Great friendly staff and parmo was perfect. 10/10. My wife and I both got the half pepperoni parmo and it was delicious. Wife got hot chocolate fudge cake which was huge and very tasty. Great local pub.

Very disappointed paid 30 pound for 3 meals parmo was ok then got two dumplings mince meals came on a child sized plate all veg was cold one measley dumpling with Hardly any mince was terrible coffee came in a mug half full topped up with froth like warm.will never go back again Terrible waste of money came out hungry

It is a nice local family bar, great food and cold beer.

Disappointed had Chicken Parmesan was sick next day although reasonably priced quality wasn't good.They had no fresh chips had frozen ones instead. Had a cidar from the bar didnt taste nice was flat.

Just had the most amazing Christmas Dinner! A lovely welcome, with a glass of prosecco. Delicious prawn cocktail to start, carvery for mains, beautifully cooked veg, and lots of variety! Followed by Christmas pudding and brandy sauce. The atmosphere was great, staff were friendly and well organised. Thank you all for a lovely Christmas Dinner!! 🎄

Have been twice and both times the food was lovely... the staff very nice and friendly and service was quick. Between us we had mince & dumplings 5* parmo with extra toppings 4* mince pie 5* kids meal nuggets corn on cob n fries 5* all really good. Xxx

Honestly bar meals are nice. Sunday lunches are out this world. Tasty meat falls apart. STAF are lovely too.

Been today with AGE UK GUISBOROUGH GROUP. Excellent Monday carvery.Good food and value for £6-50.Other thinks on menu but can't comment on.There was about 20 in our group so the staff coped realy well.THANKS TO STAFF.Looking forward to our next visit.

The best meal we have had here ! Went on a Friday Evening, our food was great , the waiter was brilliant and really good to us. We were a group of 8 , with all very different plates and everything was spot on.

We have been several times and always yummy, they also understand what it's like to have children with you and very accommodating, only ever had Sunday lunch, but family members have been for parmo night and loved it.

Limited menu probably due to hot weather. So didn't get my usual excellent steak. Instead had a cheese onion wrap wt dry salad and chips and home made coalslaw which looked anemic. Not creamy at all .small cheese wrap and no onion as they had ran out .chips good .Nice if they had been chopped tomatoes and cucumber and a dressing on salad .should have gone mc donalds.

We have been here many times in the past even when it was the Huntsman. Not much post Covid but decided to try it again after our choir session in Guisborough 🎶😊 It's 2 meals for £10 which was great. I had chicken kebabs, homemade chips & salad with wraps 😋 Hubby had mince & dumplings & we weren't disappointed! Very tasty, friendly staff & would certainly go back again probably next Tuesday after choir! 😉 🤭X

Moved in round the corner a week ago and I feel blessed to have this place as my local. My fridge is on order and I have been eating here every other day. The food is amazing and you get a really warm welcome. Highly recommended!

First time here under the new name. Had previously visited when it was The Huntsman. Was as cosy & friendly as I remembered. We had the Sunday carvery which was really tasty & not overly expensive. Will be back 👍

Outstanding carvery today from the highcliff

We have been going here for quite a while now, because the daily specials were good value for money, not any more, i had lasagne which is no longer home made but must have been bought at aldi, it was dreadfull , tasteless, mush. and my wifes carrots must have been at least three days old, it was always good quality cooking but sadly not anymore , such a shame.

Visited for carvery - good value, friendly place. Nothing fancy about the venue, but can definitely recommend the food.

Had the 2 for £10 Tuesday meals (1 gammon and 1 half parmo). Both were great, cooked really nice with good portion size. Service was very pleasant and efficient. All in all great value for money - couldn't ask for much more!!

it was outstanding! I took my son Finn here and he loved it they had to give him a spoon because he cant eat from a fork. he had sausage and mash he loved it. i had a chickparmersan and it was lush they also asked me what shampoo I use which was the only strange think about them

Me & two friends went for dinner today & it was £3.99 each . We didn’t expect it to be up to much for price . It was gorgeous, home made chips & Parmo salad , garlic sauce . The staff couldn’t do enough for us . Huge portions & very tasty. Will be back again , thank you 😍

No carvery when we arrived, even though it states on the Web page, menu and their own pub wall that they do so, we ordered mince and dumplings. Worse food I've ever had in any pub or restaurant. Very poor quality and not worth the money

Tried calling no answer so decided to drop by at half 6 says it serves food till 8pm and they had closed the kitchen we tried messaging no reply but as we were having a drink as had to wait for taxi other people were being served food.

Good " home cooked" pub food. Everything is freshly cooked. Very good prices.

Cheap food that tastes nice. Very busy and made an exception for us with the dog to sit on the carpeted area so we could sit down. Although we could have gone without all the other customers gripes about it as our dogs first visit to a pub she sat well enough with no accidents. Staff were friendly so that made us feel better!

Sat outside at tea time with dad Terry and 4 dogs.. Enjoyed a lovely pint of black sheep.. I chatted to a lovely lady bar staff member who was friendly and chatty... We had a relaxing pint in the cold.. We chose to sit outside.. Dogs are welcome inside x

We've just had a family meal at The Highcliff and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was lovely and the prices were very reasonable. Lovely Cajun chicken... not that nasty rubbery chicken that most pubs seem to sell. The Parmo's were gorgeous too with a great choice of toppings. We'll be returning very soon

We popped in to see if we could use some ice as our baby had banged her lip at the park and ended up staying for dinner. The staff were lovely and extremely helpful. The food was very nice, especially for the surprisingly cheap price tag. The hot shot parmo was nicely spicy and the gravy for the pies was homemade and delicious! Kids portions were big and tasty too, so happy customers all around!! We will be back!

Went for lunch with my wife. I had the parmo. It was lush. The chips were fantastic. Really reasonably priced but the quality of the food was fab.

Was visiting Guisborough and everywhere had stopped serving food and just happened to call in here. Amazing food for the money and very friendly staff and regulars. Dog friendly and well worth a visit.

Honestly wasn't expecting much, I just wanted something edible fast, that wouldn't break the bank. He food was actually brilliant even though I only just managed to get my order in 20 minutes before the kitchen closed at 8. Real burger, real chips real salad as opposed to the usual sarcastic salad you often get in these places. Clean plate club over here. The dog was allowed in (only on the hard floors but that's fine, still plenty of space) and was well looked after with his own clean water bowl. Can't fault it. 10/10

During lockdown I had a few takeaways from here that was lovely so I decided to sit in for food last week. We went on the Parmo Wednesday (£4.99 for Parmos on this day). Service was good. Food was lovely, tasty and a large portion can’t fault it especially for the price. My toddler had the children’s portion of pizza and chips and it was a good size and she loves it! We will be back!

It's a funny old place The Highcliff. In the past year we've heard it all from them. At any given time you'll probably come across one of the weird scenarios below: No card payments, cash only - and you get directed to the nearest cashpoint round the corner. Almost all the draught pumps will be off. Hobson's choice. Take it or leave it. Or have a bottle or can... if they have any. Stop serving food by 7pm because no food left. Serve food at 6pm but half of the things you ask for they haven't got. The latest comical one - turn up at 6pm and be told the kitchen are "having a break for an hour or so" so no food available. Nothing adds up with the place. Maybe the manager hasn't got a clue. Maybe it's on its bones financially and organisationally, maybe it's a front for something else. Who knows. But it's certainly not a reliable pub by any stretch of the imagination. Maybe you'll get a meal or a pint, maybe not. Depends which way the wind's blowing.

Fantastic food and great service . A bit rowdy at the TV end of the pub . But football was on so can understand that .

Absolutely gorgeous Sunday dinner

Lovely little local pub with friendly staff. Child friendly as it has a small play area to the rear. Free available car park also to the rear. Sells food and a menu with a nice range of dishes. Large TV screens and a pool table. Also next to a range of convenience stores such as Sainsburys and has a large field to the rear which is great for kids and dog walking.

In beautiful surroundings this public house offers a reasonable sized seating area and children's playground. Inside boasts a beautiful layout and the finest food in the North East. And a range of beers and lagers and spirits

Had chicken parmo,chips n salad,homemade chunky chips the best I've ever had all for £3.99, unbelievable.

Visited again last Saturday and it's gone right downhill since my last visit in March. The menu has changed and now it's standard pub fare: scampi, chicken parmesan, burgers and the like. Half the menu options had run out by 6pm! Not tempted to go back.

Came in on Friday afternoon after hiking for a quick bite to eat. Great selection on the menu. Had a hotshot parmo with proper chunky chips and washed it down with lemon drizzle cake and custard. Really nice place during the day (can’t comment any other times as this is the first visit)

Nice and friendly staff, great for kids as there is a park, and the food was great too will defo be going back in the near future, only downfall was is was cash only as credit card machine was down only reason in my book I gave it a 4 star

We ordered some take away food for the 3 of us, a hotshot parmo, chicken kebab and a children's chicken nuggets and chips. The food was great, fantastic chips and great quality throughout. Ordered 2 milkshakes for dessert - also fantastic. Would highly recommend.

We went on a Saturday evening, my first visit since it changed from the Huntsman. What a pleasant surprise! My brother had the half chicken which satisfied his huge appetite and Mum had the rump steak which she said was cooked to perfection. I settled for the chicken enchilada and it was smashing! Soft tortilla stuffed with chicken on a spicy tomato sauce, topped with cheese and lashings of jalapenos. The staff were friendly and attentive. The only downside is that it is a family-centred pub so kids were running riot: a pity that parents do not realise that not everyone wants to be deafened by screaming children! But well done otherwise.

Only ever been for Sunday carverys and been the best we've tried by far

We visited on a Friday and took advantage of the Friday deal of either half a parmo a burger or a pizza with chips and a drink for £5.50. The place was p re etty quiet however I get the impression they were trying to recover from a busy lunch service as there was a sign up saying the kitchen was closed until 4pm and there w we e lots of tables with empty plates on. That didn't make any difference to the friendly service we received. There appeared to be one girl behind the bar an done guy running out food, both working like crazy. We ordered starters before our food which were fresh an dhot though if we had known the portion sizes may have ordered one between us. Fried halloumi and gorgeous crispy potato. Skins came out relatively quickly and tasted as gozod as they looked. The main courses were much better quality and value than we expected considering th e price. We would definitely visit again. The staff did a brilliant job both bar and food service!

Met family from guisborough and was impressed about this place. The service was slow but to be fair they were short staff, maybe needed an extra person on the carvery. Food was great though. Had all your favourites parsnips, turnip, sprouts, roasties, cauliflower cheese etc....

The food is very reasonably priced and the menu varied so there is something to suit all. The chips are not frozen tasteless ones but fresh hand cut. All the staff are very friendly and approachable

Went tonight for the Monday night carvery as been highly recommend by friends . All I can say is wow. Food cooked to perfection and plenty of choice of veg and the creamy leeks and the cauliflower cheese were amazing .the beef was so tender...

Me my partner daughter and grandson of 7 visited here on friday afternoon didn't expect much for 5.50 menu ...I was wrong Absolutely perfect..!! 2x parmo chips and salad and pint 1 x steak chips salad excellent ,chips perfect parmo perfect not too dry inside ..You know what I mean .. Young guy on duty very professional Staff excellent Thank you for the excellent experience on our first visit We will be returning to try the carvery
