We have visited the Northumberland Arms twice in the last few days, and on each occasion, the food has been superb. The staff are friendly without being familiar and the food is served promptly with excellent presentation. I have to dig deep to find any negatives, the only - very minor - one being that I would have liked a fork as well as a spoon with which to eat dessert. Highly recommended.

10 Bondgate WithinPretty unimpressed with Yans chinese tonight. Between 4 of us for 1 main and 1 side each we were £50 deep - which is strong money for a chinese takeaway, so naturally I had high hopes for my tea. I had chicken in black bean sauce, which was watery and the chicken was rubbery and bland. I'd bet my left knacker that it was frozen and warmed up in a microwave. The chips were okay, and they certainly carried the meal tonight. The prawn crackers were delightful though, so 1 star for that.

1 - 3 Brewery LaneI celebrated my 70th with my family on news years eve. I was soo happy with everything from beginning to end. Food delicious staff were friendly and service was great. Loved it.
