We have visited the Northumberland Arms twice in the last few days, and on each occasion, the food has been superb. The staff are friendly without being familiar and the food is served promptly with excellent presentation. I have to dig deep to find any negatives, the only - very minor - one being that I would have liked a fork as well as a spoon with which to eat dessert. Highly recommended.

Great service and delicious food. GF available on most dishes. I have know about this pub for years but never visited until it was recommended by a friend for an evening meal. We returned a week later with another friend.

Visited for lunch with friends. I had scampi & chips. The chips were hand cut and skin on but I found them luke warm & a bit soggy. The scampi was ok. It was served with a small salad of lettuce, small pieces of pepper, cucumber and chunky slices of carrot which were a bit out of place. Grated would have been better or small pieces to match the peppers etc. It looked like a bit of an after thought. I would return but I did find it a bit disappointing.

Yet another Sunday lunch adventure with the good lady friend and her dogs in tow, and the destination yet another TripAdvisor award winning venue that I’d been keen on visiting for a while now, the Delaval Arms, Seaton Sluice. Due to time-slot availability we had to settle for a later lunch booking at 1500, but all was good, I’d seen some positive reviews and photos, so my expectations were already pretty high for the Delaval Arms. A nice friendly greeting on entry and we were immediately shown to our table in what looked like the main bar area, but thankfully we were tucked away at the very back of the room in snug 3, I loved it, we had a cosy little corner out of the way to ourselves. I selected some Guinness 0% and a glass of red wine and ordered our mains in immediately (Unfortunately there were no starters on offer?) So a beef dinner for the lady and a trio of meats for myself. I ordered in extra vegetables, roasties and even some chips as we were both breakfast-lite and ravenous. Food came within good time, I’m not a particularly big fan of this centre of the plate stacking presentation trend but what came out of the kitchen did look great, pop on the extras that I ordered in and it looked like a lunch fit for a king. Both huge lunches were polished off in record time and we were both in agreement that it really was excellent, for once I had loads of roasties so I was very happy. We finished off by both having a second course with sticky toffee pudding desserts which were delicious, once again I’d eaten too much and was ready for a nap. The Delaval Arms itself, a nice venue, good ambiance, well lit, staff and service friendly enough and helpful, the food was genuinely excellent and competitively priced, so full marks awarded and that’s with my overlooking that there wasn’t any starters on offer, but the mains more than made up for it. I’m more than happy to go back, and I’d definitely recommend the Delaval Arms.

We visited in the evening on a Friday and after a short wait, were pleasantly served with large portions of haddock and chips with mushy peas. Th food was great. Thoroughly recommend but be prepar d for a short wait at peak times to get a table. Takeaways also available.

Menu very limited and our waitress was really unfriendly and rude. Poached eggs on sourdough were undercooked, resulting in upset tummies for us both. Will not return.

Italian style ice cream in many delicious flavours offered in the completely unexpected venue. The place shouldn't be missed during hot days at the Blyth beach. Plenty of free car parking space nearby.

Melton constable has a nice relaxed atmosphere and is our regular when visiting the area. The pub has a great menu and a good selection of ales. Bonus is that they welcome dogs our side of meal times, so a perfect spot after a walk with the dog in the dunes.
