The Yorkshire Lass in Redcar and Cleveland

My husband & I went into the establishment and sat at an empty table, which had no reserved sign on. At the bar my husband was told that they weren’t accepting any walk-ins as they had lots of reservations. There was no apology or even a kind look. We left.

Nice food and staff friendly and chirpy. Showing its age inside with a mismatch of furniture and seating but still an enjoyable place to sit.

Food is simple but good and reasonably priced. Staff always pleasant and polite

Friendly local, the new outside sheltered seating is a great place on a warm or even not so warm day.

Cracking little pub. Decent pints - food is outstanding and awesome value. Parmos are absolutely bang on.

Amazing atmosphere, great staff and delicious food. Went for tea before staying for the quiz. Had a fabulous time.

We go every Sunday for sunday roast. Its always lovely but my only complaint is the plates aren't warmed up. Therefore the food soon goes cold. Asking for more gravy does warm it up but it shouldn't be like that.

Very impressed with the new look. Pizza was awesome and you need to get the Beatles Unplugged back. Second time of seeing them. As a Beatles fan. I can confirm this duo are fantastic.

For a local pub, the food was exceptional and very reasonably priced. Plenty of draught beers to choose from, and a friendly atmosphere.

Always get a lovely warm welcome when we go ,the food is lovely and good menu to choose from .

I’d like to preface this by saying I’ve been to the Yorkshire Lass many times this year and will continue to do so. Today the establishment had an off day service wise which I will talk about here. All other of my many experiences have been top class which is why they deserve top marks still. We arrived for our booking and were told the beef was sold out and only gammon or chicken were available. Although not ideal and our first choice we went with ordering the gammon. Despite the fact it was an off peak spell for the establishment with spare tables aplenty… Service was not on the ball today. Knives/Forks pots were empty and not stocked up, neither were the supplementary sauces such as Mint. Empty plates were left for a while on tables before being collected. Despite this it took just over an hour to get our dinner out. Anyway, the waitress came to my table at the hour mark and asked if ours was a takeout order. I said no and became worried. Five minutes later the waitress returned with the food and announced they were chicken dinners and not gammon. I told the waitress we ordered gammon who then went to speak to the kitchen. When she returned she relayed the information that apparently we were told gammon was out of stock which was a complete and utter lie, it was only the beef that we were told was not available. Now, someone behind the counter has either made a mistake, the chef could have fancied the last few gammon slices for themselves or more likely they took so long to get the food backlog out that they overused the gammon originally available an hour prior. To me, this whole review would have been avoided if I wasn’t blatantly lied to my face. Admitting they’ve made a mistake I’m fine with, but please don’t put it on a customer who has done nothing wrong. We ended up eating the chicken dinner which was lovely quality at as always. I’m always fair with my assessments. I just write this today because the service can’t drop the ball again as I like this place and want it to succeed. Our tables were not the only ones with issues with orders so some of the service team / kitchen team of Sunday 3rd September need to up their game from here on out. Thank you for your time.

Ordered 4 takeaway meals, when we opened them there was no chicken, also Yorkshire pudding tasted weird, so the veg was over cooked and swimming in gravy. We did inform them and they brought a carton of chicken to us, however we ended up bining the dinners

What a fantastic place. So friendly and the food homemade and superb value for money. Highly recommended we have been a few times now and have had some awesome meals including mince n dumplings, parmos and today's Sunday dinner was soooo good with the meats so soft and tasty!

An exceptionally welcoming atmosphere and hearty meal. We stayed on the adjacent caravan facility which was convenient and comfortable.

We have just had a ball of a weekend and couldn't fault our stopover at The Yorkshire Lass!! Lovely service, community owned, clean, the best shower I've had in my life and spotless facilities! Will definitely be returning soon!! From, the T4's!

What a lovely place the staff we’re really friendly and helpful no sooner had we ordered then the meals arrived the plates were heaving (we ordered large next time regular)very tasty came to table later and asked if we wanted more gravy.we had rhubarb crumble with custard and sticky toffee pudding with ice cream

We booked a table and had a Sunday lunch beef Yorkshire puds mash roasties and a good selection of vegetables it was delicious the best lunch I’ve had in a long time. The staff are really nice and pleasant. We also enjoyed a sweet rhubarb crumble and sticky toffee pudding really enjoyed it. We will be returning🤗keep up the good work 🤗

Visited for the first time today for Sunday lunch. Absolutely gorgeous dinner and the desert was amazing massive portions of home cooked food. The staff really friendly. Will definitely be visiting again.

Nicely redecorated. New owners Great food with quite a good menu and pretty cheap. As a Pescatarian there was plenty of choice on the menu. Good selection of drinks and really friendly staff. Recommended.

Went for sunday lunch the food wasn't anything special it was made with instant mash potato the yorkshire pudding was still raw in the middle the cauliflower cheese was very bland and hardly any gravy but the staff were friendly enough and the toilets were clean..personally wouldnt go again to eat

Fabulous home cooked food I had the small parmo with lovely chips and nice salad and my husband had the breakfast both cooked to perfection will be returning next week

We had a family get togethor meal there today and the food was excellent, just as it has been the last couple of times we visited. We would definitely recommend trying it out.

Appeared to be a nice friendly and welcoming place. Good clean facilities.

Went for Sunday lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The place doesnt look much from outside but it turned out to be excellent. Was recommended by a friend. Sunday lunch for 2 adults, 2 children and 4 drinks £30 which is fantastic value. Mushy peas were excellent and large amount of chicken. Will go again!

Plenty of choice, nice and airy, spaced out throughout the venue. Friendly staff. The only criticism is that sometimes the veg is a little overcooked, however, its generally good, with a wide range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks available.

Lovely stop over in our camper. Clean tidy shower and toilet. View is of the coast and British steel. Fantastic gas flume when activated!

Spent 4 days on the touring site here again, nothing has changed in our opinion, still a great place to stay, friendly service, excellent service and food, will be back again in the future

Stayed hear with my friend in her caravan

A lovely pub with the most friendliest staff situated in a lovely place. The food here is immense and during the cov19 pandemic all rules have been followed to a T. A very good selection of soft and alcoholic drinks are served here. A great place if you have children too. Highly recommended by myself and other friends who I have the pleasure to visit this beautiful establishment with.

Very nice eating establishment. The carvery is a delight for Sunday lunch and represents great value for money. The selection of meat and or poultry is wonderful. The vegetables were not over cooked and the selection and preparation was fabulous I shall certainly call again. The staff are very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough to help. The atmosphere is very comfortable relaxed and welcoming. I'd have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to anyone. The parking is very good and convenient and is free.

'Yorkshire Lass' New Marske Sunday Roast Carvery is a real treat! The very hospitable Carolyn greeted us at the door for our reservation, introduced us to her staff, showed us to our table and explained how the carvery works. What a welcome! Beef, gammon, turkey, pork with crackling. Choose from at least ten or twelve different fresh vegetables dishes, yorkies, roasties and fluffy mash with lashings of piping hot gravy, sauces, gravy boat and cheerful, friendly, helpful staff on hand. Separate dining room where the carvery is served, but also family dining in the large bar. Nothing is too much trouble for the smiley staff here. It's a real pleasure and an absolute delight to find such a gem nestled away in the heart of this former miners' village. Sun 12-4pm.

Visited here for Sunday Lunch, it’s the first time in many years and I was very impressed with it. Lots of selection with the veg, never seen so much, and all fresh. If you haven’t already been it’s definitely worth a visit!

I come here pretty much every week with my nana for food. The staff are the most lovliest people I have ever met and they are willing to go above and beyond. They always make such a huge effort to come over and have a good chit chat with myself and my nana.

We sometimes pop in here for a quick drink on an evening or a weekend and even though we're not regulars we always find it quite friendly and relaxing.

Land lord is absolute tool. If Looks could kill the place would be empty and the door way would be full of bodies. If your not over 67 your simply not welcome. Food is average On a good day. I was barred for asking for a funeral service for the cheese toasty I ordered because it looked like it had been in coke ovens for the night An came cremated . For a village where people are all about the community he is not a very nice man Iv never herd any thing good been said about Alan although I do hears he likes to be called sir Alan or even Alan the great I also herd. I'll never go in there again I'd rather buy some cans An sit in the bus stop tbh

I would not recommend anyone to visit this site the landlord is extremely arrogant does not like children and is totally ignorant. This is not a place that I would suggest families would be welcome.

highly recommend the parmo! extremely nice staff, very welcoming especially the land lady. the outside area has had work done and is brilliant. nice area for children to play in!

I ordered lasagne, was very disappointed the mince was hardly recognisable, it was very stodgy and the chips were poor. I went to the bar for two large glasses of white wine and was charged £12.60. I was very disappointed as I was told the meals were lovely, I won't be going back.

We stay on the small caravan site 2-3 times a year for long weekends. Each of the 5 hard standings has its own electric hook up and water point. Shower/toilet room always clean.

Although the food was tasty, we had to wait almost an hour for it to be served in a virtually empty pub. When it did come, the waitress didn't smile or engage with us. She just said the dish & plonked it down. There was no interest in her whatsoever. The pub was freezing too. Not the best experience but would try again just to see if it's any better as I've heard good reports about it. Unfortunately, in my opinion, today was a let-down
