It's a Nero. You know what to expect. Staff are fantastic.

The place is old and dirty. The coffee is dispensed into filthy shot glasses that are never cleaned . The queen was long and many coffees dispensed but Zero cleaning took place. Only a trainee serving both fully trained hovering the dishwasher not helping or even cleaning tables- very tiered surroundings- walls pealing around windows - tables overflowing with dirty cups and plates.

Outstanding little place. Staff are attentive, friendly & approachable. Seasonal drinks menu, bringing something different to try each time, personally my favourite so far was the amerretto latte. Definitely a returning customer and they're dog friendly, even bigger winner for me.

A highlight of our budget weekend away. Possibly the best breakfast I've had. Lovely surroundings and great view from the outdoor seating. Staff were superb and very attentive.

Coffee and toastie very good as always but the Manager really must do something about the toilets in this place which are in a shocking state. Don’t take my word for it just take a look for yourselves

Baristas are quite helpful and accommodating and an asset to the branch. I still get my fave caramelatte despite it not being on the menu anymore. Much better coffee than other high street coffee shops.

I spend a lot of time in the Guisborough Caffe Nero.. I work in music production and find the environment conducive to just sitting, relaxing and listening to potential clients and reviewing my own work.. The staff are always very friendly and the coffee is great. However the tea is not good.. very poor Earl Grey.. You need a new company to supply a tea with the equivalent of the coffee

I like Caffè Nero - much better than Costa- but I do wish the staff would listen to my order and give me what I want.Today I ordered an Americano and a hot chocolate to take out. I got the hot chocolate and a latte! Now I will drink a latte but it isn’t what I ordered. If this was a one off I would not be writing this review but , between them, Guisborough and Middlesbrough shops have done this (or similar) four times. Whilst it is nice for the staff to be chatty, polite and pleasant, they need to concentrate less on discussing their lives, work issues, and dog training and more on their customer orders.

Although it’s only two or three months since I last reviewed this branch of Cafe Nero, I thought it only fair to review it again. The last time we were here I thought that the place looked untidy and generally unkempt, but the difference this time is huge. Everywhere was neat and tidy and the place looked spick and span. Service was also on the ball and we were greeted both on arrival and departure, and had very good service in between. There was such an improvement that it almost felt like a different place - and there was no sign of the dreaded supermarket trolly!

I always enjoy coming here. The staff are always friendly and the coffe is excellent. The actual shop is a nice place to go as well, and it's quite airy. Highly recommended.

With Cafe Nero you pretty much always get the same standards as far as coffees, food etc are concerned. That was the case here and we enjoyed our sandwiches and coffee. Service was quick and friendly. So why a distinctly average mark? Quite simply the cafe seemed rather unkempt, with cardboard boxes seemingly being stored on the floor and a general decor that seemed distinctly tired. And a rather strange thing that irked me was seeing the staff wheel a supermarket trolly through the cafe in order to replenish milk supplies behind the counter. Now it may be that Cafe Nero now have a trolley rental deal with Morrison’s or whoever - but I doubt it, which would lay the cafe and company open to suggestions that said trolley had been purloined or, at best, borrowed without permission. Not a good look.

Love this cafe and visit often. Yesterday morning was very busy and dole member of staff worked extremely efficiently yet agree with previous review. Lack of adequate staffing levels meant hygiene suffered.

Nice coffee, lovely staff, however concerned that the tables are not wiped, cleaned or disinfected , after each customer. ..,.... or in fact at any time over a two hour period. This surely cannot be right in these times. There was only one member of staff in the shop and she was super busy, absolutely could not have time to do any more, so definitely not her fault.

I regularly visit this coffee shop and I can say for sure I’ve never once had a bad experience. The reviews really do not do this place justice. The shop itself is clean and tidy. The atmosphere is always welcoming and friendly and as soon as you step foot in the door you’re greeted with a smile. It’s never too busy or over crowded so makes a great place for a relaxed and casual coffee outing. The staff are lovely, incredibly chatty and are all a real credit to the company. They are knowledgeable about (from my experience) dairy alternatives and are able to offer an excellent service, which always makes the experience a whole lot more smoother. Thanks a bunch!! :) 100% recommend.

I read the reviews on tripadvisor and was pleasantly suprised when i called here for a coffee... the cafe was clean and tidy the coffees were the usual standard and the food was lovely the staff more importantly were very helpful and knowledgeable

Absolutely disgusting, place itself smelt, the floors were thick with dust and the overall building was just grimey. Coffee wasn't nice either also found a hair in the cream in my coffee. Staff didnt seem to know what they even sold and lacked any sort of energy. Really disappointed.

I normally use independent cafes so only came in as on a Bank Hol Monday everywhere indie was closed. Having not frequented the cafe for a good while I was really disappointed with the visit. Primarily it was the general state of the place that I was shocked at - the servers were using a shopping trolley and filling it with bags of rubbish the whole time we were there - just not what I came to look at on my day off - there’s lots of damage to the place that needs looking at and the furniture and tables were dirty - chairs clearly not having been cleaned for some while. Tables remained uncleared even though the place was quite quiet and staff were chatting ... all in all you need to up your game Caffè Nero. Will stick to indies and probably will just go to the pub if the cafes are shut in future

Cafe Nero is my coffee shop of choice as it is the only place I can guarantee a decaf coffee that tastes of coffee, and is a success every time. So many places give the impression that decaf is for people who don't want a nice drink; what about those of us who can't have caffeine for medical reasons? But Nero always comes up trumps. The sandwiches and cakes are pretty good, too!

This was perfectly clean, pleasant premises but, when we politely asked why our coffees were on the cool side of tepid, we were told they were made with water from a tap which could not be hotter for health & safety reasons. having convinced the assistant that actually, we preferred our coffee hot, she replaced them. However, when we settled down to enjoy them (they were fine) we were a bit disturbed to see looming over us, a large print of a playing-card spread! As there are several betting shops nearby, I am just wondering whether this is a good message to be sending to a young clientele?

Lovely coffee and staff to match. Central location. Normally by preference I try to support the independents - this happens to be convenient for me when in the rain!!!

Must admit I always went to Nero's until Costa took over the world, well most high streets. Why did I change cos friends did really cos I always preferred Nero coffee. With Costa closed they got our take out from Nero's, my first flat white from there and it was good, no need for the extra shot I have to pay for in Costa

A handy spot to stop and recharge in the course of our journey. Friendly service and plenty of space to sit and relax. Their coffee is, as ever, excellent, though I would still prefer a lower wider cup rather than a mug. Still thoroughly enjoyable, which must mean the drink was truly excellent!

Hard to really praise a Chain Coffee Shop but we can say it was nice and warm on a very cold day. I will use it again as its conveniently located in Westgate.

Been in to this Caffe Nero store and the staff are friendly and the atmosphere of the store is that it is clean and the staff make sure that there keep on top of cleaning up the tables as well as serving customers. The staff in the is store are freindly. Service in this store is good and quick. I call in here when I am in Guisborough and it good cafe to visit and the staff like to chat with there regular or non regular customers at least there say goodbye after you leave the store to show that there a thankful for there service.

Good place to pop in for a relaxing coffee. The staff are very pleasant and efficient. There is plenty of space to sit comfortably. I had a delicious, refreshing Iced Coffee on a hot day. This was served very promptly. I will be returning.

Recently discovered we can take our dogs into our local Caffe Nero and they are made really welcome. The staff are so friendly and it's a great place to relax, read and enjoy a cuppa.

Yes I know it's a chain but they are sometimes very different depending on the staff. The Gainsborough cafe is blessed with friendly, welcoming staff and well worth a visit.

This is a great place to eat and it was very affordable. It also had a very all round menu and was a relaxing place to enjoy a meal.

This is a lovely place, local to where I live, so I visit here at least 3 or 4 times a week. The coffee is always done really well, it's lovely and strong coffee and even the decaf it! The staff are very friendly, will carry trays of coffee and food to your table without you asking, which is helpful when you are nervous carrying a number of drinks. Lots of tables in here, plus, free wifi so you can relax and catch up on your social mediaWould recommend completely

I regularly buy drinks to take away and will continue to do so but since I discovered it's dog friendly I'm more likely to visit. A good selection of drinks and desserts (I know that's not a big surprise for a coffee shop!) The staff are really friendly, helpful and efficient. I always enjoy the complimentary water and today I hit lucky as it was iced! :)

Nothing out of the ordinary, it's a chain after all. Some great staff, some grumpy ones. Frozen cakes and average coffee. I prefer Costa in Guisborough every time.There's no atmosphere here, whereas Costa staff make their place buzz.

I often call in for a coffee in this establishment and always find it extremely friendly and clean. The coffee and food is fab! The staff are exceptional! I call in with friends as well as popping in on my own for a coffee. It is a place you can feel comfortable with been on your own.

We frequently drop in for coffee and sometimes cake as we love the products on offer. Coffee is always good. Staff are generally very friendly and very welcoming but , oh dear! the state of the place is getting to me and we are beginning to hesitate about going in. Too often tables are not cleared and the floor is grubby and littered with crumbs, dropped food etc and overall it feels shabby and uncared for. This is a shame as it was always a nice place to sit and relax and enjoy good coffee.I am hoping this is just a "blip" and that it will improve.

We go to cafe Nero regularly -it's a great cafe with really friendly staff who remember your order. It's a lovely place to chill out and enjoy a coffee - the almond croissants are delicious!

My husband had gone here while I was shopping and when I met up with him he was just being served by a really friedly and happy lady with blond hair. It was nice to be served by someone who was enjoying serving her customers and who seemed generally happy.

Chain coffee shops don't all have to be the same. They look the same, and they sell the same stuff - consistency can be good - but I find the hustle and bustle of most chain coffee shops a bit much. The Guisborough Caffe Nero seems to do things differently. I always feel more chilled and relaxed there. I feel like I can take my time and enjoy the atmosphere, whether with friends or more likely on my own. The staff are friendly, chatty, and attentive. It's my cosy alternative front room where I can people watch, catch up with email and drink good coffee.
