Attended a lovely fundraiser from Nepal at The Cleveland Bay yesterday!! Loads of bargains, great Tombola and Homemade Cake stalls, and lovely games for all the kids!! 😊

although this is my local i have been impressed as to how they have coped during the opening after lockdown. they adhered to the rules and worked extremely hard to make sure customers were served promptly. i have visited on a few occasions, for just drinks and also for food. the service is excellent and the food is fantastic. home made chunky chips and large parmos ... each time ive been i have had to take half home !!

We have been here several times at this time of year and have always found it to be very accommodating and in the main friendly service, however on this occasion the landlady was abrupt and rude and after this last year of lockdown and the service industry being badly hit I would have thought that the service would have been better to say we were bitterly disappointed is an understatement the landlady’s attitude was that of indifference and frustration at having to serve yes it was busy due to warm weather but also if that’s the case a little patience goes a long way as does giving your customers the respect they deserve as they are putting money into your till this will be reflected not only on here but also by word of mouth this lady should come with a warning as to be told to hurry up and give me your order we’re busy is in my mind unforgivable!!!!

Food was nice. Place seemed understaffed took 20 mins to get shown to a table had to wait outside for someone to come out and 40 mins for food to come. I don't mind waiting if busy, but only a few people in there when we visited. Would visit again once Covid is over as the rules they have in place are over the top compared to other pubs I have visited.

Beautiful Sunday dinner. Roast pork served piping hot as soon as we sat down (phoned to order roast pork earlier). Delicious! Friendly landlord, landlady and staff. We will be back!

Called in with my brother and his wife for some food. All four of us ordered the Parmos, two standard for the wife and I and two hotshots for my brother and his wife. None of us finished them. Juicy chicken, just the right amount of bechamel and a mix of cheese on top. Served with hand cut chips, salad and garlic sauce. Exceptional quality!!!I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a parmo. Of course other meals are available.

As our local pub, the Bay provides an excellent venue for various events. The staff are very welcoming. A warm and friendly ambience. Russ and Sarah always go that extra mile to give a quality customer service. We'll be back.

I always visit here every year on my return from Turkey. Always a friendly welcome from the staff. Nice lively atmosphere with good selection of beers. Very good football coverage on several different screens.Nice place to visit for a drink and The external Christmas lights, decorations were outstanding and inside was very good too. We'll done.

Our manager requested we book some where for the people we support as a treat and a change from the norm. We chose the Cleveland bay as we had read lots of great reviews also it was the choice of our people.The option to order our food in advance ready for when we arrived we thought was a great idea.From the moment we arrived every single member of the staff team went over and above expectations.The food menu is fantastic with choice of portions, great value for money and really was delicious, clean plates all round.This venue is a real hidden gem and a credit to our area.

Usually go here quite regularly for a beer and the monthly folk club but went for lunch with a friend. As usual the staff were helpful and friendly as well. I had the pork Parmesan with home made chips and salad which was excellent. My friend had the fish and chips which was also very good. The pub is back to it’s best and is a great community pub

A flying family visit from Oz saw us reunited for the first time in 18 years. With little time to cook a Sunday roast at home, too busy talking, we descended upon the Cleveland Bay. What a remarkable hostelry, English Beer that energised even more conversation followed by roast beef or lamb for several of us, even 3 vegetarian meals. The children were well-fed with energetic smiles and enthusiasm. Then there was the quality, quantity and tremendous value for money. Highly recommended, busy well-staffed and accessible by road and railway.

Best place in Redcar for a little lunch and quality time with my mother... Staff very friendly and efficient all the way to the Management.. Highly recommended..

Meat was nice, potato was really lumpy and the veg was really watery. Sent the first plate back because their was that much water on the plate. No water on the second plate but very bland

It's like something out of the league of gentleman. Rude staff also. I know your stuck in Redcar and don't like it but don't take it out on punters just move away and better yourself. Could do with a new pool table and cues and the prices are shocking!

Came in for family meal last night there was 17 of us and we pre ordered. The service was great all food came out together staff very attentive and they took care of the cake arrangements as we were there for a birthday. We left a tip - staff followed us out thinking we had over paid but we wanted to thank them for the service. If you want somewhere local to eat reactively cheap and cheerful I would highly recommend the Cleveland Bay

Meant to be a family pub, big playground outside. Grumpy lady wouldn't let my 6 year old sit on a bar stool (supervised by me) to order her drink. After ordering kids drink and crisps (£2), was told I couldn't pay by card or contactless as it was under a fiver

I have just moved to Redcar from Essex and thought I would give my local a try. The food was ok but a member of staff needs to learn how to speak to customers. I was with my Son and Grandson who is 18 months old. He was tapping the buttons on the machine and instead of coming across to inform us this is not allowed she called across the bar . I understand there are rules and regulations but there is also a better way of informing customers what they are. I was sorry this happened as first impressions count.

I met up with school friends last night in our local pub, The Cleveland Bay. The atmosphere & warm welcome in the bar area was just right for us. The staff are always friendly & efficient. We enjoyed a substantial meal at very reasonable prices. Between drinks & eating we laughed for 3 hours about old times.

Great friendly pub. Good tasty food. You get a choice of large or small portions. Had a small roast dinner beautiful.

First time visited this pub - free parking - bit tatty inside but good service - ordered omlettes chips and peas and enjoyed - decent pint of lager all at a reasonable prices would visit again to try the parmo

had a few Parmos from here to take away they arnt cheap but you get what you pay for or so I thought ordered a parmo took it home as I was eating it found blue plastic in the chicken and sauce stopped eating it phoned them told to take it back which I did for the manager to tell me the only thing they use blue is gloves to serve the food and nothing else hello may it have been the blue glove bits in the food regardless please seek alternative pubs they are a lot of bubs in the area which are more friendly didn't even get a sorry shows you the management from this place do not use or at least check your food thoroughly

A reasonable British type pub behind Redcar East Station, its good location offers meals, etc, throughout the day from lunchtime. The staff were pleasant & friendly. Good choice of "light snacks" (toasties, jacket potatoes,etc) or more traditional pub meals, if required. Car park adjacent, but handy for train station. Nice clean toilets, which is always a bonus.

This is a great local and the food is quite good. Russ the landlord has done an excellent job improving the pub. His attitude towards customers still leaves a lot to be desired though.
