Lovely place, lovely meal. Great staff

Staff very friendly. My grandchildren love the food here and the ice cream is always a winner. Quite popular so you may need to book. I can recommend the roast of the day the beef is amazing.

Warm welcome and good choices. Sat outside-lovely views. Nice spot to have a drink. Menu looked tempting-will eat there next time.

Today Len and I went to one of our favourite pubs to celebrate his birthday . As always fabulous honest food, Len wanted a prawn cocktail starter, not on the menu, the kitchen did not disappoint. We love this pub, nice real ales, alcohol free also catered for, but the best service ever by lovely friendly staff. We also enjoyed being very close to “The Ladies” that were up top with us, they were just having a fab time. Well Done from Helen and Len Bage 😃❤️👍

Excellent food, prawn sandwich (couldn't have got any more prawns into the open sandwich)), Marie Rose sauce seperate, along with coleslaw and lots of salad. Good value. Pint of Southwold bitter went down very well.

we called for sunday lunch but they where fully booked. thats a good sign of a good place to eat out

I've wanted to try this place for ages, so went for Sunday. It was very quiet ( about 3/4 pm) no problem finding a table. Husband went to order drinks/food but was told they were only taking bookings. Said we had a table can we not eat there? ....NO! Only bookings! The dinners looked very nice though. But book before you go!

Good beer, food and craiq. NEVER had bad meal

Excellent and reasonably priced as always. Beer always tip top. Specials beef hotpot is melt in the mouth. Braised beef and mince and dumplings also recommended.

Friendly staff. Specials on board and main menu separate. Varied menu with a gluten free section. A really good menu. Reasonably priced. Steak night Tuesday. Real Ales and Gins are a speciality. The conservatory is very popular but the main room is very pleasant too. It's always been a popular pub which speaks for itself!

We love the Melton Constable, this was our favorite pub while we were visiting family in the local area. Sunday lunch is great, but also loved visiting with the dogs on Monday nights. Fantastic staff, atmosphere, locals, food and drinks. Looking forward to visiting again!

Had the roast beef dinner lovely food only one thing it would of been even better with a homemade Yorkshire pudding that was the only let down

My husband has a small appetite and although not on their menu there was no problem when we asked for a small fish and chips. It was a sunny day and we sat outside lovely view and dog friendly.

Had a nice mid week roast dinner, nice but would be greatly enhanced by a home made Yorkshire pudding.

Love this pub especially on Sundays for its excellent Sunday lunch, good selection of beers and great staff.

We booked ahead and had to wait for table for few minutes, but once we sat down, it only took 5 minutes for food to arrive once ordered and was cooked to perfection 👌 and would definitely recommend to go to

Excellent ales, excellent food, what's noot to like. The conservatory is a bit sparse and they could use some felt pads on the chairs in there which make a god awful noise when scraped across the floor but the main areas are very well set out. Had the chicken burger, very nice, delicious onion rings and a coleslaw I actually enjoyed. Highly recommend.

Nice traditional pub, have called in a couple of times for drinks around 4 o'clock, plenty of parking, excellent selection of ales and food on offer. Staff pleasant, atmosphere nice and relaxed also dog friendly.

Went here today 4th Jan 2024 had braised steak with onion gravy 😋 vegetables. Braised steak so soft very nice and veg cooked lovely 😍 staff lovely and atmosphere good.will be returning very soon.

A lovely lunch in the conservatory, with views over the Sluice.

We always enjoy the food here. We in particular enjoy the chips. Tonight however, they were completely different. I gather they were cooked in their skins but were in general full of black marks and tasteless. I'm not sure if you are using a different method, or brand but bring back those double cooked crispy brown chips

Visited for the first time last week. Extensive and varied menu. Real Ale was outstanding. Great find and would highly recommend. Staff were very friendly too.

Great choice of classics, but for me as vegetarian too! The stuff is really friendly and elastic when you want to swap anything in your food, which is freshly made and delicious. Great conservatory with the river view is additional benefit We are coming often, and definitely will be back soon :)

This was once my local pub so whenever I'm back up that way I make sure I have a meal there! The atmosphere is great , the meals are super and the view from the conservatory is perfect. I can't wait until I'm there again .

Fantastic pub. Delicious food, I had crab cakes salad and chips from the specials board with alcohol free beer. Wonderful service. This is my now go to pub.

Great pub and food, unfortunately a group of drunk football fans came in and were very loud. An elderly gentleman politely asked them if they could be quieter as he couldn't have a conversation with his wife. They became argumentative so the couple left. I think the staff could have intervened.

Had food and drinks here 3 times during our holiday at Blyth. Excellent staff and service. Food great and reasonable priced. Thoroughly recommend it. Next holiday we plan to book a stayover.

First time here and could not have been more impressed. The staff were excellent friendly ,polite and helpful.Nothing was a problem .I had the beef pie with a puff pastry topping ,chips and salad. The beef inside the pie melted in my mouth and the gravy ,chips and salad were all scrumptious. My wife had the 8 ounce steak with new potatoes and said it was the best steak she had even for yours and was so tasty and melted in her mouth . This place is great and highly recommended and we will be back very soon . Very busy so you will need to book 😋😋😋😋😋

Classic British seaside pub. Obviously really popular as all the tables were booked out and it was just mid week. Older crowd in here, but the staff were friendly, the food looked nice. We'll definitely return for grub next time.

Sunday roast dissappointing, compared to food served in the week. When we booked the table for 7 people, we weren't advised that we needed to vacate it in an hour and a half . Took a while to serve food , so we were rushed to eat . Received several mean looks from the people who were taking the table after us. We only overran by 7 minutes.

It's been a long time since I have been in the Melton Constable and I was impressed with the food and service. It was lunch time so once other people had finished they left. I will go again as there was a good selection on the menu.

Popped in for tea , with my family , friendly staff , lovely little pub, home cooked pub grub ,had a gluten free menu with a fab choice even had deserts was lovely to have choices ,food was lush , thank you will visit again

Quaint, cozy pub with a good selection of delicious real ales and tasty food. Quite large portions, but some dishes also have smaller portions.

Popped in for lunch on the off chance they could take a party of 3 without a booking. The place was buzzing as per usual and we were offered an outdoor table. Order was taken shortly after we had been seated and our waitress came and told us there was a table vacant inside if we would prefer that, which we did. Meal was as expected, delicious. This place is a gem. Staff are friendly but unobtrusive, food always second to none and extremely good value for money. One of our favourite eating places.

Second visit here for lunch.. homemade cooked food the ham eggs and chips were amazing..very pleasant staff and overall nice atmosphere.. definitely will be back.

Had fabulous meal tonight. Met by delightful young lady who showed us to a table then brought us our menus. Great choice of gluten free food and the bonus of gluten free old speckled hen. My wife had ham with egg and pineapple while I had gluten free chicken with mushroom sauce served piping hot. Both absolutely delicious. A pub not to be missed in a great setting with great staff and management who care very much about their customers

Usually go for lunch, good portions, good price, sometimes have to wait when busy and best to book a table. Well worth a visit food is very good

Had a very tasty lunch and the ale on offer looked attractive. Unfortunately I was driving. Prices were reasonabe and the service was good. I liked the fact that you could get smaller portions of some main dishes. I'll definitely be returning.
