We were a bit stuck for lunch and ye olde kings head was the only reasonably priced pub open. The service and food were excellent. They were very welcoming with good portions sizes, and good kids menu. A lovely place to eat. I will definitely eat here again

We stopped in on a recent trip up the English canals, invited in by some charming folks on the tow-path. It was amazing. Exceptional food, both modern and classic. A wide range of tasty gluten free. Kind and helpful staff that warmly welcomed us on a grey and muddy day. Lovely guests who engaged us in lively banter in a cozy dining nook in front of an open fire. A chef who checked on us during the meal and then upon hearing from the wait staff that I'd never had a sausage roll, appalled, he sent me one from the kitchen gratis. Thanks all. You are beautiful. We loved it.

Lovely location, after walking around the adjacent reservoir we had an excellent meal and fantastic welcome from John and family The bar was dog friendly. We will definitely return .

Pass here often out walking and not ventured in since last year. Spotted the generously filled custard slice and went for it. Friendly people, efficient service and the tables are cleaned after each visit. Mug of tea and the custard slice was delicious, like they all used to be when I was growing up.

Great Chinese, have recently moved to the area and have tried a few Chinese’s. This one was definitely the best so far and will be ordering regularly

We went to the flower pot pub last year when we where on holiday from Australia and again several weeks ago while visiting again and enjoyed our meals that were served with friendly smile and very professional service. As a result it was a very special day for us today being my mother in laws 100th birthday today so we came back for a birthday Sunday lunch. The service was the same as before with the excellent meals and service, on leaving, to top it off my mother in law was presented with a bottle of bubbly, which was a lovely surprise and she was so pleased Once again we would like to thank you for a very special day and would like to recommend The Flower Pot for any occasion. Very helpful team and two excellent fast pool tables

If you're a regular business hotel user and familiar with Premier Inn, dont book this one. Go and stay at the Holiday Inn by the train station in town, as this place is dreadful in comparison. The rooms are tired, as in 80s tired, the staff are not bothered about keeping good housekeeping. Oh, and if you want breakfast before you're setting off in the morning, then don't expect anything before 7:15, or as reception happily commented, theyre never ready until 7:30. Dreadful place.

Took the kids, had a stressful afternoon, kids loved the food they all calmed down, had a great pint of Moretti. Staff were great.

We held a joint 60/80 party here and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff are brilliant and extremely helpful from all correspondence to the night. We had about 30 ppl for a small do and they were brilliant letting us come earlier even though half of our party did end up staying to the late! The food was exceptional the steak ale pie was devine and had our guests talking about it for weeks after! Compliments to the chef! Lovely party area, when decorated with balloons and banners it was a really good atmosphere, the bar were happy to play music on Spotify all night. Really spacious and just a really lovely evening. Great hospitality. Deffo worth considering for a function.

Booked for a lunch with 3 adults and 3 young children. We arrived before midday and given a table right near a door way. Hardly any room for 2 high chairs and nowhere for the pram. We put the pram over near the fireplace to be told we couldn’t leave it there but was offered no alternative. Another waiter did eventually offer us a place to put the pram. We were sat for 15 mins before we were offered drinks and menus. After ordering we then waiting a further hour for food- which with 3 small children is no mean feat to keep them still and entertained. At no point did anyone apologise or offer more drinks. People that ordered after us were getting their food and in the end we had to ask- again no apology. No one came over during our meal either to ask if we were enjoying it. I mentioned this when we payed on leaving and a half arsed apology was given. Get the impression it isn’t very child friendly. The food however was very tasty, shame as our over all dining experience was tainted by the lack of hospitality by the staff.

Had a lovely visit to the flower pot on Tuesday evening great atmosphere went with family the waitress told us it was fish and chip Tuesday we all had the special it was lovely and for the bargain price of £9.99 each definitely recommend we will be going again shortly
