Esme made the bottomless brunch especially fun and even arranged for me a tiny espresso martini when I told her I always love the sound of them but can never finish them! Great service.
Went at opening time on a Saturday in January, so it was quiet but still a few tables booked.. so the atmosphere was down but meant our food came fast and fresh to order..
Can’t really fault the food at all, was all fresh and you could see the effort that had gone into the preparation..
I had the sharing platter which was only £17.50PP; 3 big ribs, 2 big wings, a large portion of pulled pork & pulled brisket, homemade smoked sausage, fries, ranch beans, coleslaw & a handful of pickles..
If I had one gripe it would be the brisket not being sliced and kept whole but it was still very nice and tender when pulled.
You get 3 homemade sauces at the table, Tennessee BBQ, Honey Sriracha & Carolina Mustard… all 3 are superb.
The host/owner is very nice welcoming lady with plenty gusto and a great sense of honour..
Will definitely return!
My absolute favourite restaurant, freshly cooked food, and beautiful wine. Such a friendly team who works and owns it. I have been going for 13 years and still my favourite restaurant my daughter also loves going and requests to go as much as me.
Gorgeous, quaint pub. Food was delicious. Ample parking. Sister pub across the road looks good too. Will be visiting again... After completing the Roebuck Walk, I think! Also, would love to stay at some point too!
Was a superb restaurant, I met Anto before he opened , he was in Liverpool looking for a location and found Rodney st .. unfortunately it has had to close , not sure why , it's a shame , I hope they sort out the staff if wages are owed, sad to see a nice place close times are difficult..much bigger restaurants than this have closed there doors. Hope the staff find jobs , Anton I hope you are ok , it's a tuff time ,
Delicious food, well presented
Lovely staff and good service
However -
Given 4* - uncomfortable dining -
The temperature in the dining room was cold
( despite wearing winter clothing ) The radiator nearby wasn’t throwing out any heat and the portable one provided was ineffective. If the room heating was working it would have been a perfect dining experience !
Messed my order up
So I ended up with a rare steak my.freind had my medium.rare. turns out I like rare steak. Happy accident. But would of rather had the correct order. The beef dripping sauce is nothing but ordinary gravy.

Had a fantastic time learning and try so many amazing gins. Akiel was so informative and was such a great host. Really loved learning about the different gins and trying all the amazing flavoured liverpool gins made on site. I took my mum for her birthday and she loved it so much. We were so well looked after by Akiel I can’t wait to go again. Already purchased a bottle of the liverpool Rose petal gin, my new favourite. The bar was so lovely too, after the gin tasting we sat and drank the mostly beautifully presented gin. I will be visiting again very soon.
