We found this little Cafe by chance and were really glad because the food is 1st class, plentiful and hot 🔥 we've been back a few times now 😀 and we will be going back. Ann and Dave

This is a wonderful, authentic country style, old pub with a real fire. It's dog friendly. The food is really tasty and they regularly do speciality nights, like Pie & Pint and Curry eve. It's very good value for money. We recently held my mum's 80th here, they provided a lovely buffet. My absolute favourite pub in the area.

We had the usual for lunch which was delicious. In addition we had cake to follow and there is always a good selection. Today Rachel had baked a delicious cake called called sticky Orange. It was fabulous, very moist, delicious taste and after taste. Not too sweet, just right. Many thanks Rachel 😊 for another creation.

Shabaz Curry Cottage. The old Barn, Radcliffe Moor Road, Radcliffe Lancashire M26 3WL. TEL: 0161 7240000 Date of visit: 21st January 2024. Having left Radcliffe over 20 years ago it has been a long time since I set foot in this place. This is yet another Indian restaurant with a checkered history. Formally the Curry Cottage, though it still retains the name in its livery. Situated right across the road from the Sparking Clog Pub. OK, three of us arrived on a Tuesday evening to a warm and friendly welcome. A smart, if a bit clinical, 86-seater. We ordered from the extensive menu a selection of starters and mains with a selection of Spiced Poppadom’s with an excellent pickle tray to kick us off. Lamb chops which really did look the business though I must be honest I did not sample them. I of course had the Sheek Kebab which I can report was the customary size of two sausages of perfectly spiced minced Lamb served on a bed of fresh salad and yoghurt sauce. Onion Bhaji’s which I can report were crispy and very tasty. Mains: For me it had to be my benchmark of Chicken Madras, Again, first class! A king Prawn Balti masala, again, was so tasty. A mixed Karahi, which arrived in a very authentic cast iron Karahi bucket. All of which were very different flavours! We shared a couple of Mushroom rice and Chapatis with a Butter Paratha. I have to say that this visit was very different to my last visit albeit some years ago. Easy Parking. Licenced, they take Card payment or cash. I will give this place based on this evening, a solid 9/10 I would recommend this place.

Lovely beer garden and great beer. Play area for the kids but dogs not allowed in pub. Big grassy area at back though with bowls of water everywhere.

Very slow food service. We waited 50 minutes for 4 pizzas but after 40 minutes were told that they had a pizza party which was why there was a wait. If only the kitchen staff had communicated this to the waiting staff we would have ordered something different. When the pizzas arrived they were very good, but a shame about the service.

We brought my 92 year old mum for lunch and a look round today and feel so strongly about the attitude of many of the staff that it has led to this email. The restaurant staff were mostly unwelcoming and cold in their manner, as were the staff on the cake and cheese stall. On leaving the young woman on the till had to be asked to pack my mum’s shopping in a carrier bag. As front of house I expect a polite and friendly manner. I’ve just read the trip advisor reviews for the last year for the restaurant and they echo my thoughts regarding service. I’m afraid we won’t be returning but I do hope that staff morale and attitude improve TRIED TO SEND THIS AN EMAIL TO GARDEN CENTRE BUT LINK DOES NOT WORK
