.

Nice bar great atmosphere. On the down side if I have a pint of larger I would like the beer to hold its head and not go flat. glaswasher?

A nice quirky place and usually not too busy, on occasion there is life music on, which can get a bit noisy, but it's a nice place for enjoying a G&T or a glass of wine, or even a pint

Always a good place to meet & chat

We have visited the Snow goose a few times and are always made welcome in this quirky pub. We (my Wife and ) visited for a nightcap and felt comfortable with an eclectic mix of customers just wanting to chill.

I've only been here 4 or 5 times since it opened and there's a few reasons for that. From the outside and as you enter, it looks like a cosy quirky little bar with cushions and newspapers lying around. Unfortunately the long seats are just uncomfortable and in the cold weather, it's never warm enough as was the case on our last visit in December.I've never had a beer that I like and there's a premium on the drink prices.On one occasion, when the bar was very busy, I had my back to a window. Someone warned me, just too late, that there were Orchids behind me. The owners did settle the specialist dry cleaning bill and told me the staff had been told to remove the stamens.Maybe I've just been unlucky and I will give the Snow Goose another try soon and hopefully we can get on better next time.

Headed to the Goose to try the new lunch menu from the newly installed chef. An Americana theme, freshly made and tasty. We tried the tacos, hot dogs & mac n cheese, all made fresh to order.The food was delicious and served by the ever friendly Louise. Definitely coming back for more!!

Brilliant, friendly pub with great band for a sing a long.

We called in mid-afternoon when it was really quiet, but I'd love to see this place when it's more lively because it looks like the ideal place for a get-together with loads of people. It's got that ad hoc, vintage, chilled vibe about it, with an interior that makes you want to stay, relax and drink. The staff look after their drinks (and their lines, which were getting cleaned when we were there) and they have a good range on offer. We intend to go back with reinforcements and spend more time and money there.

World's best pub in Macclesfield

Just in town for a few hours, but liked the look of the place as I rode past, so went back to visit. Unfortunately they had a pop up kitchen that evening, so they weren't doing lunch, plus a few beers were off due to line cleaning (quiet time). However they were incredibly friendly and welcoming to me, allowing me to bring my own food in to eat, and as a result I spent a few relaxing hours there. If I'm in town again I'll definitely be going back.

A locally ran bar serving a wide range of local ales, plus tea coffee wines and spirits. Live music regularly played in a relaxed 3 floors with some outside seating. Bar snacks available. Nice vibe of staff and customers. Central location near other bars and restaurants.

We had our wedding here and all our guests said it was one of the easiest and most chilled weddings they had ever been too - super tasty food, great and well priced drinks and amazing atmosphere. Also so close to the train station and travel lodge which was very handy too.

Quirky bar that acts as the brewery tap for Macclesfield brewer, Storm. Eclectic furniture is everywhere, set over two floors, plus the additional rooftop beer garden which is probably unique in the town. Welcomes families, so the children can use the board games and toys that abound. Usually three or four cask beers on.
