We came here after recommendations and can see why from the food to the service we received. Hannah on the bar made it an experience we are unlikely to forget and is one of the reasons we will be back.

Amazing place! Staff couldn't do enough for us. Super kind and went above and beyond for us. The food was fab and excellent value (the £15.99 sharing chicken platter was immense and sooooo huge) and our Labrador was super happy to sit under the table spending the night with his family and loved being fussed. defo recommend 👌

Pints are flat, food was OK. Staff friendly enough but given how quiet it was we had slow service clearing plates. Place looks alright.

Arrived at about 5 for something to eat as we had booked a table as they had a live band on that night , there were four of us and as we walked in we were greeted and shown to our table , we all chose a different selection of the chicken mix platters and we could not fault any of them, nice, hot , and tasty, and plentiful, would definitely recommend coming here

From entering the pub we were welcomed by smiles and laughter from the staff. Obviously enjoying their job s. Our pre booked table was ready with menus and our order was taken quickly. The bar service was really good and the food excellent and to a good standard.

Always an extremely busy pub with lots of families. Food was great but always takes a while. Drinks are fairly standard prices. Buy one get one free burgers on a Thursday - can't go wrong. Blonde lady behind the bar was lovely

Went for lunch with 3 kids… ordered 5 meals. Informed for 45 min waiting for the food. Turned to be morethan 1 hr. Cant cancelled the food and had to deal with 3 grumpie kids . Ruined the whole experience. Never again !!. Very busy restaurant with only 2 or 3 staffs at the floor????

I ordered 3 meals, 2 meals very good but the 3rd meal a chicken curry was a very small portion, 5 small pieces of chicken .Even the waitress said she had told the chief that it was a small portion but it is bought in cooked and in individual portions.Will not be ordering the chicken curry again.

Went for a meal with my girlfriend, had a King Mixed Grill with the steak cooked to perfection She had the Ultimate Sharer which was perfect as she likes to mix up her meal. Food was hot and fresh and was nice to see good cleanliness, definitely an improvement since they had the refurb. Staff are always friendly and polite, a welcoming place to have some good food. Me and my wife visited yesterday for lunch. The staff were attentive and friendly and explained everything that had changed since the last time we visited. The food was served quickly and their new toasties are a lot more appealing than the sub rolls they use to do. All in all a great visit!

Visited during the day so wasn’t too busy. Had the sirloin steak which was well cooked. My son had the “build your own” pasta which he really enjoyed. Finished with the cookie dough cheesecake which was delicious and a very generous portion. Staff were friendly and attentive. Looking forward to my next visit.

Me and my partner don’t really get much time to ourselves but found we were unexpectedly free so popped to the Norman Conquest for some tea. With lockdown etc it’s been some time since we’ve been there but we were pleasantly surprised to find a new menu on offer! Thankfully Raechael was there to answer some questions we had and help us with our selections. Nothing was a problem or inconvenience and she even recommended some deserts and, as it was a treat, we went ahead with these…I mean, we’ve been locked in the house for how long, spoil yourself! We opted for a Stingy Burger and Philly Steak toastie for our mains and let me tell you we were not disappointed! Hot, fresh, and that good amount of wait time were you’re not waiting too long but it’s long enough to know it’s been made fresh (how worrying is it when you’ve barely ordered and it’s at your table!). The place itself was clean and welcoming and me and my partner really enjoyed the time we got to spend together. I can’t wait to go back and try something else!

My hubby ordered the scampi and chips and I’ve got to say we were both shocked when we saw it! It was like a kids meal! Certainly won’t be eating there again. It was the worst meal we’ve ever had in a pub!

ordered the 'go large' " fish shop platter" was served the smallest piece of fish ever, which was 70% batter. the 4 Whitby scampi were similar to Iceland frozen shrimp in batter. all this after a 50 min wait. to top it off the lager was flat, both the Carling and the Peroni.

My family and I visit the Norman Conquest on a regular basis and everything is usually brilliant but today was appalling. The noise was outrageous as there was a group of around 30 young people all sat on tables pushed together (covid waiting to happen)!It felt very intimidating. The beef on the Sunday lunch was very tough and we waited ages after ordering drinks.

Always come here for a date night its our go to place however tonight was shocking. We arrived to wait an hour for a drink and to be made to pay up front for drinks and meals even though normally we just open a tab and witnessed several people asking to pay there's tonight so it was literally just aimed at us. Our starters arrived with our mains so majority got wasted because we didn't want our mains to go cold. Overall poor service tonight seriously disappointed.

First visit to newly refurbished Norman Conquest. Initial impressions are its a lot better:  cleaner, better spaced, nicer setup, fresher feel, more Covid secure. Popped in with family just before tea time rush and enjoyed the experience. Sure we'll be back very soon.

Ordered fish and chips, fish was grey and batter not cooked, sloppy inside. Would never go there again total waste of money.

We meal for a family meal. The manager had been friendly and helpful the day before when we had booked it, and the assistant manager had been good when we arrived. The staff were attenuative although they did not ask if the meal was ok. They gave us extra sauces. We had the ultimate starter which was nice and we would probably have again. The fried halloumi was done nicely, The cocktail pitcher my wife had had far too much ice in, which watered it down. They did not have Guinness although the IPA was nice. The steaks were disappointing, as they had a liver like flavour to them. The chicken tasted like it had been been boiled or microwaved, and had an unpleasant texture. The onions were rather soggy and flavourless. The chips were supposed to be an extra large portion, but there were only about 10 of them, and the peas tasted to be of poor quality. The staff in the bar were welcoming and responded to an issue with the toilets. . We paid with Green King card. It was over priced for the quality of the food. Overall the staff were nice, the food was fairly mediocre considering it was a specialist grill pub. We would go again and have a few snacks rather than a full meal, as the service was good.

Food came quickly and was lovely and hot. Tried the new steak skewer which came with rice and flatbread and was very tasty. Would definitely visit again.

Excellent service, waiter was very efficient at taking our orders and made us feel very welcome. Food was quick to arrive and hot. Had offer of kids meals for £1 which was a nice bonus! One of our party is gluten free and there was enough variety on the menu for them. Pub had very good covid measures which made us feel very safe.

Was a lovely meal, nice place, friendly staff, bit over the top with the covid stuff. Got attacked by a couple of flies when started eating as windows wide open but they seemed to go. Worth a visit for a nice pub meal.

My family and I visited the Conquest for the first time since the lock down was lifted and, in general, enjoyed the visit. As directed, I tried booking a table via the app but, despite getting an email stating I would have a confirmation within 24 hours, received nothing. I was forced to phone directly and the nice lady I spoke to corrected the problem. The pub is now completely Covid-19 compliant and we felt pretty much safe while we were inside. I tried ordering food and drink via the app but, unfortunately, again it failed to work. Fortunately we were able to go directly to the bar to order. The staff were very friendly and efficient, however, I personally was less impressed with the food. The menu is now very restricted in comparison to the post Covid-19 one, perhaps understandable given circumstances. I ordered the mixed grill which was fine but my wife and daughter had the scampi, which was very poor faire. Small portions and very poorly laid out. In truth, when it arrived it looked pathetic. Fortunately we did not have a long wait but other tables near to us waited over an hour for their orders to arrive. All in all, nice company but no more than average food.

Great seniors all day breakfast, good staff, drinks bought to table, good value, plenty of parking space.
