Norman Conquest in Redcar and Cleveland

i came here for my girlfriends 24th birthday and the staff were so supportive and attendant to us all! so friendly and welcoming! would definitely recommend to everyone and anyone with children or even of your coming for a drink! staff are so friendly and happy! please come and see for yourselfs!

I recently visited the Norman conquest as I have heard great things about the drinks and food. But what i enjoyed the most was the wonderful staff including a lovely woman called Jenny. She told me that they had recently made the pub dog friendly and I’ll be sure to visit again.

The Norman conquest is a friendly welcome pub with the staff always being talkative and friendly, we are frequently in the pub and they never seem to dissapoint, Vicky is a lovely happy person that always treats us well and has nice conversations with us

Had a rump steak 🥩 was delicious and a lasagne,then an epic chocolate sundae, steak was cooked to perfection for me, service was spot on ,served by a lovely barman called Jake, pub ,grub and service was great 👍

Sunday dinner disgusting turkey out of a pkt you buy in supermarket massive heavy plate of slop with a tiny egg cup of gravy omg green little slop of mash soggy roasties massive yorky you couldn't bite never mind cut then a pile of soggy carrots brocoli green beans rock hard blob of stuffing all slopped onto big massive plate asked for more gravy cost me just under 4 pound to buy these so called beef dripping egg cups of gravy which had no beef flavour just the over whelming taste of red wine that I cannot bare the taste of the waitress came to collect our plates which were full of the slop and asked if we wanted to box it to take home our faces said it all this is the worst dining experience I have ever had in the whole of my life on match day it was packed and a lot of people sat around us were mortified at the slop on our plates and the regulars already knew the others were disgusted I say close that kitchen down now it's a lovely pub but you cannot send food out like that and charge money for it sort it out before you face criminal charges

I love this place the burger was lovely and soo was the fries I would definitely recommend 5 stars the atmosphere was buzzing would go again

Came on Wednesday night as sun was shining so we decided to go sit outside have a bit of food with the kids.. busy was a understatement we were served by a lovely lady called Joanne she explained the massive wait on food but we didn’t have a problem with that We did wait what seemed a lifetime for it to come but when it came it was lovely and hot.. we did notice on leaving Joanne and the wonderful staff were apologising to people for the wait.. well done to all off them they were run of there feet.. we will be back soon

This green king pub is the best in the area for food and service. We eat here regularly and always enjoy our visit. I would recommend this venue

We came here after recommendations and can see why from the food to the service we received. Hannah on the bar made it an experience we are unlikely to forget and is one of the reasons we will be back.

Amazing place! Staff couldn't do enough for us. Super kind and went above and beyond for us. The food was fab and excellent value (the £15.99 sharing chicken platter was immense and sooooo huge) and our Labrador was super happy to sit under the table spending the night with his family and loved being fussed. defo recommend 👌

Pints are flat, food was OK. Staff friendly enough but given how quiet it was we had slow service clearing plates. Place looks alright.

Arrived at about 5 for something to eat as we had booked a table as they had a live band on that night , there were four of us and as we walked in we were greeted and shown to our table , we all chose a different selection of the chicken mix platters and we could not fault any of them, nice, hot , and tasty, and plentiful, would definitely recommend coming here

From entering the pub we were welcomed by smiles and laughter from the staff. Obviously enjoying their job s. Our pre booked table was ready with menus and our order was taken quickly. The bar service was really good and the food excellent and to a good standard.

Always an extremely busy pub with lots of families. Food was great but always takes a while. Drinks are fairly standard prices. Buy one get one free burgers on a Thursday - can't go wrong. Blonde lady behind the bar was lovely

I ordered 3 meals, 2 meals very good but the 3rd meal a chicken curry was a very small portion, 5 small pieces of chicken .Even the waitress said she had told the chief that it was a small portion but it is bought in cooked and in individual portions.Will not be ordering the chicken curry again.

Went for a meal with my girlfriend, had a King Mixed Grill with the steak cooked to perfection She had the Ultimate Sharer which was perfect as she likes to mix up her meal. Food was hot and fresh and was nice to see good cleanliness, definitely an improvement since they had the refurb. Staff are always friendly and polite, a welcoming place to have some good food. Me and my wife visited yesterday for lunch. The staff were attentive and friendly and explained everything that had changed since the last time we visited. The food was served quickly and their new toasties are a lot more appealing than the sub rolls they use to do. All in all a great visit!

Visited during the day so wasn’t too busy. Had the sirloin steak which was well cooked. My son had the “build your own” pasta which he really enjoyed. Finished with the cookie dough cheesecake which was delicious and a very generous portion. Staff were friendly and attentive. Looking forward to my next visit.

Me and my partner don’t really get much time to ourselves but found we were unexpectedly free so popped to the Norman Conquest for some tea. With lockdown etc it’s been some time since we’ve been there but we were pleasantly surprised to find a new menu on offer! Thankfully Raechael was there to answer some questions we had and help us with our selections. Nothing was a problem or inconvenience and she even recommended some deserts and, as it was a treat, we went ahead with these…I mean, we’ve been locked in the house for how long, spoil yourself! We opted for a Stingy Burger and Philly Steak toastie for our mains and let me tell you we were not disappointed! Hot, fresh, and that good amount of wait time were you’re not waiting too long but it’s long enough to know it’s been made fresh (how worrying is it when you’ve barely ordered and it’s at your table!). The place itself was clean and welcoming and me and my partner really enjoyed the time we got to spend together. I can’t wait to go back and try something else!
