The Plimsoll Line in Redcar and Cleveland

Made to feel welcome, had a friendly atmosphere. We only had drinks in there.

As chains go this isn't bad. Usually busy and often noisy but it's a great place to grab something to eat and a pint. Cost is very reasonable and food generally is pretty decent, especially for the price. If you're looking for a quiet place for dinner this isn't for you but if you're after decent food and drink on a budget then it's definitely worth a visit.

Overcrowded made worse by family with worlds biggest pram which parked and blocked a number of other tables they had a toddler climbing over it and a baby crying not a good atmosphere at all

Didn't eat but had a few drinks with friends. As usual in a Wetherspoons pub the prices are good and the atmosphere is good. Great place for a drink and conversation.

Fast friendly service good prices as a spoons, nice clean beer garden with a shaded area just had a managers special berger and a pint for £6,80 very good food and a good pint definitely recommend

This is where all the folk of Redcar are hiding!!! Modern feel with a good vibe, noticed they had changed the menu slightly, it used to be you could get snacks, ie chicken wings, chips etc but they've put them all into a meal format with a drink, alcoholic or non alcoholic....obviously the price has gone up!! Not a good move in my and a mates opinion. Didn't test the food this time but the drinks were typical Wetherspoons good value and great selection. Never been in before but will try and make it a regular event, would definitely recommend.

Great spoons, food came out very fast and was very hot on a nice hot plate. Drinks were served and delivered fast. Staff helpful and friendly.

As wetherspoons pubs go wasn't really impressed not very welcoming

There's one person goes in the plimsoll line every day he's a fat bald benefit scrounger alcoholic and scruffy git.never seen so many scruffy people go in there and the bad language is a disgrace. also some good staff and some really bad staff.the benefit scrounger I'm on about is called graham

Ran out of steaks on Sreak night by 6.30. Had to cancel order and go to Guisborough.

Typical Witherspoon's pub, breakfasts are very good all other food is average.

Just had breakfast there. Hardly anyone in apart from a few locals Food and drink easy to order on app. Breakfast was ok just could have been a bit hotter Breakfast itself not expensive but not cheapest I've seen. But was perfectly fine. No problems going back there

Havent visited since covid but went there on saturday 06/07/24 only to find a real positive change.Theres a great team there at the minute inspired by Marion and Emma.Well done everyone keep up the good work.

Called into The Plimsoll Line in Redcar Town for a well earned drink and food after the bracing wind of the North Sea.

What rude customer service, with a lady behind the bar . I asked for my ice to be removed out off the Pepsi, she took it out and gave me a glass half full. Because it had been full of ice. Any normal member of staff would of topped it up. Obviously need customer service skills here!!!

Nice pub, fair prices, lovely atmosphere, attentive staff, you can't beat a Wetherspoons, didn't eat

Having had an excellent breakfast earlier that decided to return for lunch. My husband had the manager’s special of steak and kidney pudding which he professed to be delicious but unfortunately my skinny chicken was rubbery and inedible. It was quickly exchanged for a buttermilk chicken was was tasty.

Onion rings were bit burnt but everything else was very nice! Our server was so nice as well

I am a 70 year old lady, myself and my friend went to the Plimsoll line for drinks, while waiting to be served, I male customer got served as soon as he got to the bar, I ask the female staff why she was not serving people in turn , she said she thought i was with the the male. Before I said anything else,a male staff member spoke to me he was rude and aggressive I said please don't speak to me like that, his response was, well don't give her S**t then. I have never been spoken to like that anywhere, I was really shocked to say the least. This all took place in front of other customers. I wonder if he would have spoken to a male customer the way he spoke to me.

Beautiful breakfast ,perfectly cooked ,quick service. Pub was clean and tidy and not too busy Friendly staff Will certainly return again

I am very disgusted with this place with the disabled toilet I came for tea with a young lad and he wanted the toilet 🚻 and he a wheelchair users and the only toilet downstairs and it was out of order so I gose and ask the staff who an via me to use the toilet upstairs when clearly I've said the young lad is in a wheelchair and need the bathroom and they had no clue what was up with it so I asked who the manager and I completed to her about and she turned round and said it been blocked since Sunday 26 the may 2024 and today is Wednesday 29 May 2024 and still waiting on a engineer to come and fix it unacceptable to be honest I am angry and had ti find another toilet to take him to

Drinks fine but food. We went today Tuesday as steak day. Ordered 2 sirloins which were tough. I had salad which was fine and onion rings..mum had the mash which she said looked and tasted like instant mash. She left most of hers. I had sticky toffee pudding which was fine except wasn't very hot. Shame as a quite like the pub the staff are good and friendly..good selection of drinks..

Always a good place to have a catch up with friends and a cheap quick meal. The 2 jugs of cocktails for 14 pounds is always a crowd pleaser, food always done quickly and is fine/okay food, everyone is already aware the majority of it is frozen anyway so you know what you're getting when you walk through the door but it is always a go to because it is what it says on the tin. 👌

Great busy spoons as usual,ìts busy from 8am if you fancy breakfast, it is good value for money, good selection of beers and wines, staff all very friendly, couple of hundred yards from the sea front too.

Busy lively pub. Packed with people in most days. The service is spot on. We know most of the hard working bar staff now. Love The Plimsoll Line. Our local. Sometimes you get small kids zooming up and down, racing around the whole pub, getting under the feet of poor staff trying to avoid them with hot food orders - gets on your nerves - need a no kids rule in the bar area at least. Food is always hot, tasty, great value. Easy to order from the app too. Curry night is excellent! This is a really good wetherspoons. We love it.

We visited this lovely Wetherspoons pub on a Sunday morning and enjoyed a lovely breakfast. The staff were very welcoming and we were served promptly. The food was delicious and piping hot. There was plenty of seating available and the pub was very clean and well maintained.

Bryce is the best spoons worker we have ever met, normally they’re miserable but Bryce brings the vibes. He’s so sound and he looked for straws for us

Standard "SPOONS" Cheap and dependable. Be better with a bit of background music, and before anyone says that's how they keep the prices down, I don't believe the music license doubles the price of a pint.

As far as weatherspoons goes, this one is a good one for food and Guinness

When you visit different Weatherspoons you have different quality of food. The Plimsoll Line gives you high quality food and I consider it to be the best Weatherspoon pub I have visited so far. Their medium rare steak is really medium rare and is from BBQ not pan. As always great selection of drinks at affordable prices. Nice and clean interiors with lovely beer garden makes this place friendly and popular.

Awesome. Took family (7) of us, all served at the same time?, that dosnt happen often. Ice-cream was Lush well done all.

First time visit, quite a big place quite busy too. Ordered a pint of Abbott, sat at a table and took a sip, seemed rather flat. I enquired about it and the tweaked the gas and poured a fresh pint. Good service, not tried the food here so can judge that

Typical Spoons pub. If you like them, you'll like this one. A bit threadbare here and there. Why are the loos always upstairs? I like to order from the table, via the app. No faffing about. WiFi is rubbish, though.

Best food and drink we'll cheap aswell

I had a breakfast. Most of it was OK but the bacon was a bit on the thin side and I'd rather have black pudding than hash browns. Tetley tea was OK and refillable.

Had breakfast here was nice good coffee. Surprised the app does not work here

Value food was very good, small fish and chips, chicken tikka and good price

Didn't have my usual beef madras so got mixed grill,mash was crispy solid,steak too peppered and tough,had to send lamb chop back as was raw.

Bacon sandwich said it comes with bloomer bread but was clearly cheap white sliced.bacon butties in the past use to come in a nice fresh bun so don't know what's changed.

Only had a swift pint with a visiting colleague, but seems pleasant enough. I think however this one may be due for a refurbishment. On a recent Saturday it was pretty busy, but the service was quick.

Arrived at Redcar wetherspoons with my wife and 16 year old son at about 19:40. Managed to find a table which a member of staff was just cleaning. Just about to sit down at table when the member of staff asked of the age of my son. He then explained under 18s are not allowed in pub after 8 pm even if they were eating.

It was a great place. We sat outside where smoking and vaping was not permitted. It wasn't policed so folks did. Super venue though. Staff were superb.

No music but just depends on what you want, does a couple of prize competitions on a Fri/sat.has a beer garden wheelchair accessible from the front. It seems a popular venue. Unfortunately prices have gone up so what do you want still ok to me. Prices have gone up but it,s happening everywhere.still the same people go in but I like the place.

Great, went for breakfast with my partner and children before heading to Redcar seafront.

Absolutely disgraceful. Bought a beer and left it on table for 2 minutes. Came back and it's gone. I walked over to doorman and asked if he had seen anything. Straight away he went to the table and picked up the empty glass that had been spilt over the table, seat and floor. He saw it all happen and still allowed the idiot to walk out of the pub. Will now boycott Redcar JDW for at least two months. I'm usually in every day but not now. Doormen are disgraceful

Table service was fast and alway accurate. The pub had an overall great atmosphere.

Pretty good for a Spoons- even offered an ice bucket for the white wine!

Cheap food, coffee unlimited but a little weak. It was cold and could do with a good clean to be honest.
