The best restaurants in Weardale County Durham North East

Stopped here for a cuppa and a sandwich, tea was nice and hot. I like very strong tea and that's what I got. Sausage sandwich was lovely, fresh bread bun, nice sausages and plenty to fill the bun and a little more for good measure. Lots of local produce available to buy from sweets, biscuits, fresh eggs. I would recommend

This is a great little chip shop that I would recommend and very filling with leftovers for tea after. Very tasty really good and cheap

First visit tonight and certainly won't be our last. Fantastic burger and lovely staff, highly recommend. Good choice, fast and efficient service.

Had a great lunch here, Fishy Friday homecooked fish chips and peas all for a great value price of £9.95. Both had a dessert and a drink. Oh, my two dogs shared fish bites from the doggie menu. Great service from the very friendly staff. Definitely will return to this gem of a Pub.

Complete rip off . Asked fort 2 lime and soda waters. They were completely white . I asked if there was any lime in them , was looked straight in the eye and told “Yes” . I didn’t dare argue. Was made to feel uncomfortable for daring to ask . Was charged £3.60 .

Tried the pub out as just moved into Kingfisher park. Great pint of Guinness, biker and dog friendly. Locals hogged the jukebox and sang their head's off. Great atmosphere and a very tasty pizza to go. Yet to try the Sunday dinner,not be long. Highly recommend.

Ive wanted to eat here for a while as we drive past weekly to the secondary school. We booked a table for our anniversary and it was our first time visiting here. We were greeted when we walked inside and seated straight away. Our food came to the table around 10 minutes after ordering which was fab. My partner had the bolognese and garlic bread and i chose a pizza with a side of homemade chips. All food was thoroughly enjoyed and reasonably priced. The young girl serving was professional and polite as was the man behind the bar (maybe the owner but unsure). I couldn’t fault anything, it’s beautifully decorated inside and has car parking to the rear of the building. We would definitely return here.

Easy parking, great location, excellent cafe serving wholesome food, combined with a curiosity antique shop.

Have had tofu in green pepper and black bean sauce 3 times this month so far. It's consistently good and the only Chinese takeaway I will use. Nice pleasant staff and meals are reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend

Great welcome from friendly landlady. Lovely warm Fire, dog friendly and fantastic food. Can't fault it. Third visit and will be back to try the Rest of the Menu.

Lovely place , changed abit over the years we had coffees , a milk shake and cakes was lovely place to sit and chat with my family. It has to be said the lass that severed us was lovely and very friendly ! her name was ash 😊 Its a place to visit!

I was here with my family, 19 of us, to celebrate my 80th birthday with an afternoon tea. We pre-ordered and every one of us had a three tier cake stand full of sandwiches, cakes, scones, cream and strawberries, each one individually named. The place was opened just for us and was decorated with balloons and banners. They couldn't have done more for us. Absolutely AMAZING!

Great little farm shop and café with a curio/antique shop as well. Food is mainly quiche, pies etc but fresh sandwiches as well.

Booked a table for my wife and I to have a child free meal, food was beautiful good size portions and really flavoursome, we had a few drinks afterwards in the bar and was made to feel really welcome, will definitely be back and I suppose we'll have to fetch the kids 😏,thanks for a lovely evening see you soon.
