Stonehouse fish & chip shop in Redcar and Cleveland

Been coming here for a few years now and had no complaints. But the last twice we have called it was the worst fish and chips we have ever had . They had just fried some fresh chips but they were hard and scrappy . The fish or lack of fish was very rubbery and there was more chewy batter than fish . Will not be calling there for a while . Don’t know what has happened as we always recommend this fish shop .

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent fish and chips fully recommended definitely the best around.

Disappointing rip off Been using this place for a while and generally good quality But last Tuesday we had 4 fish and chips and they were all truly awful. Absolutely no excuse for this type of poor quality. Had the ownership changed? Not even convinced it was cod.

Best fish shop for miles. Fish fried to order so never cold and dryer up. I ring order in when I get there it's ready. Staff very friendly.

Called here on the way home after a busy day. Fish cooked fresh to order, lots of lovely scraps and myself and my daughters thought the curry sauce was gorgeous. You need to pay with cash, unless you take a receipt and pay by card in the pub next door.

been coming here for 18 years plus always cooked to order and not had anything but excellent fish ,chips lovely ,portion size outstanding and true value for money what more can you say no where better in east cleveland.

called one afternoon fish and chips very good only problem we had was such a large portion and so nice we ate the lot we will be back for more

Excellent fish & chip shop. The portions are huge and quite a good selection on the menu. Extremely reasonable price wise. Staff very friendly.
