The best restaurants in Redcar and Cleveland North East

Visited recently with friends for Sunday lunch. The food was excellent as was the service. Plenty of staff. The only downside is the price of drinks. Very expensive. Cannot fault the food or service. Well worth a visit.

The pizza was amazing me and my family thoroughly enjoyed the food The customer service was also great My sons got a burger and chips and he said the chips were perfectly cooked

Been coming here for a few years now and had no complaints. But the last twice we have called it was the worst fish and chips we have ever had . They had just fried some fresh chips but they were hard and scrappy . The fish or lack of fish was very rubbery and there was more chewy batter than fish . Will not be calling there for a while . Don’t know what has happened as we always recommend this fish shop .

The food is lovely however book well in advance as the delivery is not good very very long wait we had

We sat outside on a nice sunny lunchtime. After a short wait we ordered two portions of quiche with salad and coleslaw and drinks. We both thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.

I called in to purchase an item which I’d seen many months ago. I asked the lady, who I imagine was a senior member of staff, what would be the death on the price of the items I was interested in. She looked at the ticket, which read £159, and said £159! No wiggle room I asked? No she said, but if you buy it at full price we will send you a voucher for your next purchase! Highly unlikely as I don’t visit Saltburn that often. She just let me walk out of the store! All I wanted was to give the local shops business, but a little discount would’ve been nice. Needless to say I didn’t buy the item, and managed to find exactly the same item online from a store in the south for £112! I rest my case.

My first time at the Tomahawk, booked a table for 4 of us and from our arrival where we were greeted with a warm reception, to excellent food and great service, I cannot praise this place enough. Our table servers were Melissa and Sam, both of them were very professional, very engaging and delivered a faultless service. Both these young and pleasant individuals took care of our needs for the duration of our 3 hour stay. Although we left a substantial tip, I’d be grateful if you could pass on our thanks and ensure both their contributions are duly noted. We shall be back.

Such a lovely atmosphere, very helpful staff wouldn't do enough for us, been twice once with dogs and the other without and both times were fantastic, would highly recommend

We have been to Tocketts Mill a few times and each time we have really enjoyed our meals and our time there. We like the option of sitting in the conservatory which has a really nice atmosphere, when the weather is colder they have fires which warm up the place and when it is sunny the place is a sun trap and it’s a really nice place to sit and eat. The service is also really good, staff are friendly and polite and remember you when you go back which is really nice. Our food choices have been really good, tasty, hot and the portions are generous. The triple cooked chips are lovely and we would recommend the Parmo.

Food was lovely and very well priced. Took our Labrador who loved the doggy burger we bought him. Lovely friendly staff who all love dogs and go out of their way to make you fell welcome. Definitely recommend

We had heard nothing but bad reports about the tavern from friend and family that have been but thought we would check it out for our selves . All I can say is disgusting .everything we asked for off the menu we had to pick something else because they had ran out so two of us had fish and chips for main . As they own the fish and chip shop over the road which is very good I thought it would be a good choice. How wrong could you be the fish was so well done the batter was rock hard and the fish inside had shrivelled up to nothing . And the chips were burned . The other two in my party got the mixed grill that wasn’t much better. Over cooked and everything on the plate tasted of liver . Won’t be going again . Could be really nice because a lot has been spent on the place but they need a decent chef . Or employ a chef instead of bar staff doing the cooking .

Good pasties and Great for treats. I would reccomend the peach melba and the cookie monster.
