The Lost & Found - Knutsford in Cheshire East

I used to love this place but the shine has definitely gone. I was the first customer in on a Saturday so was choosing where to sit. I wanted to sit in the window but was genuinely shocked at the state of the blue seats. I couldn’t find one out of 6 that was clean enough to sit on! What happened to the cleaner before it opened? There was an empty pint glass on its side underneath the chairs.I mentioned it to the staff member but she just commented that they show the dirt and carried on. Dusty,dirty,covered in bits and hairs.

Beautiful venue, with a lovely menu of fine food and cocktails and lovely wine, deserts are to die for and Ella our waitress was the loveliest waitress we could have asked for.

Liz and Sophia were an absolute joy, so organised and accommodating. It’s a tough gig working Christmas Day, Myself and my husband have been in hospitality- and it’s so well organised every year. Went for Christmas Day lunch. Service top marks..the staff are very special, chatty, attentive and polite super fast with our requests. The food was very good and the care over my gluten free diet second to none. Just a great experience all round. As an oldie party our only wish was to have the music slightly turned down but small issue. Top marks though from us ! Thank you! You exceeded our expectations!

Really disappointed by our Christmas visit, we paid £380 for 4 people for Christmas day meal. All 3 courses were perfect but unfortunately after 3 times of asking for coffee that we had paid for, we ended up leaving without coffee or homemade fudge and no one seemed to care or notice!!! Very disappointing

Gorgeous Christmas Day Experience. Lovely staff, Sophia and Liz went above and beyond to make the day lovely. Food was piping hot, good portion sizes and lots of choice. Nice cocktails, beer and wine choice. Took the stress out of Christmas and throughly enjoyed by all. Thanks Lost and Found :)

Work Christmas party held here. We had a private room booked with our own bar staff which is such a welcome change from the usual bar-side bun fight. There was a good range of food and it was well presented and tasty. Probably the best experience for a Christmas party we've had for a number of years.

Service was slow and food was cold. I had to get up and find a waiter as only half the food was delivered and they forgot a BLT. I was never offered a steak knife and the staff had disappeared again so I just used a normal knife for my steak. Our pizza was lukewarm and the steak was chewy. Don't think I'll be returning . We also got a weird service charge on the receipt for 9x service? We were not a table of nine so I'm not sure why this occured.

Roast pork /chicken dinner excellent. Turkey roast dinner okay. Calamari wasn’t crispy, it was undercooked pale in colour and tasteless.,

£7 for a pint!!!! That’s an absolute disgrace! Robbing people blind!

We were really well looked after. Given a gorgeous spot to sit in, staff regularly checked in on us and everything delivered to us promptly. A wonderful experience.

Excellent Sunday lunch and great location

We were at Lost and Found for the ‘Breakfast with Santa’. Everything about the experience was lovely. We were greeted by friendly, very attentive staff; our table had a letter from Santa with tickets for the photo booth, time slot to see Santa and cards to colour which the children loved. We were quickly brought drinks and a cooked breakfast which was delicious. After the food we went up to the magical ‘secret grotto’ to see Santa. He was amazing, spent lots of time talking to each of our three children before giving them their personalised goody bags. They loved him and decided he was definitely the real Santa, unlike some others. Then back downstairs for the photo booth before we left. We weren’t rushed at all, it was great value for money, and the children had a great time; making memories to last a lifetime.

We chose The Lost & Found for our corporate Christmas meal, and we're glad we did!! Laura was fantastic, we had the poor sod going back and forth with cancellations, amendments, quirks payment requirements, and she handled everything flawlessly! Thank you once again for making our Christmas meal a fantastic success!

Great venue, not many in when we got there but the room is plenty atmosphere. We shared a number of dishes, started with salt and pepper squid and halloumi, both lightly battered and great portions. Then we shared a lamb mixed grill that came with harissa yoghurt and hummus. Sides of peppercorn sauce, broccoli, and mac and cheese. All amazing. Really glad we came. Hermione, our server, not only has a 10/10 name, she also provides a 10/10 service. Would recommend!

We had booked the Christmas meal but were sat in the bar at a table very difficult to eat at. We were seated with walk-ins which made our Christmas meal feel very awkward. I wish you had said we weren’t in the restaurant and I would not have booked. Starters ok, sea bass ok, turkey dinner inedible and I asked for it to be wrapped for my dogs, dessert tiny and over sweet. Waiter forgot our complimentary drinks but by the time they remembered we had already finished.

Visited again on Monday 11th November with my three Tibetan Terriers and we were looked after spectacularly by Joe and Lottie! Food amazing as always. Food, ambience, the whole kit and caboodle is amazing. They have doggie treats too! Now visited twice within 4 days and i currently live in Manchester. Im moving to knutsford so this is deffo going to be our regular haunt ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

My first visit to L&F and the initial impression was great. Lively, great atmosphere and awesome decor. We were dining, and had to ask someone where the restaurant was. We were met warmly and with a smiling face and led to our table. Olly was our waiter, pleasant, attentive and reasonably knowledgable on the menu. Olly sorted our drinks and gave us a few minutes to decide on the food choices…perfect. The food arrived fairly promptly and was of an acceptable standard. We had finished our mains and the plates sat for some time, we even moved all the plates to the end of the table and still they sat. My wife asked a passing waiter to remove them, which they did. We then sat for some time and at no time were we offered a desert menu. I had to stop a passing waiter to request a coffee. I don’t know what happened to Olly, maybe his shift had finished, but service, post Olly, was definitely lacking. The food was good value and not an expensive night, but room for improvement. Thanks

Delicious food, unhurried, lovely surroundings

Beautiful venue and really lovely staff - they can't do enough for you. Dog and child friendly too which is a big plus. Visited numerous times for food and been to some of their events - the food is always spot on and the events are always so much fun! Highly recommend.

A very enjoyable bar to enjoy a glass at the end of the day or a nice romantic

Cold garlic bread and cold calamari. The brocoli in my main meal (seabass) was burnt and charred, leaving a bad after taste. The staff member on shift was not bothered when we mentioned the cold garlic bread and cold (tasteless) calamari. Expensive food as well! Upsetting that you spend good money on bad quality & cold, burnt food; that our evening we were looking forward to was ruined. Shame on you chef and sad that staff think it's ok to treat customers who pay good money, clearly seeing our unhappiness and think it's ok. We won't be coming back that's for sure, as, overall, an unpleasant and pricey evening for very bad food and not good customer care. Plenty of other restaurants in Knutsford for us to spend our good money on.

Real ale served at incorrect temperature . Just not cold enough so will not be back . Quite pricey too though busy and nice place inside .

Really unique. The high ceilings from the old town hall and secret sliding bookshelves are all mysterious and playful. Lots of different levels and spaces to explore.

Beautiful venue, we visited over the weekend after hearing good reviews from friends and family and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were so helpful and friendly, food was excellent too! We will definitely be visiting next time we’re nearby.

Keira was a great hostess and the food was incredible. Would definitely recommend the fillet steak.

Visiting on Friday and the place is lovely to look at! Really welcoming staff at the front. We had booked a meal which takes you upstairs away from the vibrant bar. Atmosphere in the restaurant was a lot quieter and subdued especially since it was a Friday night. Steak was great but the service let it down with incorrect drinks orders, no steak knife being brought with the steak so having to ask and a rude waiter that had the attitude of he didn’t want to be there and certainly didn’t want to serve people. I’d go again and maybe just have a drink there but not in a rush

We had lunch here because it was convenient - quite near the station and on the edge of Knutsford proper. The building is interesting - it was originally the town hall designed by the same architect who designed the Natural History Museum. We ate in the upstairs restaurant. It was Sunday and became quite busy with 'Sunday lunchers'. Our food was good, mainstream semi-pub food, and the service was efficient and friendly. What more is required?

Great place to sit outside and enjoy a drink, whilst the sun is out.

Visited here Oct 24 food menu was very limited so we opted for a few starters instead of mains the bruschetta was extremely wet and sloppy and also soaked in oil to the point it was dripping so the was inedible, the tripple cooked chips resembled pork scratchings there was only about 4 out the bowl that we could eat the only saving grace and the reason we gave this 3/5 was the pate which was quite nice . Need to up your game list and found

It’s not my first time eating here, but it’s always such a good atmosphere every time I go, the food it’s really good and fill u up well and the people there treated you very kindly :), it’s definitely one of my favourites places to eat.

As mentioned before, bar is downstairs with the restaurant upstairs. Beautiful building with food to match, fell in love with the sour dough bread. Didn't get my fifth star due to very small tables, six of us quickly ran out of room on the table, but staff were very friendly and attentive.

It was for a 70th birthday get together. The staff were accommodating, friendly and helpful. The setting is amazing and really well decorated. The food was spot on. Well done to all the team at Lost and Found Knutsford 👏🏻

The first time I visited 'Lost and Found' was 22nd June. I came with a female friend, we came for lunch and had a great time. The menu was superb, the service was excellent, the interior décor is beautiful, and the atmosphere made our whole experience perfect. So I decided to make another booking for the 5th of October to celebrate my 10 year wedding anniversary with my husband as I knew he would enjoy it, which he did. My husband said I made the perfect choice choosing this restaurant (which made me very happy) as we both enjoyed our experience together. Love lost and found Knutsford.

Only been once but it's already one of our new favourites. I had steak, which was perfectly cooked, and partner had a pasta dish, again amazing. Lovely staff, couldn't do enough for you. Good drinks selection too. Book to avoid disappointment as it is clearly 'the place to go'.

Booked L and F after a recommendation. Shouldn't have bothered. Uninterested staff. Slow service and poor food. Best dish was the pork chop. Worst dish was the Lamb mixed grill. Overcooked, dry and a huge pile of raw onion and parsley. £22 was hard to swallow. As an ex chef I expected so much more. Hugely disappointing. Chef should have been embarrassed to let that dish leave the kitchen. Hopefully this was an off night.

We had a delicious meal in beautiful surroundings. Staff were really pleasant and we spent the evening watching the amazing Monday Night Club band which had the place buzzing. Great atmosphere

I have been waiting for years to visit this place and trust me it's worth it. Amazing staff, atmosphere and yummy food.

This was our first visit here and we decided to go for the light bite and open sandwich options. We had the Smoked Haddock, Leek & Cheddar fishcakes and the BLT Open Sandwich. We shared a portion of Triple Cooked Chunky Chips. The portions were perfect and it all tasted amazing. We didn’t have cocktails this time but that’s something to look forward to next time. The venue itself was clean, spacious and quite pretty inside and out, It is also wheelchair accessible. The staff were lovely and welcoming, checking in on you without hovering. We will definitely be back. This venue is child friendly and has a children’s menu. They do a gluten and wheat free menu as well as catering for Vegetarians and Vegans. There is some on street parking but you are only limited to an hour, there are 5 good sized car parks within a 5 minute walk of the venue, these are all pay and display. A little note that it may be worth booking a table as it filled up quickly.

Myself and a few work colleagues enjoyed a lovely bottomless brunch here, as promised the drinks were flowing and the food was amazing (no pics of food) but every plate was empty. We tried most of the drinks available and bottles of prosecco were left for us in a cooler. The service and staff was 5* We all had a fab time and will be back.

I recently visited Lost and Found in Knutsford with a group of friends, and it was an experience to remember. We had a very pleasant experience, the food was extremely tasty and the staff were very friendly expecially to our two canine members of the family. I was very impressed with the way the restaurant handled the fact one member of our party had a nut allergy.

Classic,historical building in the centre of Knutsford.The food is good and reasonably priced for the location with very attentive staff and a really nice ambience.

Steak and other food lacked taste. Not sure what to do with the overcooked tomato and full half onion.

First time visit. Checked when booking that gluten free was available and told yes there was a gluten free menu. We never got to see that menu. If we asked if the dish was GF the answer was that they couldn’t guarantee it. There is a warning of possible cross contamination on the menu but nowadays there should be more done to ensure safety especially if you’re going to lure in custom by saying you can cater for GF. Our party was lucky in that cross contamination isn’t an issue but I wouldn’t risk it if coeliac or had allergies. Food is lovely. Service is friendly. Be aware, the service charge is added to the bill automatically.

Me and my boyfriend had some food here after work. We loved the pizzas and the lively atmosphere. All the staff were so helpful and welcoming, Zoe looked after us and went above and beyond.
