My husband and I were staying in Loftus for a few days and lucky for us, we discovered this beautiful cake shop! We sat inside and had a cream scone each and they were delicious! We brought home 2 slices of Corned beef pie and 2 Boozy Buns which did not disappoint! This cake shop is definitely worth visiting when you're in the vacinity!

We are a retired couple in our 60s and have just spent a week in a lovely holiday flat in the village of Loftus. Earlier in the week we spotted the Willow Cake Shop, took careful note of the opening hours, and promised ourselves a visit on our last afternoon. It was a beautiful sunny day. We planned to go for a walk (the Loftus Heritage Town Trail, as recommended in our accommodation information pack) then call in at the cake shop. The walk was very enjoyable on such a fine, warm afternoon. It took us one and a half hours to complete. We arrived at the cafe at 2.30pm, allowing ample time for a coffee and cake before the closing time of 4pm. There are 4 tables in the garden and one inside. 3 of the 4 outside tables had 'reserved' notices on them, but there were no customers at all, either in or outside. We were met by an unsmiling lady staff member. Upon our enquiry, May we sit outside?, she replied no, all the tables are reserved by a very large walking party. No offer was made to serve us or seat us anywhere else. We asked, When are they due?, and she said Anytime now!, and also added 'I haven't got much left, I've had a busy morning'. (We had already seen that there were at least a dozen cakes in the cabinet, including scones, which we'd particularly fancied!) Again, no offer was made to seat us or serve us. We decided to leave as we felt uncomfortable/unwelcome. As we left, she said 'There will be more stuff in tomorrow. ' We drove past the cafe at 2.50pm and it was still empty..... A footnote : we are of clean, tidy appearance, neatly dressed, and were completely polite. And completely taken aback! Had we not spent a week here and been treated with welcoming friendliness by locals, shopkeepers, hoteliers etc., this would have given us a lasting and damaging impression of the village.

It’s always been there, and now they have a great range of ice creams and the outside of the shop is invitingly clean.

Asked for bacon sandwich. Bought as a takeout, was handed over all wrapped up and in a bag. This is what I opened when I got home. Neither looked or smelled like bacon. Green tinged. Went straight in
