Spinners Arms in Cheshire East

Since I was a young child my mother always taught me when choosing to eat at any fine dining establishment always look at how clean their curtains are. I’m pleased to say that upon inspection that the cleanliness of the front curtains in the spinners was exemplary. The cleanist curtains I’ve seen hands down. I genuinely thought the curtains were the best it could get. How wrong was I??? I was met by Alex on my arrival. Genuinely the most heart warming welcome I’ve felt in an establishment ever. I can only compare the love and warmth I experienced to how Luke Skywalker felt towards the rebel rebellion whilst trying to destroy the death star. The food!!! F**k me. I felt like I was back in the the streets of Mumbai gorging myself on the exemplary culinary delights on offer. If I could award the lovely Alex and the Spinners team a Michelin star it really wouldn’t be enough. To summarise: Fantastic clean curtains, a great host in Alex and a genuine distain for the galactic empire. Would I come again??? F**k yes!!!

Called at 7:15pm to ask if they served food, they informed me that the kitchen usually closes at 7 but overheard the chef say he’d keep everything on for us. Got down for 8, enjoyed two smash burgers which were absolute top notch, staff were awesome and the pub in general was great. Food great value for money and will be back if we ever call to Bollington again🙌🏼 Thanks to the chef for going out of your way to make sure we enjoyed a nice meal🙌🏼

We came in expecting a typical pub, but we got so much more! We shouldn't have judged a book by it's cover The food is fab (highly recommend the pizza and garlic bread) and the owner couldn't do enough for us. Lovely service, lovely atmosphere and lovely food. You really can't go wrong here!

This is a great village pub, extremely dog friendly, clean and vibrant, the food here is always first class, my favourite is the black and blue burger, however the choice is wide and varied. Highly recommend this place.

Stopped in for lunch and glad we did! There is a new burger menu and the burgers are VERY good! We had the goujons too which were really nice. Great staff aswell 😁 thanks guys!

Without doubt the best local in Bollington and surrounding areas for that matter. Gorgeous food-particularly the pizzas! Lush pinot blush. Always a lovely atmosphere and a warm welcome every-time. Its a bit like coming home but that may be because I spend too much time 🫶

Lovely family run pub. Came in not expecting much from pub food or a burger and was pleasantly surprised. Good food that is done with care and not just chucked on a plate off a microwave. Great service. Will be back.

Delightful pub - stayed for the weekend in a local AirBB and this was the local Pub near to where we are staying . Great atmosphere , super food with a good choice and very reasonably priced . The lady who ran the pub - Alex was really welcoming and we felt like a local within minutes . There are lots of pubs in the area but we always gravitated back to The Spinners due to its relaxed atmosphere and great welcome . A visit is a must

Excellent bar in Bollington. Friendly,efficient with excellent customer service We had lunch one of their soup & sandwich specials Absolutely delicious would highly recommend.

Cracking gem of a place. The staff and locals make the place very welcoming and make you feel at home. Dog friendly with a large well maintained beer garden out the back, lovely in the summer evenings watching the sunset and White Nancy in the background. Good selection of beers, wines and soft drinks. Also usually at least 2 very well kept cask ales available. Oh and if you get the chance to try one of the Spinners 'unique' Pizza's definitely take it! They're hand rolled dough and no pizza is the same shape, but the delicious taste is there in each one. If you're in the Village or just passing through, I advice you to pop in. Update: smash burgers are coming soon! Pizza's are staying on as well so win win! Yet another reason to visit a fantastic local pub.

Met some Norwegian musicians who come to Cheshire annually(past 20+ yrs), they always come to The Spinners for the warm welcome they receive from the staff and the local clientele, cracking early doors experience

I couldn't ask for a better 'local' .. great selection of booze (shots... Don't forget the shots!!) atmosphere and the Discos are legendary. 💃🪩

Twice the ginger-haired barman got our order wrong. The second order was 2 single gins with 1 bottle of tonic. What we got was 2 single gins with lemonade, which he argued we had ordered and insisted we pay for. We did pay for the drinks but left them on the bar and left the pub. No, we won't recommend, nor will we return.

5 star gaff, garlic pizza bread will be the best 6 quid you've ever spent. this pub has EVERYTHING. your life will be richer if u visit the spinners. also, make sure you're then when disco is on, quiet something

Lovely pub in the heart of the village. Came here with my team for a recent meeting and enjoyed a lovely sandwich which was great value and tasty. Especially loved the fire 🔥 as it was a cold day outside.

What can I say about The spinners arms!! I love this pub even more every time I visit!! It is a traditional English pub in the heart of Bollington with a warm welcome guaranteed. There is a free car park located opposite, once inside it offers pool, darts and love sport.🎯🎱📺 The landlord and staff are very polite, friendly and always happy to help. They have a great selection of beers, ales, wines and spirits available including soft drinks and coffee.☕ 🍺 🍷 Also a range of amazing food to order and try at the bar, I highly recommend the spinners arms pizzas!! Absolutely unreal scran!! 🍕🍟🍔 They are also dog friendly with water and a treat provided at the bar for your 4 legged friend.🐶🐾 I absolutely recommend you visit this pub if your ever in the village and especially if you live local!! You will not be disappointed!! 🙌🏼😁

Went here for a quick drink on our way back to the hotel. Nice pub, played a few games of pool 🎱 and darts. Cheap enough for a few drinks. Didn't eat here.

We visited here whilst enjoying a short break in Bollington. Really good feel to the pub and thanks to the good weather we really enjoyed the lovely beer garden.

We visited the Spinners Arms whilst staying locally at Shrigley Hall. We had a couple of drinks (a pint and aperol spritz) and a bite to eat - the pizza was lovely! Staff were friendly and we had a really nice visit!

Came here to complete some work... Landlord was very accommodating and arranged for a key holder to open up out of hours for me .... Thank You for that 👍 The Spinners Arms has a large free carpark over the road, offers Pool table and Darts along with live sports... As it was out of hours I didn't take many pictures... But very clean and tidy This is an honest traditional pub, 😎

Popped in for some lunch on Sunday. Simple menu but perfect for a bite to eat with kids.

Good pub a few minutes walk from the canal but excellent beer

1 week later, to retain the connect 4 championship I was horrified to find out the pizza had sold out (no wonder they’re that good)! Fair play to Alex, she made the best loaded fries to compensate. Connect 4 was hidden away so battleships was the game of choice. No comment on the winner 🤔 Ended the night playing cards with humanity with everyone in the pub. Very enjoyable and it would be good if more came in to take the challenge

Only stopped for a pint with my mum, her partner and the dog. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Dog friendly. Very clean.Will definitely return.

As a 25 year old I didn’t get served as I was “underage”. Appalling landlady.

To be honest this place felt like it had some ageist staff which in this day and age is super outdated and embarrassing for them. I went in on a Friday night with a group of young friends, not crazy young, we’re all 22+. Unfortunately we weren’t served as the (I assume drunk) landlady came over and said all our ID’s “wouldn’t do” and it was time for us to go. I’ve been driving for nearly 6 years so found this pretty bizarre that she thought my driving license which I’ve had all that time was a fake. Ultimately, to be honest, I’m really glad we decided to leave as she was starting to decide she might serve us but I would really never want to support a business with such unfriendly staff. I cannot recommend anyone else does and I hope they change their mentality after seeing this review as it really isn’t pleasant to feel that unwelcome, especially as we were planning to spend a fair bit of time and money in there celebrating my friends 23rd birthday.

Fantastic pub - Alex, Olivia and Jack were more than welcome to us on a Sunday night. They stayed open beyond closing hours to accommodate our group, much appreciated. Would throughly recommend to anyone visiting Bollington. Ask them for Geese, Goose or Swans - they know the craic

We called in the Spinners Arms on Sunday to watch Football, as we stayed overnight in the area. We had a great time chatting and laughing and all the locals made us feel very welcome. The Landlady was lovely and the pub was spotlessly clean. It was a very dog friendly pub with about 7 or 8 well behaved dogs at one point. Definitely recommend this pub and hope to return one day.

Came in on a whim, and stayed far longer than we intended. Wonderful staff, fantastic locals, and an all round good time.

Family afternoon with the grown-up kids, game of pool and a couple or three liquid refreshments to help the Christmas cheer along. Great Christmas Decor and quieter side areas to relax and socialise. Bar staff friendly and waiting times were short as became quite busy and popular with locals.

Not a bad pub, certainly has a few "characters"! Gets busy when footballs on!

I’ve been in here since lunch time. The new food menu is sensational (Spinas)! Live football (BT sport and sky), best pool table in Cheshire. The service is fantastic especially the ginger one!

Close to Tapa Small Plates and The Lime Tree, this is an excellent watering hole. A traditional, locals pub, nothing fancy, but a friendly woman served me at the bar, there was a good choice of beers and the wine wasn't overpriced as it often is in pubs these days.

Nice Bollington pub, good for the young crowd at weekend's, all way friendly bar staff

I was in the Spinners (my local) on the night mentioned in the last review. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion and can leave whatever review they see fit but I feel this review is unjust and absolutely not how myself and the other customers observed the situation. It’s true, the rest of us at the bar did feel uncomfortable, however this was because of how unnecessarily rude this particular customer was to the bar staff. She did say to her boyfriend “ugh, I should have got two” but that was followed with “they should have offered you two” – to which Alex (bar staff) said “if you didn’t order two then we wouldn’t automatically offer you two” and the customer responded with “I WASN’T F*****G TALKING TO YOU WAS I??!” In no other place of work would you expect to be spoken to like that. She later shouted across the bar “could I have some water please?” whilst both members of staff were in the middle of other duties. Seconds later, when neither of them had immediately responded to her she loudly said “Yeh, you just carry on putting the f*****g glasses away then” which was when she was asked to stop being so rude by the other bar maid. I wouldn’t normally waste my time writing these kind of things but the Spinners has been my local for many years and is a brilliant, welcoming pub with great staff and customers and I feel like the last review was very one-sided and unfair.
