Had a lovely visit to the flower pot on Tuesday evening great atmosphere went with family the waitress told us it was fish and chip Tuesday we all had the special it was lovely and for the bargain price of £9.99 each definitely recommend we will be going again shortly

We have Just had an absolutely delicious meal out ! we had the beef and chicken roast dinners and the c and b burger followed by some yummy pudding and coffee , the staff were really nice and friendly , and the pub has a great atmosphere. The food came in good time and was nice and hot . We would highly recommend.

The welcome in this pub is second to none, the staff are courteous and friendly. Special mention must go to Courtney for the lovey latte that I had and Maya as when my husband went to order a lager and the barrel needed changing she brought it over. Very efficient staff will return.

Came in for lunch at around 2pm and was greeted by our waitress Mya at the host stand, who checked about allergies and sat us down in a nice corner of the restaurant. Jessie came over and took our drinks and food order promptly, so providing great knowledge of the menu and helping us decide on our choices. Food came relatively quickly and all of us enjoyed very much. Great atmosphere and decent prices. would recommend for a lunch spot. Thanks again Jessie and Mya, and also the rest of the team. :)

Visited with family at lunch. The menu wasn’t the biggest but it was varied. The food, when it arrived was lovely. £140 for 5 people, 3 courses and drinks. The only negative was the service; just shy of 2 hours, although the staff were friendly.

Visited with family - in main food was nice beef dinner and salmon . Chicken dinners were a bit small looked like a thigh and wing . There was very little mash on the dinner like a spoon full . And asked for more gravy and still go small amount . Deserts sticky toffee and custard was very nice 2 Sundays 9 pounds for very small amount and a spoon that was too big . Not worth the cost . Venue nice and service was good . Few little changes and would be very good .

We were passing through and the outside looked respectable clean and tidy and decided to pop in for lunch. The establishment was clean and tidy, very helpful staff and were soon seated. Didn’t find the table at the right height for a meal. We both had a great meal.

Wow just called at the flower pot for a pint of guiness. £6.20. I'm in Macclesfield not London!. Don't think I will be calling for a pint of guiness in there again.

Have been once in the week and it was lovely, today a different matter. Decor is nice and good atmosphere. Were seated and then forgotten about. Waited 15 minutes before we had to find someone to orders drinks. Staff member rolled her eyes whilst “apologising”. Then explained I couldn’t eat certain things due to allergies. Didn’t offer to see what could be done to accommodate me (despite us sitting next to a sign that said just this). Was just like “oh right”. We left. Awful service. Whilst I appreciate was busy, the staff were all stood chatting together by the hostess stand. Won’t come back despite a previous good experience

Excellent Sunday Roast. We both had the roast beef and all the trimmings with a side of cauliflower cheese. Delicious. Good friendly service Great atmosphere.

Rude manager, aggressive and very unwelcoming. Such a shame as it was a nice place. Maybe if they hate their job so much they should look at making a change rather than taking it out on customers

Awful meal and beyond shocking service!! Ordered hunters chicken which was basically a dry bit of flattened chicken, then one piece of fatty bacon with a little melted cheese placed on top, no BBQ sauce and certainly not Hunter's chicken which they charged just shy of £16 for. The portions were ridiculously tiny, I have a small appetite but was still hungry after We had eaten, we came home and I had to prepare another meal for my teenager as he said it didn't even touch the sides. Trying to find a member of staff to complain to was impossible, not helped by the fact they don't wear a uniform so no idea who the staff actually were. I ended up giving up. When I asked for a salad dressing the girl looked at me as if I'd asked for gold, had no idea what I meant so asked if there was balsamic vinegar and she told me she'd have to take my plate back to the kitchen!!!!! What sort of establishment is this??? No salt and pepper on the table got told to go to the bar, upon finding them it was a game of guess what was inside as no identifying labels, which I'm pretty sure isn't allowed. No food check a few minutes after the meal had been served. We wanted some mayonnaise but that was a NO. When our plates were eventually removed I told the girl about the missing sauce and the quality to get “oh, ok” SERIOUSLY!! You gave us the wrong meal this should have been rectified. Asked to speak to management but got told “He was busy” I actually thought we'd walked into a budget Cafe and set up for a joke. We were made to sit in the area with a pool table which was clearly the forgotten area if the pub as once food had been brought to the table you wouldn't see anyone again. Management seriously need to train and improve their staff not just employ whoever they can get, starting with clean and tidy uniforms along with their name badges and spend less time on the group of loud rowdy men standing on the edge of the restaurant. I felt very sorry for the dinners in the restaurant being subjected to that. They need to allow dinners in one relaxed area and drinkers in another area where staff can actually do their job properly and get chefs who are trained and qualified to follow a basic menu. Avoid at all costs and go to a more rural country pub where you will get amazing quality and value for money.

It's a shame there are so many 'terrible' reviews on TA, I've not eaten here for a while so can't really comment to be fair. Brought a friend for the first time, she was very complimentary, great ambience. I'm not a big fan of the Robbies ale but it was nice to have a Moretti for a change.

Visited for a dinner - was told that the first bottle of fizz I ordered (menu stated could buy by glass or bottle) was only available by the glass.. Ditto for the second bottle of fizz. Queried it to be told they were waiting for the menus to be replaced. I’d expect a decent establishment to honour this all the same. A but unimpressed we decided to order a stater only, the soup was actually nice but let down by it’s gruyère crouton. This came as 2 thin pieces of half toasted bread and a strip of bright yellow cheddar melted. Perhaps the chef doesn’t know cheese too well. Just felt very pathetic.

We had a fantastic experience staying at this establishment. Glenn and Sam were excellent hosts - friendly, accommodating, and attentive to our needs throughout our stay. The food was impeccable, and the service was top-notch. The pub was spotless, creating a welcoming atmosphere. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a wonderful experience. Food was amazing but service from staff was slow , unorganised and sloppy . They seemed to be too busy chatting and leaning against the bar whilst we tried to get their attention numerous times. Moreover, not a single smile from them.

What a fantastic meal for our Christmas do, the food was amazing, the staff were so busy but nothing was too much trouble, this is the second year we have been to the flowerpot for a Christmas meal and it did not disappoint. The decoration are just amazing! Thanks guys for a lovely experience. Jo

Came with my partner for a meal. the king prawn linguine was amazing and the staff where also really accommodating and the service was really good

We went to the Flower Pot on Friday night for dinner once again, and as alweays it was superb. The Prawns were perfect and the Classic burger with cheese and bacon was truly magnificent. It's not just the food though, the host Glen and his team are great. The range of beers, wines etc is way above the average. We go here because it is within walking distance but take my word for it, it's one of those pubs/restaurants that is worth the drive (if you need to). To top it all, the disco started around 9pm and we danced with all the other party folk having a really wonderful evening.

Unfortunately this establishment doesn't honour bookings for drinks. The management team are rather rude and aggressive, which is a shame as it means that we won't be visiting again.

Popped in because we were hungry .. Nice inside , got seated and order taken straight away ..took nearly an hour to arrive .. but it was busy .. think there was a funeral party .. anyway .. the cheese and onion pie was excellent.....

We booked for a birthday family meal. When we arrived we were shocked at the noise level. There was a table of around 20 young lads and a few girls sat right in the middle of the restaurant wearing sports attire. Shouting drinking not eating....

Lovely pub , nice staff , worst food . I’m not sure how gammon and chips can be so bad - the gammon was hard - like cardboard - over cooked and was so salty it was unpleasant, almost painful to eat - the chips looked ok but I can’t put my finger on what was wrong with them - either they had been standing and reheated or they were overcooked - they were hard . The vegetables - broccoli that had been overcooked and sitting before being served . No offer of sauces etc so it was dry . A single fried egg couldn’t cover up the salt . The other two meals were ‘ok’ . I didn’t complain as I was a guest and didn’t want any kind of scene . It was the worst food I think I have ever paid for in memory . The service - genuinely nice staff - but I’m not sure if they have decided if it’s table service or not. It was confused. It’s a lovely pub and has so much going for it but the food was unacceptable at any price and needs to be fixed.

Me and my friend called in after work, the guy asked for a phone number which I thought was weird considering we just wanted to eat. I asked him what for and he didn’t know but said it wasn’t to do with track or trace. He then sat us at a table, didn’t give us any menus. We had to ask for menus, then we had to ask for someone to take a drink order, again for food. When our food came no one came to check if everything was ok (the food was alright). I needed a drink so had to go to the bar, 3 members of staff just stood there doing nothing. I eventually got a drink and when back to my table. The service was honestly the worst service I’ve ever experienced. They need to make their mind up…either do table service or don’t because whatever they’re doing now is not working!

We called here for lunch on Thursday 02/09/2021 as we had heard good things about the pub . We hadn’t booked but there was a table free for 5 of us , The young lady that served us was very attentive & polite, she took our drinks order and when returning with our drinks then took our food orders, The food arrived promptly and was absolutely delicious. It was a lovely welcoming pub, excellent service , delicious food , would highly recommend a visit to this pub, we will be back.

We have been going here for years and more so when it changed management and the re modernisation makes it a gem.Last night was particularly busy and through a mistake of the staff the table we had been occupying was reserved, after us being settled drinks on table. They found us another table in an extremely busy environment.The landlord came and apologised as I did complain initially.He followed this up with sending an array of hot food nibbles free of charge.That’s why we will continue to go there, staff and management customer service is first class.

booked a table for 2 adults and a child for 6pm Sunday eve, arrived quite early and got our table, 45 mins later we got our order taken, I was having Mushrooms starter but they had run out, my Stepfather wanted the steak and ale pie;again they had run out, so we went for the Sunday roast for both of us ,sorry run out of roast beef, so Father had the Cheese pie with chunky chips, and i had the fish and chunky chips, when they arrived they both came with fries, run out of chunky chips. To be very truthful I would have been better at Cromptom Road chippy. I felt embarrassed for the young ladies serving and having to apologize for whoever was running the kitchens mistakes. This is my second and last visit to the Flowerpot, both were a let down , lovely place just badly run

We are regulars here, food is consistently good but feels like a new menu should be due soon. Friendly team and good service. We particularly enjoy the Tuesday night discounted fish and chips.

Called in without booking but there is plenty of room so no problem getting seated. Food really nice and great service. The place is nicely done out and well kept. Really pleasant meal. Just to point out that restrictions had been lifted so there was a sense of normality.

I ordered cheese n onion pie, mash and baked beansMy friend had a burger and French friesMy pie came with the most disgusting gravy poured over the top of the pie (gravy just like a packet thing gluey and awful) and really I should have sent it back but I wasn’t paying so didn’t like to! The potato tasted like it had something mixed in it and very dry - the pie was ok!!! Have to say it was the worst cheese n onion pie I have had in a long timeI can’t believe at the prices you are charging for very average food why you can’t serve proper home made chips I certainly won’t be making a return visit here and can’t believe Robinson’s have lowered their standards so much!

I came into Macclesfield after work with a work colleague and we sat down to order food. We were ignored by the staff for over 1 hour. They left us stood by the door waiting to be seated for around 10 minutes, which is bad enough. I can appreciate that they were busy just to the nature of a summer evening, but just informing your customers of the wait would suffice. To not even be acknowledged and not have ordered a starter 1 hour into the booking. They made absolutely no attempts to take our order. A young lady with red hair acted shocked when we told her that we would like the bill for 2 cokes after sitting for over an hour and acted bewildered when asked for the specials and told us the didn’t do specials despite the menu saying “Ask the server for the specials”. In all honestly it was an absolute train wreck. After asking for specials she did not even come back to take our order? Dirty looks by the staff on the way out is just absolutely unacceptable. Not a single member of staff was wearing a mask and considering both my colleague and I are key workers this was infuriating. In addition to this, one gentleman was coughing and sneezing and proceeded to wipe his hands with a tissue and continue serving. I don’t appreciate the rude looks and muttering when we told the server that we’d been waiting over an hour after spending around 35 minutes to drive to the restaurant. As if it couldn’t get worse the table next to us (table 8) got served before us after arriving 50 minutes after us.Not once was an apology given which is utterly shocking.

My wife and I dropped by for drinks after work, arrived just after 7 waited at the door for 3 minutes, then one of the bar staff came and seated us and said he'd come back to take our order. There was 1 other table in the bar area, and another couple in the other area, with 5 members of staff. Our table could be seen from the bar area, one guy was on his phone wandering in and out the back area, three girls chatting and another boy in the bar. I sat looking at them for a while to see if they would serve us. After almost 15 minutes we just walked out. We have been before and the service wasnt perfect but this was the last chance. Its a shame because its a beautiful pub, really well designed but the staff don't appear to care. By comparison we were seated and had our drinks 5 minutes after leaving, in another pub.

I went for lunch with my Mum and Nan and ordered 2 cheese and onion pies and a Sunday lunch. The service was very slow and the girl in the fleece was extremely rude and rushed our drinks order. When the food came mine was a couple of minutes later. I poured the gravy over my food and noticed pieces of meat. (The meal is listed as vegetarian!) As no servers came anywhere near, asked if our food was ok or if we needed anything like salt or pepper I had to go find someone. The girl was very apologetic and said she would tell her manager and see what he could do. My food was taken away and brought back by the girl in the fleece, when everyone else had practically finished. No apology I asked if the gravy was meat free and she said if they’ve sent it out its right. She eventually came back to confirm it was vegetarian. When we asked for the bill no discount was applied nor had the manager come to apologise. I asked for the manager as I was extremely cross that they had served meat on a vegetarian meal. He apologised and took the meal off the bill. A fantastic looking pub let down by the service, kitchen errors and lack of apology.

Went here on a visit to Macclesfield with my friend. What a lovely pub/restaurant. Light and airy. Very friendly and helpful staff and the food was lovely at very reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend to locals and visitors alike

When the pub opened after the refurb I was really impressed with the food.... however last two visits very disappointed....tonight called in for tea, the tables in the beer garden were dirty, food very substandard no fresh ingredients, reluctant to go back in a hurry.

went today to the newly refurbished Flower pot, I took my son as it was his birthday. met at the door and shown to a table, we weren't asked if we would prefer to be inside or out, the place was virtually empty. drinks were ordered and brought to us , we ordered our food and it was brought out quite quickly, which didn't ode well. the chips were uncooked on the inside and overdone on the outside, 6 overcooked scampi and tastless peas. very disappointing. tried to get the attention of the staff but they were too busy chatty to one another. left most of the food, but wasn't asked how it was. asked to sit outside as it was chilly inside, told I had to pay for food before we went outside, said in a rather abrupt manner. I ordered a dessert as I was still hungry. it was pleasant but in the words of Mary Berry it had a soggy bottom. i have eaten there many times before the refurbishment and it was lovely, won't be going again, overpriced food, untrained staff, and poor chef skills.

Called in today ,a member of staff saw us when we arrived ......20 minutes later still not served .There was only about Twenty customers in the whole place we saw three staff who for some reason couldn’t see us ,we left ......The buck stops at management if they cannot organise their staff better they should not be employed by the owners to manage the place .....stunning pub sad about the management

We visited The Flower Pot on a sunny bank holiday Monday and sat outside arriving at 4.30pm in time for the kids tea. We ordered drinks on the app which arrived promptly. Unfortunately no one offered us a menu or even acknowledged us so we had to go inside to get one (you couldn’t order food on the app). Once we got a menu, we waited for half an hour for someone to take our order (we had to ask them). We ordered two children’s meals and two adult meals. After 45 minutes of waiting for our food, one of the kids meals randomly arrived. Another 15 minutes passed and no other food had arrived so we asked someone where it was and told her we had been waiting for an hour. The lady we spoke to said she would go and check. She came out 5 minutes later with a refund (this turned out not to be for us but for another table) and said that there had been a delay in the kitchen and it would be with us soon. No apology. I feel that a good manager would have been out to customers to apologise for any long delays that may have happened. Another 25 minutes passed and as we were about to ask for a refund and head home, our food finally arrived. The burger was good, the chicken dippers were good but unfortunately the gammon was dry and the egg over cooked. No one came to us to ask how the meal was. Due to the delay, we were there for just over 2 and a half hours, a lot of that just spent waiting. An hour and 25 minutes for an average meal is a long time to wait. Especially with a baby and a toddler. A bit of a disappointing experience to be honest.

I’m very unsure how to rate my experience tonight. The staff were very friendly and helpful. But several of them were wandering about without masks and not keeping any sort of distance. The food was lovely and everyone really enjoyed it. Hot and tasty and good value for money. I had a chicken New Yorker ciabatta which came with salad and a bowl of delicious tomato soup. A substantial meal and amazing value at £8.95. But the drinks were horrendously expensive which made the bill a nasty surprise. But, the big problem for me was that I didn’t feel at all safe, COVID wise. The table was dirty and sticky and I got goo on my hand and handbag. When I asked for it to be cleaned (which it clearly hadn’t been) I was given the excuse that whoever had cleaned it had used the wrong cleaning product! It’s either been cleaned or it hasn’t. This is such a serious matter in the present climate that it’s hard to forgive. Right behind us, there was a table of 10 (yes 10!) senior people, clearly not two households. They were using a couple of tables but they were shoulder to shoulder. They were very close to us and when they moved in and out they were practically brushing against us. How is this COVID safe? Why was it even allowed? I do have photographic evidence but I’m not posting it as I was photographing my grandchildren and the big group happened to be in the background. I know I’m ultra cautious about safety at the moment and this is the first time I’ve been out for a meal in well over a year. I just can’t understand why people are being allowed to flout the rules.

I won't be going here again- such a rip off Very expensive and below ordinary for what it was. Quality way below even wetherspoons yet almost twice the price. Waitresses lovely, friendly and doing a heroic job in such a busy environment.

I was there on Saturday afternoon, and the staff got my order wrong on 3 occasions, after the third time I went to complain and the landlords reply was, if you don't like the service f##k off somewhere else

I went to the Flower Pot today with a friend as a birthday and coming out of lockdown treat.The service from Max was excellent and the food we ordered was lovely. I wanted a desert as a treat for my birthday, I would highly recommend the Sticky Toffee Pudding :)

Firstly I'd like to state that this is the first and only negative review I've ever given, but really feel this needs to be highlighted.I arrived to a table at the pub before my friend and was advised by a member of staff to either order via scanning the qr code or with someone. I did it on the website as it just seemed easier.It gave me a confirmation of purchase message and an order time of 17:28 and I ordered a spiced rum & coke and a gin & tonic.After my friend arrived we waited half an hour, watching other drinks come out of the pub to various other tables. I asked a passing member of staff if they could possibly check where our drinks were. They said they would but never returned.We waited longer.. I asked another member of staff who said would check, didn't take a note of our table number and never returned.After sitting waiting for 55 minutes I decided to get up and go and ask myself inside.On speaking to the staff at the bar I was asked to show my confirmation which I did, but it had refreshed itself so now showed 18:22 instead. The bar staff pointed this out to me.. but the time was 18:23 when I was stood there.. so 1. why would I be complaining 1 minute after ordering, 2. was she trying to say I was lying about the time I ordered?Another staff member asked me for my table number, which I advised was 62. She then said "oh I've got your drinks here".. but they weren't our drinks, they were drinks ordered by 2 others who had joined us at our table at roughly 6pm.Behind the bar they had a stack of tickets so big I don't understand how there was any organisation at all.I was then rudely asked for proof of purchase, again as if I was lying. By this point I was pretty furious at the way I was being spoken to.I showed my payment on my banking app which confirmed a payment of £17.75 at 17:28. I was then just flatly asked what drinks I wanted, no apology. They were made for me and I carried them out to the table myself without being offered to have them taken for me.It was like I was causing a problem for them rather than them realising they (or the ticket machine) made a mistake and trying to rectify the problem.The poorest after-thought of an apology was given as I walked out.Think this place needs to seriously train its staff to deal with customer enquiries better & hire some more urgently.Absolutely shocking customer service.Definitely put me off going back, which is a huge shame as it's such a lovely pub.P.s. just to give some context, I've worked in luxury hospitality for over a decade & have never received such an attitude from anyone before over a small drinks order.

Decided to venture out after lockdown, arrived at pub sat outside eventually waitress arrived and we decided to order drinks and requested menu.I sat there for quite a while but due to first week out of lockdown was patient, eventually waitress arrived with menu then disappeared, waited another long while only to see same waitress leave after shift, I assumed my order request was passed on, waited another long while decided to order drink so we could get food.I ordered food and waited again for the next waitress to point in direction of pub and explain are cutlery was there not with are order as she walked away, the food was some of the worst I have ever eaten in a pub, a mush of oven chips soaked in sticky black sauce under cheese, a midget pot of humus and flat strips of card board pitta slices and a tiny salad, after 2 hours this was are reward, just one of these incidents would have been enough to never attend again, lockdown does not give you license to provide service like this and god awful food. I understand cutlery may be a Covid policy but mixed in a pile everybody else was touching, very odd!

I would like say that I recently enjoyed my stay at the flower pot. Although throughout the evening I went to the toilet to hear that the landlord and colleagues were chatting about another restaurant that I work at. So I was very entreagued to hear what they had to say about it. The landlord rudely told me that I could either use the toilet or leave the premisses. So I possitively replied to him saying that I just wanted to to know what they were talking about as I was interested. I happily replied to the landlord saying that their staff have greatly made my day enjoyable with service. Althought I think the landlord took this this wrong way. I was going to tip them very well which is very unfortionate. As I told the landlord that they should only have 1 person at the bar at a time he just walked away and went on his phone. I don't want to disapprove anything about this place as it was the first place I had a had a drink in 3 months also for my birthday. I'm just very unsatisfied with how I was dealt with althought I just wanted a friendly chat with the staff that were chatting about other restaurants at the time. I also understand how busy and stressful it can be with just opening after the pandemic. This is also what I have to deal with myself being in the hospitality myself. This was my first day out after months of being Iockdown/isolating. I just wanted a chat.

Went to the Flower Pot with my partner for Christmas Lunch. Never had a Christmas Lunch out before but there was no better place to have your first one. The standard of food, presentation,quality and the service of the Flower Pot is exceptional high. Yes things maybe quieter than usual but it makes no difference. It's a high class place but at low prices. The staff were extremely friendly and polite. All current social distancing restrictions are clearly being followed by the staff. The pub was nicely decorated for Christmas but not over whelming like a lot of places. They've got it spot on. Like I have said in previous reviews this places stands out from the rest of the pubs in Macclesfield, for its food, customer service and its layout. Thank You to everyone at the Flower Pot!

I’m puzzled by the negative reviews recently because our experience was absolutely excellent. Visited for lunch and the refurbed pub is superb inside with a really cozy Xmas feel, tastefully decorated. We did not feel that the table was too close to others and the rest of the pub did not look like it was any different. Staff were polite and quickly attended to our drink and then menu orders. Food was really nice and the chilli I had was really tasty and nicely medium spiced. For two and a half pints, a small wine and soda, soup, chilli and Xmas pudding the bill was £42 which is pretty good value. The toilets were spotless which is always a sign of a well run pub. We will be returning very soon and would recommend to anyone!

Came in for some lunch with my mum. It’s was beautifully decorated and the log fires were lit and very cosy and warm. We both had the Turkey sandwich and it was lovely! Staff were friendly and helpful as usual. We both felt so relaxed by the end of our visit and in the Christmas spirit. Definitely recommend!

Just nipped into the flowerpot for some grub and a swift half whilst walking with the dog, was greeted at the door by a lovely young woman who took me to my table and took my order, I had the BBQ Chicken and it was SUPERB! would definitely recommend it! Many thanks Louise for making my visit to the Flower pot enjoyable, will definitely be coming in again. 10/10

We like going into the Flowerpot but it’s a shame the staff acted like they’d never even heard off covid. Even the landlord was lackadaisical, almost like he wanted to get closed down. Casual mixing between tables, with half a mask on? Tables were also too close together, we wore our masks without a problem but seemed the staff didn’t want to. Not asking much are we? Probably won’t visit again until post covid.

Took my elderly mother in for a dinner time treat but we were unable to take our coats off because it was that cold . I mentioned it to the the staff who agreed and said it should start heating up but it never did. What’s the point in spending millions on a refit if the place isn’t fit for purpose. The food was poor quality, I had the scampi which was 80 percent batter and my mother had the turkey which she said was dry . It’s basic that are not being put into operation.

Staff didn't know who was serving who.No menus. Had to ask 3 times to order. Garlic bread rock hard, sticky chilly beef salad was nice, pie not so nice. Locals coming in for drink only, were allowed to walk to a table, not shown to it. People sat in groups that couldn't possibly be from the same household. Supposed to be 1 way around, people walked whichever way they wanted. Entrance being used as exit as well. Tables to close together.

Fantastic food, slow service, staff running round like headless chickens.3 tables with 2 people on each table, obviously together but not even a metre apart.Table of 4 men sat close together, can't be from the same family unless they were quads living together!!!Seem to be cramming people in before they lockdown!!Plenty of tables with friends meeting up, you're only supposed to be with your household, no wonder it's spreading in Cheshure East.

Since the refurb, I've been here a dozen times with friends, work colleagues, neighbours and family. Albeit only for a drink, everyone has enjoyed themselves. I'm not a fan of the Robinson ale but the Birra Moretti is excelent. For some reason, in the Lake District recently, I couldn't find a Moretti to match it, maybe it's the clean pumps?!As mentioned on my last review, the pub is smart, well laid out and the staff are friendly and professional. I haven't eaten here yet but I know people who have and reports have been good. It was quiet yesterday, difficult times, but I saw food being delivered to a couple on a nearby table, it looked good and they definitely seemed to enjoy it. Must give it a shot. Full marks to the pub for providing two sizes of fish and chips. The Albert in Windermere, also a Robinsons pub, serves a massive fish and chips for 14.50, I didn't eat again for the rest of the day, one size doesn't fit all.

Can’t recommend enough! Glen and staff went above and beyond for my daughters wedding meal after she had been let down by her original venue. Food was fantastic and staff were fabulous, couldn’t do enough. You made my daughters Covid wedding a thoroughly enjoyable day, thank you so much!!We will recommend without hesitation and will definitely be back

I went here for tea today and I can honestly say I will never return. The Sunday lunch was really bad, I had to leave the majority of the beef. My pudding arrived and it was cold, they took it away to heat it up and the next two puddings that arrived were also stone cold, when we asked the waiter to come over he thought it would be ok to say FFS.Don't waste your money.

Food is awful, stay away from pie unless you like stewing steak cold soggy veg. Large fish and chips the fish is tiny chips are bigger.The social distance is ok until your seated to close to other tables. Very disappointing will not be returning.

The refurb looks amazing we were really looking forward to going as we have eaten here many times before and the food and staff have been faultless.Unfortunately this visit was far from that, I ordered a white wine and lemonade and it came in a really small glass so I asked the waitress if she could put it in a larger glass and top it up with a little more lenonade as I don’t like it strong. I wasn’t then given another wine and what was meant to lemonade in two separate glasses to pour myself, the drink did not taste nice at all it was flat. I told the waitress and she sent Another drink which was wine and soda!! fourth drink later I got a wine and lemonade. Meal came we had a chicken Sunday dinner which really was not good at all. Under cooked roast potatoes, over cooked Yorkshire pudding and stuffing it really was not enjoyable at all .I ordered desert didn’t have my first choice or my second choice so didn’t have a desert.I ordered another wine and lemonade the waitress brought it over and said we have put lots of soda water in, I said it’s meant to be lemonade and she said yeah it is and walked off. I tasted it and it was wine and soda again. By the end I felt so frustrated with being given the wrong drink for the 5th time I sent it back and asked the waitress to cancel the drink off the bill.Bill came and I had been charged for it and then got questioned by the same waitress who took it back as to why I wasn’t paying for it! I have come away feeling really annoyed it felt like I was being made to look fussy when all’s I wanted was the correct drink, if I had of wanted wine and soda I would of ordered wine and soda I don’t order it as I do not like it!!! I think the young girl at the bar definantley needs some training and really needs to touch up on her customer service. Coming our with sarcastic comments really is not the way to treat customers.Sad to say we won’t be returning again.

First time I have visited the Flower Pot especially after the refurbishment...they had the Covid requirements in good order, staff were very friendly and very helpful...the Unicorn ale was kept at a high standard which was to be expected by Glen tbh and his family history of running pubs...the food was excellent and certainly filled the ‘belly’ so thanks guys...the only minor observation was that I would liked to have had the chips cooked a little longer until brown...very white looking...again personal preference but nice all the same...I would certainly recommend the Flower Pot on Congleton Rd to anyone...very impressed with the refurbishment and decor...

Visited with my daughters and had a lovely meal. The menu has plenty of choice so my picky eaters found something they loved for main course and also a pudding. I had the steak pie and wasn’t disappointed. It was excellent. Staff are friendly and attentive and there’s obviously been a lot of thought put into the COVID safety measures. If you live within striking distance of this place you’d been daft not to check it out.

This was the first time i'd visited for many years and was curious to try it after its refurbishment. I was really impressed. It looks great with a lovely modern decor and the staff were so friendly and really went the extra mile. Max particularly stood out. I ordered the Vegan Burger and he went out of his way to reassure me the mayo was Vegan etc. Myself and my partner enjoyed our meal with a couple of friends and would advise anyone to try here. The portions were huge and the food really tasty. there's a great selection of Ales, lagers and Wines too. We'll definitely be back soon, well done to Max and the team, a wonderfully welcoming afternoon.

Decided to stop for a meal while on route as it is a nice looking place. Ordered Beer battered fish, there is a choice of 2, £9.99 and £12.99, we chose the later as we were Hungary after 3 hours on the road. When the meal arrived I asked the waitress if this was the large fish, she said yes. it was like a Childs meal! To be fair what there was of it tasted ok.So if you visit this establishment beware fish portions are very small. Wish I had taken a photo to post.

This was the 2nd I've been to the Flower Pot since lockdown was lifted but the 1st time for lunch. Like the first time, it was a most pleasant experience. Excellent food, excellent service. Yes it was quiet but it was lunchtime, midweek can't do anything about that but saying that I prefer it that way, prevents anybody shouting thus increasing the risk of spreading Coronavirus. Sitting outside is an option given when arriving. On the subject of Coronavirus, all the staff are very compliant with current Government guidance but doesn't spoil enjoying having a lovely lunchtime meal with a friend. As the title suggests it is Macclesfield's best run pub by far at the moment for food, service, and hygiene. The brewery and all the staff are doing an incredible job there in keeping their customers happy and retained. Can't recommend this pub highly enough for either an evening or lunchtime meal.! A well earned 10/10

Was visiting the area and wanted a weekend lunch spot. Recommended by a friend who told me about the refurb. Very nice place, great decor, cheerful, helpful staff, lovely food and reasonably priced. Covid secure, for the current situation, which was reassuring. Would recommend and would visit again.

Tonight we decided to try our newly refurbed local pub! We were not disappointed we had a fantastic evening, lovely food, very reasonably priced, great menu choice, and wonderful service by Beth, who served us with a wonderful smile and nothing was to much, making our experience truly enjoyable! I visited today for my birthday with my Mum and my 2 children. My mum booked it after hearing the refurb was very good.The service was fantastic and the food delicious (we even ordered desserts) my son has additonal needs and felt very at ease due to the space and great Covid measures and safety in place...hand sanitising stations placed in numerous locations, a one way system in place and good distances between tables. A big thank you to Max for his happy smile and great customer service skills we most certainly will be back.

Pub has only opened a short while after a large refurbishment. That's been beautifully done social distancing was well done we were made very welcome table service was prompt. When the orders arrived meals looked and tasted well family were very happy with the whole meal. The choice on the menu was extensive.so a good afternoon.

My friends and I arrived at the flower to be welcomed by some lovely staff. Table wasn't quite ready for the time we reserved, fine! No problems there. Went to go for a drink outside and was informed our table has become free. The staff were lovely, they were clearly very organised. The interior of the pub has been done up wonderfully, looks stunning and really welcoming. We did however pick up two "issues". The table spacing of 1.5 metres was non-existent. And the food was below par in my opinion. Pizza was overdone and the cheese ontop had congealed. My pie was nice but nothing blew me away. And the sticky toffee pudding tasted cheap. In my opinion, both the pie and STP tasted like it had been bought in frozen and reheated. We didn't say anything to the staff as we were not checked back on during the meal but mainly because one of my mates took all the leftovers for his next couple of lunches. So it would've been unfair to have anything taken off the bill. All in all, the food is letting the decor and staff down. However I understand that the flower pot is restricted from a food perspective due to being owned by Robinson's. As we had a lovely warm and welcoming evening, it would be inconsiderate to leave less than the stars I have!

Absolutely wonderful service while we had an 18th meal in the marquee outside. Food was lovely and hot, quick and polite service and very accomodating. Would definitely recomend.

Where do I start, the place is immaculate , stunning decorations, and lovely staff, the food however is better than sex, the 3 starters were amazing and the mains were to die for. The manager I believe it was , was so friendly along with a blonde girl who made our meal very enjoyable. To follow it up, a lovely boy , quite good looking if I do say, was a star, he gave me a good laugh and was very polite , his name was Liam , a man I shall not forget. He is beautiful , but overall I must say the whole meal was great, food was 10/10, staff were the best and the pub is the nicest one I have been too. Flower pot you have done Macclesfield good! Honestly amazing! The food was lovely! The waitress calls Beth was honestly the sweetest person ever! Can not fault her waitressing skills made us feel so welcome and always made sure we were okay! Needs a promotion ASAP! 😁😁

First visit since refurbishment. They have done a great job both inside and out. As for the food, not overpriced and would suit someone on a budget, geneours portions but lacked the quality that would make you come again.
