The best restaurants in St Hilda Hartlepool North East

Used to come here all the time with my Mam before she sadly passed away 5 years ago , we used to come on a Saturday , since then to keep my Mams lovely memory alive i have been back on many occasions as this is not just a normal cafe it has a hidden secret - EXCEPTIONAL THAI FOOD , usually one dish a day and differs every day just look on the specials board , something like this is a hidden gem and the service is always fast and friendly , the owner wouldnt hold it against me if i said she was a bit loud lol but thats just her way - a very friendly soul and this place is very popular with locals and shopkeepers who order their Thai food as a Takeaway. I love Thai food at the best of time but to find a place that serves it at lunchtime is very very rare , and as i said the quality is superb , ive never been to Thailand but ive eaten in many posh Thai restaurants and the quality of food matches and beats all of them. Keep up the fantastic work to the owner and all your staff. See you soon.

Absolute gem of a place! The food is so incredible! Their “posh” chips are out of this world and their belly pork is stunning!! The smell of the fire fills the surrounding area (and smells great!) The guys absolutely beam with enthusiasm and pride and are so friendly! Quickly becoming a regular treat in our household and very lucky to have it in our area!

Pure chance we called in here during dog walk combined with pub crawl around headland. What a great surprise and find. Staff were absolutely brilliant friendly and amazing. We all ordered food which you know was cooked to order as it was fresher than fresh. The half cod and chips was ordered by two people and it was perfectly cooked with the most amazing home cut and fried chips (none of Yr skinny fries these were big proper chips). The batter on the fish was nicely crispy and not soggy. I ordered a parmo which was delicious came with chips and salad as it was so nice I devoured it like there was no tomorrow. One toasties was ordered and yet again was delicious. Finally a chicken fajita was brought out and so tasty it didn't last long. We all had drinks and all commented on how overall the service was great friendly and couldn't ask for more. All so competitively priced we will be returning Thank you all at the Victoria Arms

This is the best chippy in the area nice fish cooked in a lovely thin crispy batter nice tasty chips even the mushy peas are better than a lot iv tried called in on Friday and the had a special offer on small fish chips and peas £5.00 unbelievable value for really nice fish and chips it’s 8 miles away from my home and I pass at least 6 other fish and chip shops but it worth the trip credit where credit is due I can’t recommend this place enough this picture is the £5 special

A cosy fisherman's bar- very welcoming on a wild and wintry wander.

Wow what a place. Very well priced food and very good portion size and value for money. Been here loads for breakfast so decided to try lunch menu. Fish and Chips Steak and Ale Pie Baguette All of us loved our lunch and everything was spot on. Going to try the Parmo next time.

Went for the afternoon tea for my Mum’s birthday , 3 adults and my baby grandson. Afternoon tea poor , not even a full 2 slice sandwich each , a half size cheese and fruit scone , a tiny china cup with some crisps in between 3 of us and around 3 miniature frozen cakes. The sandwiches and scones were very nice I must add . No offers of refills for the tea and coffee, and the coffee was awful. Very disappointing, had afternoon teas in loads of places and this is one of the lowest I rank .

This is simply a brilliant pub for great food on the Headland. The staff always go out of their way to make you feel welcome and I'd recommend anyone visiting the Headland to try the food here. I visit regularly and the food is superb. They have a good menu and drink selection. Parmos, pies sundays lunches are excellent and the chips here are second to none.

A fantastic cafe situated at Hartlepool marina. As always the food is fresh, selection of drinks is brilliant and a very relaxing atmosphere to enjoy the company of others or on your own.

Lovely breakfast today at Biancos. Both of us ordered the easy breakfast. Great customer service as always. Special mention to Claire for making the best coffee I've had all week!
