Great Chinese food and plenty of it. Staff friendly and helpful even taught my granddaughter how to use chopsticks

Ordered takeaway recommended by my daughter and wasn't disappointed. Portions were huge and extremely tasty. Food wasn't greasy or stodgy as some have been from other takeaways.

Very nice meals we had tonight for a small birthday party. Good atmosphere, perfect food, and friendly staff. We all enjoyed it very much. This was our second time dined at Mandarin Bay which is a fantastic restaurant for special events. Highly recommended.

A good but not great Chinese restaurant. Probably 10 visits in the last three years. Not unlike a lot of pubs and restaurants prices here have risen sharply, particularly in the last year. Service good. Avoid the dim sum platter - very chewy.

Ordered food from here and ended up getting hairs in my food 🤢🤮 AVOID THIS PLACE. they were never help when we rang up they were not bothered at all.

My family and I visited Mandarin Bay on Sunday night. Unbeknownst to us there was an "all you can eat menu" available, which we chose. The starters were either self service or served directly from the kitchen. This meant the soups and crispy wantons from the kitchen were fresh and piping hot. There was a very good main course menu and the service was extremely efficient. I did find the black bean sauce was too salty and the lemon chicken was served with the sauce poured over the chicken instead of on the side but overall it was delicious. We will definitely be going there again.

Don't every go there for the buffet . U order one dish at a time and u can't order another until u eat it and the choice is chicken or pork very few dishes to chose from .whole point of a buffet is to try new things . The prices is bad .Best off going to my shanghai or Newcastle China town . Will never go back

Even though this place is further away than I usually travel for a meal, other members of the family wanted to try it (it's a lot closer for them). I've got to say I was really impressed by the welcome, the environment, decoration etc. but most of all The Meal. They had plenty of staff so we were very well attended to. There is a well lit decent sized car park literally 2 minutes walk away. Will definitely be visiting again

Had an early meal with our granddaughter on Thursday. Service was excellent from entering the restaurant to leaving. The food choice was good. Everything was well cooked and arrived very quickly. My granddaughter was asked if she wanted a plate instead of the bowl as she had ordered different small meals. Food was very tasty. Would definitely visit again.

Had a lovely meal. Very tasty food. Ate the lot. Enjoyed it. Especially the Salt and Pepper Mushrooms 😋

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Mandrin Bay. We had the banquet B meal, which was superb. The food wa delicious, and the service was attentive but not over powering. Excellent meal overall.

Takeaway is elite. It’s a little more expensive to get a takeaway here but it’s just miles ahead of everywhere else. The food is so fresh, great portions and it’s now our go to. If you haven’t tried a takeaway I would 100% recommend

Eight of us had a Chinese Banquet at the Mandarin Bay. The food was very plentiful but a little lacking in flavour - compared with other chinese restaurants we have been to. The service was very good.

Having not been here since before covid we booked to come to celebrate my birthday. 4 of us. We opted for the banquet £37.95 a head. We were disapointed.with most of it. The crab and sweetcorn soup was sent back for the lack of crab. They admitted this. The aromatic crispy duck tasted nice but nothing crispy about it. The salt and chilli prawns were nice. The main course apart from 1 dish was poor. Fatty pork. Prawn dish was mainly veg. Beef dish had 4 pieces of beef in it. For 4 people all dishes lacked meat . Not good value for money. The bill was just shy of £200. and didnt even get a candle in some ice cream tobsay happy birthday. All four of us agreed that we Left here very disapointed. The place was busy though .

This restaurant should be the number one in the whole of the UK. It's superb! The food was second to none, starters and mains were outstanding. The staff are so lovely, kind and considerate. They make the visit even more pleasant. Thank you so much for a truly wonderful evening!

Just had a takeaway from here, Thai green curry, chicken & king prawns, with boiled rice, just over £17 if they'd told me that on the phone, I'd have told them not to bother. Far to pricey.

Just popped in after the cinema. I keep forgetting about this place. Amazing food as always and reasonably priced for an early menu.

We had not had a Chinese meal for ages after being put off by some poor takeaways delivered. We collected our meal consisting of chilli salt and pepper spare ribs followed by Special Chow Mein and garlic mushrooms. It was superb. Far superior to anywhere else in the area.

Best in town. It's not the cheapest but lovely quality food.

We had starters and a shared main where you get four different dishes to share between two people. All of the dishes were very tasty. Attentive service. Overall, a nice evening.

Worst chow mein EVER. Got a special last night. Not sure what was in it but it wasn’t regular meat!!! Threw it in the bin. Never going back.

We have been going here since it opened, I must say it is going downhill, where we sat on Thursday the walls are filthy, you barely sit down and there is a bowl of prawn crackers on the table, the food is always rushed and you feel they want you in and out as quick as possible, on the plus side the food is always good, but the portions are becoming smaller and smaller, I don’t think we will bring back in a hurry, they need to sort issues out.

The food was very good and decent portions, tasted excellent and I am fussy about Chinese food. This is the second time I have visited and will be back.

Food was ok, but it was all served incredibly fast, barely finished a course and the next one was slammed down. Surroundings were a bit cramped with tables crammed in. Prefer to be a bit more relaxed and spend an hour and a half to two hours over a meal and a nice bottle of wine.

Food ok but not amazing. The chicken was not enjoyable, it had a weird taste to it. The food was no better than my local Chinese takeaway and was quite expensive. Wouldn’t return.

The four of us went spent 179 quid lovely food to fast the service! Your pounced on as soon as your just finished! I also asked for some curry to take home baring in mind we spent 179 pounds on meals they curry came they eve. Visited mandarin bay and the food was lovely as always. Only thing to note is the prices have gone up significantly. I was very shocked to find that the banquet that used to be £28, that went up to £29.95 in December is now £36.95. It’s an increase of almost £18 per couple. We had expected the portions to be the same but unfortunately we found them smaller than before. Just something to be aware of prior to your visit as the website still shows the previous prices. The food is still lovely so definitely will be back, but maybe not as often as before.

Excellent quality and tasty Chinese - we visited a few weeks back and were disappointed but wanted to give the restaurant a second try - absolutely fantastic food and team. We will definitely be back!

Really enjoyed my first time eating here. Highly recommend to others and will definatley be coming back. Excellent service and the food quality was brilliant. Had the Duck to start and Honey Chilli Chicken as a main. Both bursting with flavour and went down a treat. Partner enjoyed a house special stir-fry. Barely any wait between taking order and food getting served. Bang for bucks beats any Chinese Takeaway.

We went for the early bird special between 5 and 7, perfectly sized portions with no waste. Really enjoyable food in nice surroundings. Very busy when we went but nice atmosphere.

Great service, chicken and sweetcorn soup wasn't very nice. There was no flavours and no sweetcorn very gloopy. Chicken curry had big uncooked chunks of peppers in and had no flavour. Beef in Cantonese sauce wasn't nice. Sauce was lacking any nice flavour and beef had weird texture. Chips were nice, egg fried rice was like boiled rice. Very expensive

Nice place, friendly staff, unfortunately the meat was not good. Nice rice and noodles but meat was tough and gristley, big chunks of lamb don't cook well either. Then we were charged £30.00, 10% off the bill, for rice and noodles and a couple of drinks, I'd refuse to pay if it happened again.

Zero decent veg opinions. Ordered satay vegetables as that’s the best they got, basically vegetables in a salty, slimy dish water substance, no satay sauce in sight. Did not touch it. Waste of money. Will not be returning, Restaurant is NOT Suitable for vegetarians.

Friendly service and tasty food. Worth a visit

The food at Mandarin Bay is outstanding. My wife is allergic to MSG and the Bay doesn't use it in their food. The Salt and Pepper chips are to die for. The staff are supper friendly.

Came in without a booking, were given a table straight away and 1hour 30 mins for our meal which was more than enough time. Gorgeous, hot, filling and worth every penny. Definitely will be back whether for a meal or takeaway. Highly recommended.

Working up in lynemouth power station and staying cramlington and can quite safely say this isn’t far the best Chinese I have had . Service is amazing the staff are amazing and the food is out of this world.

The worst and most expensive Chinese we’ve ever experienced! I decided to try a takeaway as I was passing and my usual Chinese takeaway in Bedlington was closed. I had to order the dearest house special fried rice I have ever seen, at least £3 more expensive than anywhere else so I thought it had to very ‘special’ but unfortunately not! I received a huge portion of 97% egg fried rice, three king prawns, the smallest pieces of chicken and beef I have seen and a few slithers of spring onion. My son had lemon chicken which he did say was quite nice but he wasn’t keen on the rice, the spicy chips weren’t spicy and soggy, being served in a plastic container, finally the spring rolls were over cooked, practically burnt! I felt like we ate £10 worth of food and binned other £26. The only decent part was the service, the lady taking our order was very pleasant and cooked in the time mentioned but we will not be returning. I would recommend you stay clear!

Booked the 'all you can eat' banquet for a family birthday. Food was nice what there was of it. Banquet is 6.30 to 8.30, table service and stop orders after 8. Only managed a starter and one main course in the time available. Disappointing and not worth the £19.99 per head.

Takeaway food was very disappointing. Duck was very dry and came without any sauce with cold pancakes. Sweet and sour chicken was bland, and hong kong style chicken came just on its own without any vegetables or sauce and also tasted like a cardboard.
