Visited today for the first time, what a lovely piece of chocolate cake and a delicious bowl of soup, made very welcome, will certainly be back when next in the area

Dropped in after seeing the gorgeous gifts in the window, had the most amazing hot chocolate and cake!!! The gifts there are so individual, we bought a few different greetings cards and Christmas decorations…but could have spent hours looking at the many unusual gifts there. Will definitely be back again! The staff were so friendly, the store was cosy, with settees and low tables, perfect for hiding away with a hot chocolate.

Customize your Chicken Parmesan (a regional specialty) with a variety of toppings. Half a burger is enough for a normal appetite. Nice sports bar. Order at the bar, and the food is delivered to your table number.

Fantastic food all cooked and served fresh, there is a great choice and the staff are always friendly and happy Coffee is excellent too Eat here regularly and never been dissatisfied

The fish was delicious, I would have preferred golden coloured chips but that's just me. It was very popular and plenty of people queuing.We will go again for definite.

We booked a table for Sunday dinner, and knowing we were booking a later slot (due to toddler nap time) I specifically left a note regarding our party, and then confirmed our booking. On arrival it felt slightly chaotic and we were shown to an unset table (admittedly we were 10mins early) it took a while for our orders to be taken (we were never brought a menu and there wasn’t one on the table, so I took one from a neighbouring table) and it also took a long time for a highchair to arrive (again specified in the booking). I would happily have overlooked all of this - however, once our dinners arrived, it became obvious that they had pretty much run out of food. There was no cauliflower cheese, and no roast potatoes. We had to ask why these were missing to be told they’d run out. If we had been told when ordering I’d have understood. But to just hope we didn’t notice isn’t appropriate, especially when they’re a key part of a Sunday roast. We asked if we could have extra yorkshires instead but they didn’t have any of those either. They brought out some fried rosti as a way of excusing the lack, but only after we had asked why we were missing items and they came as we were all finishing. I could maybe understand this if we were walk in customers - but we had prebooked so surely weren’t a surprise… The roast here isn’t cheap and for significant parts to be missing, without explanation or any attempt to replace them left us all feeling deflated (and a little hungry…) there was no sincere apology, and nothing knocked of the bill (again not necessarily something I would expect but when you’re only served half of your dinner why should you pay full price?) Overall a very underwhelming experience and the only thing the waiting staff could say was ‘hopefully we will have it next time’ unfortunately I very much doubt there will be a next time.

Had a great Sunday lunch here, and super cheap. Fully served to your table. Tons of food on my plate: 4 roast meats, stuffing, roasties, huge yorkie, parsnip. And then came the sharer sides: cabbage, swede, mash, mushy peas, carrots, cauliflower cheese and gorgeous gravy. Apparently you could have more veg if you wanted.....we didn't want, we had way too much already, yum! Highly recommend

Fantastic breakfast with good quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. The staff are always friendly, attentive and make you feel welcome which is refreshing in this day and age. Have visited previously for meals also from coffee and cake so if you like quality cakes too then this is the place to visit. All in all highly recommended and excellent value for money.

La cafetería funciona de 10:00 a 3:00 pm y es atendido por voluntarios del pueblo y la zona de los alrededores. Yo me comí un sándwich, un bollo y una taza de té en un precio más que razonable. Comidas ligeras disponibles. Los aseos estaban limpias así como todo el lugar. Si querías un libro de segunda mano o un souvenir del centro todo ello contribuye a los fondos de caridad. Poor advertising of hot food availability times on the website meant we were unable to try the food here. Website says open to 3:00pm. No where does it say that hot food is not available after 2:00pm. We walked from Staithes to have lunch. We arrived at 2:15pm and were told no hot food available. Went to the Tiger Inn at the other end of the village where they serve hot food all afternoon. Please update your website so others aren’t disappointed.

Myy Grandson and I stopped at water wheel last Sunday for a carvery, my grandson got me out of the car put me into wheel chair a young lady promptly open the door grandson push me to a table for two one of the remove a chair 💺 out of way grandson 😀 pushed me to the. Table I then ask ask the chef 👨‍🍳 if he could laquadise the some of the vegetables he said no problem just pick out what you want l had everything except 😉 I think it was red cabbage I clear my plate and really enjoyed it. The chef was called Richard And the waitress was called Jackie. But all the staff were so very helpful and when we went to go the gent behind the held the door open. It's about 8 miles outside Whitby of the A174 on the right well sign posted. Turn right and it's about 1 mile on down on the right plenty of parking and a nice garden to sit in. Don't struggle to park in town and be forced to have fish a chips to share with the gulls, take drive and enjoy the carvery . THnk you GEORGE AND DAVID

On the road in the campervan. We needed something as our stopover had stopped serving. We had a ham & mushroom pizza with a donner kebab. It came with all the trimmings & we thoroughly enjoyed the food. We would recommend this takeaway got both for £12.50

What a lovely place, the food was amazing and plenty of choice. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had 3 courses each, and plenty of beer which was also very good. And the bill came to less than £120. We also stayed overnight in the motorhome, a very peaceful night it was. Highly recommended
