Had an enjoyable drink. However went to the gents and was not impressed. Locks of “what I told myself was just water” and broken fittings. Needs some TLC.

Get the drains sorted, the place stinks and the gents are a bit flooded. No cask beer. Nowt wrong with staff or service but please sort the basic stuff like fresh air.

Great staff, but I personally can't stand karaoke. I found the drunken woman using my chair to remain upright to be particularly annoying.

Really disappointing. SUNDAY lunch lukewarm if not cold when it eventually arrived...! Pork with no crackling. No gravy Yorkshire puddings enormous but must have been cooked at 10' o clock. Oh... . One small boat of gravy between five. Under staffed. Just get on with it and clear off attitude. Ran out of cheesecake at 1.30! Had a pear from a tin and a spoonful of ice-cream instead. £8.00!! Total disappointment. ""You been to the Kingshead...?" "Oh yes it was wonderful" Emperor with no clothes springs to mind! John Pajak.

The bar staff ( at the Kings head, Westgate, Guisborough) were drinking alcohol on shift as were the management, bar staff using foul language and not being pulled up about it, even the manageress was using the "f" word while working on shift totally disgusting will not be going there again

Amazing sunday dinners served here! First time here just stopped off after travelling from hols. Home cooked delight you choose a selection of meats,we chose lamb and chicken of which there was ample, selection of veg and the best gravy weve had away from home,£5.95 was a bargain. We were able to take our dog in the outside eating area too. Great food and great service.

We were passing this pub looking for somewhere to eat when a passerby stopped and recommended it. On that basis we went in for lunch. The prices of the lunches are very good and the portions large. However two of the four who had the chicken dinner didn't like the gravy that was all over every part of it. They said it had a curry taste. We were assured however that it did not contain curry. It would be better to serve the gravy in a separate jug so that it people don't like it they don't have to use it. My wife ended up leaving a lot of her meal as she could not stand the taste of the grave and it was over everything. The gammon was OK but a little over-cooked, although I don't mind well done meats. The real downside of the place is the toilets. My wife said that the one she used, the door was hanging off and they were not clean. The gents was not much better. The hand dryer had a sign on it saying it was out of order but they had not provided any paper towels, This place needs a revamp but with the exception of the gravy the food was good especially for the price. One word of warning, they don't take credit cards, just cash. I have based my score on the value of the food and drinks.

Popped in out of the rain and ordered cornbeef pie and veg, one with mash, one with chips. The meals were hot and arrived promptly. Portion sizes were very generous, we couldn't finish ours! I didn't like the taste of the gravy very much, but that's an individual thing. Good value for money but the tired interior let's this place down.

This pub looks fine and traditional from the outside, but I found it a bit "faded" inside. I was there late morning midweek and it was fairly busy. To be fair, I only wanted the toilet, but saw the breakfast on the menu and stopped for it. It was certainly not expensive and it was filling, although the quality was quite average. The staff were fine, as was the service. Coffee was ok.

Excellent meals when we dropped in, we looked up and down the high street and didn't want to eat at the spoons, so dropped on this one in the end. What a perfect set of meals and wonderfully friendly staff - place was really clean too. Will defo eat here again.

We stopped for dinner - a choice of roast meats were on offer for the Sunday roast. The plates were full, with a god portion of meat, plenty of variety of veg and of course in Yorkshire the pudding is an essential (wasn't to sure about the mushy peas but they actually worked quite well) Good price, nice atmosphere

Called to see what the upgrade was like and grab a quick bite. Was pleasantly surprised. The beer is good and the food whilst not haute cuisine is very acceptable and reasonably priced. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

We first went to the Kings Head one bank holiday, think it was an Easter Sunday, and looking for a traditional Sunday Lunch. All of the local well known eateries were all booked up so we popped into Guisborough looking for something, anything, to eat. Well, we found the King's Head pub and we are sooo glad we did. Didn't look too impressive from outside but we were told by friendly passers-by that they did good home cooked food. A friendly welcome from staff and in our opinion the best Sunday lunch we have eaten. Meal is plated not a carvery but our plate was packed full of a choice of meats. Lamb is to die for. All fresh vegetables and real yorkshires. Haven't tried dessert because the main is so substantial but they looked pretty impressive. And all very very reasonably priced. We have dined here a few times now mainly on a Sunday and have never been disappointed. Well done King's Head.

This was our first stop on a Guisborough pub crawl. The bar was partially full with what appeared regulars who, by the look of them spend way too much time in the Kings Head. The drinks were okay and the barmaid friendly enough. A pub can be measured (by me) in the condition of the toilets. Far from being the worst bar or toilets I've been in, I'll give the Kings Head a respectful side swerve.

Here for Sunday dinner. More staff than customers. Mushy peas on my dinner??? Paid £11 for one dinner and got 2 roasties. Waste of my money, effort and time.
