Little Tap in Cheshire West and Chester

Our favourite place for a drink, we have been coming a lot recently and we love it.

Waitresses were so lovely and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious. Had such a lovely lunch here and at a very reasonable price too. Definitely try this little gem next time you're in the area.

Couldn't comment on food as I didn't eat Just had a drink with friends. Great atmosphere and excellent service.

Went with a few friends for lunch. Fantastic food (the duck was excellent) great service and the best Red Berry tea I’ve had.

The current menu is superb. Octopus, shin beef, cod cheeks, pavé of beef etc. I come to Tarporley every three months of so and Little Tap is our place to go for lunch above all others. Such good food matched with excellent wines. Good luck with the new premises across the road!

Beautiful poached eggs,generous amount of bacon on my sons bacon bap and huge portion of lovely hash browns and excellent service as usual from staff,definitely recommend!!!!

Whenever we are visiting from Scotland, we make a beeline for this bar. It is very warm and welcoming, the beer is good and we just love it!

Everything about The Little Tap was great, friendly attentive staff excellent food at a great price.

Food - Brilliant, just go for the food, loved it, however as it’s a bar as well, I found it quite noisy eating until the pre dinner drinkers either sat down or when somewhere else. But please done let that put you off the food and service is worth the noise.

Delicious food in a beautifully cosy atmosphere. The service is amazing so friendly nothing is too much.

My second time at Little Tap. Another excellent lunch, great tastes, friendly and knowledgeable service and an ambience that doesn’t require shouting. The menu is not comprehensive which means attention to detail and care in its execution pays off with delicious food. They also know how to serve an affogato, many places get it wrong. Please add a dessert wine to your list and perhaps invest in a quality front door closure system. I look forward to the next visit in March.

We had an early evening meal. Perfect dishes served with care and attention to detail. The passion of the owner is a delight and results in the best possible experience.

Dropped into this place on a rainy Saturday afternoon.. what a fantastic place! Atmosphere so relaxing & chilled, bar looks fab & even better was THE most delicious tasting gin I have ever tried, it was their own brand! Just wonderful. I will be back for sure.

Had been wanting to visit for a while as the menu and beer looked promising. We were not disappointed after popping in on a busy Saturday to be given a table immediately and met with amazing service and friendly atmosphere, the food was fantastic and selection of beers equally as good, would recommend very highly 😊

With the demise of Piste, Tarporley seemed a little short of excellent food offerings. A few months ago we popped into Little Tap because the restaurant we were to have lunch at didn’t open until 12. We were intrigued my the brunch-lunch, small plates and the atmosphere. So when I came up this time we booked to go to Little Tap. The lunch menu, served from noon onwards is based on the idea of a suggestion of 2-3 plates each, a la tapas. Well if any has any complaints on the generosity of the portions they are living in cloud cuckoo land. Delicious and very filling. I had the focchacia, then bouillabaisse (superb), pace steak, fennel salad and finally an affogato. All delicious and will be our go to place to eat in Tarporley. Lovely staff and a chef that needs awards!

The Little Tap is a super wine bar with great food, a good wine selection (particularly like the Cortese) and excellent service. It has a lively & friendly vibe, music nights are always enjoyable. Great attention to detail & the menu. Love it, we are fortunate to have it on the high street.

Just had dinner with my partner and felt obligated to leave a review. The food was outstanding, atmosphere was brilliant and lovely staff and clearly very talented chefs. How this place doesn’t have a Michelin star I do not know.

Our favourite please to go in Tarporley. Great good, atmosphere and staff. Great for evening drinks and the Sunday roast is AMAZING. The owner is lovely and very friendly

Superb chilled out bar with a tremendous selection of craft beers, ales, lagers, wines, and spirits. Myles and his team truly understand what makes a bar vibrant and welcoming, and the food is exceptional, you will not be disappointed!

Came here for a pre-Christmas family celebration. Mum was a convert already and now I am too. Wide selection of beers with the cask ale in great condition! Every morsel of food that passed my lips was delicious. Particular mentions go to the short rib beef tacos and the pear sorbet. The latter was both refreshing and indulgent and served with a shot of house gin that complimemted it beautifully. I'm a visitor to these parts but can confidently say that the quality of food and drink on offer here, coupled with the excellent service and relaxed atmosphere, make this a must visit for anyone within an hour's drive.

Another gorgeous experience. The lamb fritters were spectacular and the potato terrine - perfection. From one local restaurant manager to another; you hit everything from a warm welcome, amazing dishes and a consistent greatness, don't change a thing. Thank you again for another wonderful evening. Basically, tapas. Lots of small dishes rather than a large plate, interesting choices, a range of varying beers, and great coffee.

Had a great night here with family. Very cosy restaurant, good atmosphere. We all liked our choices of food very much. Service was excellent, had a good laugh with our waitress. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and so will return, thank you all at the Little Tap.

Great place for a drink and a loud chat with friends. Lively atmosphere, maybe a little roudy but thats its USP. If you want peace and quiet go to almost any other hostilry. This place is alive. Just a little criticism; how about some better seating, those tin seats ar a little tough on the bum. But on the whole, love it.

Cosy great food fantastic service

Food is great but the beer is wonderful. They don’t shy away from more experimental beers whilst keeping a good stock of more accessible/entry craft beers. Must try for any craft beer lover.

Popped in for drinks on Christmas Eve. It was busy with a lovely atmosphere. The bar staff were friendly and let us sample the draft ales before buying pints. Cute and trendy decor. A great selection of beers, wines and cocktails. Would recommend.

There are times (when you shouldn’t but you do) that you take things for granted, we have been regulars at Little Tap since they opened and the service atmosphere and food are always excellent however we had lunch off the new Little Plates menu today and it was truly outstanding, a must come haunt for regulars and village visitors, well done team Tap x

Popped in for a take away coffee as was assured this place did great coffees.Tasted like it was burnt, and the lid was shocking, half way down the street ended up with a jumper covered coffee. - luckily I went on a day when they served cold coffee so I was safe, but be aware on a day when you get a hot coffee - make sure the lid fits. Looks like it may be a decent haunt for the locals, it had that kind of ‘wanna be a chincy bar’ with its wood and wooden crates vibe and slightly dark inside.

A fantastic and tasty lunch e everything was good, service always good. Smoked cod was fab and cheese board was special.. Polite friendly staff make the atmosphere great.

Great place to drop in to for a drink (they even make cocktails) and a plate or two of food. Not massive plates so it's lovely to choose a few different ones and share. Couldn't find friendlier staff anywhere!

Can’t fault this little gem. Great concept, love craft beer and small plates. Staff very pleasant couldn’t of asked more from their service and was well looked after from start to finish which added to the experience. Saying this it wouldn’t of been the same without the outstanding food flavour and presentation although I was very full I just wanted to keep eating more of these lovely plates of food. Will be returning as many times as my wallet allows me.

So I was down these neck off the woods,visiting old friends in tarporley, and off course this weekend gone it was tarp fest an event that was happening during my little stop. Drinking beer and having laughs with my old friends, going to the live music events and genuinely having a good old time in the village. We stopped off at the Little Tap, by this point I had visited most places in the village for a beverage and some sort off food source to keep me going through the night. I came here for some beers, and a few snacks, tried some lovely ales and had some splendid food for dinner and the crisps weren’t half bad either!! Will be visiting again soon and this visit was just the icing on the cake for me, thank you tarporley.

We stay at a site in Eaton and eat in Tarporley and thought we’d try this place as had reasonable reviews, actually felt well and truly fleeced!! We enjoy a good tapas bar but this place failed dismally. Staff very pleasant, explained the menu etc. Ordered bread with oil and Camembert cheese with garlic truffle oil, bread very nice, the cheese over powered with truffle oil and garlic and the toast you could have broken a tooth on it was so hard, cost a staggering £11.00. Then had squid pasta with langoustine, no season in the pasta, a fish cake that my husband had one bite of and couldn’t eat as all he could taste was salt and pepper, staff had come back to check all ok and we advised of both issues and were told they would mention to chef. I had the pork in black pudding with cabbage which to be fair was edible but not £11.00 worth able. We left having paid £55.40 foe mostly inedible food and would not eat here again or recommend. The owners need to strip back to basics and get the food and level of customer service sorted out, to many better places to eat in this lovely village that knock spots off them.

Sorry guys but feel we have just been fleeced! We love tapas bars but the food needs to be very good as well as the setting and staff. We had breads, very nice, baked Camembert nice but way to much garlic and £11 !!! Then sqid pasta , sorry tasteless, fish cake , ate a mouthful advised young lad it just tased of salt and pepper, just said he would advise chef, no offer to replace.. I had the black pudding pork, tasty but again over priced. The worst was truffle skins, OMG how to ruin skins and disrespect such a wonderful oil, no idea how much they added but couldn’t take advantage of the wonderful flavour a small drop would give as it seemed they poured a whole bottle on them, we ate 2 each. Will we return NO will we recommend NO bill £55.40 includes 2 drinks. Need sharpen their pencil and price more realistic and replace or remove from bill food returned as inedible.

Our first time dining here today, after many visits just for drinks. Have got to say, we really weren’t disappointed, although we didn’t honestly expect to be. The food, wine, hospitality and general atmosphere of the place is second to none. We both had a couple of the main tapas plates to share as a starter, followed by an awesome roast beef Sunday dinner. All served piping hot, incredible local produce coupled with ample portions. Although well fed, we did save room to share the chocolate and salted caramel fondant pudding which was absolutely spot on. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, the staff professional and unobtrusive. Myles and the team ... you’re doing a great job, keep up the good work!

Went for Sunday lunch. Service always excellent, very personalised. Ordered the Sunday roast, excellent beef with amazing Yorkshire pudding and extra gravy (a must). They did a special Chicken dinner for my wife who doesn’t eat beef. Couldn’t ask for More

My son and I called in for coffee in the morning and decided to return early evening for food and beer.. So glad we did... Everything was perfect. The food was some of the tastiest I've had for a long time.. We chose 3 small plates between us and roasted root veg and chips.. The small plates were pollock, celeriac and cashew tagine and gnocchi with fennel... Fabulous tastes and freshly cooked to perfection... Thank you for a lovely evening

A great gem in Tarporley. Went for Christmas and food over Christmas. The food is beautiful. The bar staff are so friendly & accommodating. It’s a must visit if not he area. The bar has a great atmosphere as is smaller than some of the other venues in Tarporley.

on a night out in tarporley we popped in to the little tap on the high street for a couple of drinks....i was pleasantly surprised how busy this place was....great atmosphere, a really good selection of lagers, beers and wines...i didnt order any food ,however the food coming out of the kitchen looked really good.....This is going to be my next port of call in trying out the menu next week.

What a great bar, great selection of cask ales, friendly staff. We where with friends and our 3 year old son, my wife forgot her handbag and the honest, friendly Barman followed us down the street to return it to us. Thank you so much for your honesty and a great bar, highly recommend. Will certainly visit again....

Went for brunch on a Sunday. The way they serve tea is very lovely, a really nice touch. The food was amazing, probably some of the best poached eggs we’ve ever had. Bacon was cooked to perfection. Reasonably well priced. Service was fantastic by two young-ish boys

Good choice on the menu, all cooked fresh, good sized tapas portions. The coffee is delicious but no soya available. Very good value for money. Seating not too comfortable. Visit again definitely.
