Only popped in for a pint while on the road. Tucked away in this quiet village it was nice eavesdropping on the locals banter while I was there. Very friendly and would call again while passing

Can't comment on food (the wood fired pizza sounded good) but we dropped in for a couple of late Saturday afternoon bevvies and the ale was well kept. Traditional pub, no music but friendly, the landlady knew her stuff and was happy to offer her opinion on the beers. Must come back here. Bonus points for the idyllic beer garden and cat!

Seems a nice little pub, I'm thinking the landlady has that directness they'd probably claim was undiagnosed autism now 😆 but all ads to the character. Nice cold refreshing local ale more importantly.

Great place and great informal atmosphere. Very welcoming staff and even a cat! Good selection of drinks for all tastes including low and zero alcohol options.

Didn’t get chance to try food my family & I entered the pub last Saturday night whilst on holiday with 3 well behaved dogs & told no more than 2 dogs allowed in the pub ! We walked out & didn’t go back in. !

Called in for the first time since moving into the area, all the correct precautions and procedures were in place following the recent government guidelines. Asked for a pint of cider and was shocked by the amount of choice and different kinds. The atmosphere was just about right with regards to a quiet relaxing drink. Ticks all the boxes

Not good, land lord was basically rude. Why be dog friendly then complain about dogs because of your cat? Wont be back and this is my first negative review ive ever made. Good manners cost nothing x

Landlady is an absolute rude disgrace, lacking in manners and basic human skills. Flat lager, a fire so warm most of the group were sweating. For a sector hit by covid regulations so harshly - this woman is doing herself no favours in a village with several closed pubs/club....carry on like this and she'll be joining them. Avoid. **Update: quite the theme of people having experienced the shocking attitude of the landlady. Toilets now unisex with anybody using the stall having a clear view of the urinal from the side - very worrying. A further recent 'forced' visit was met with the same attitude from the landlady who demands respect regardless of her actions and behaviour. Wont sell punters doubles, no strong named lager as does not want people getting drunk! Refusal to allow the group the use of the jukebox and no standing at the bar. This lady has a very well known poor reputation within the Dales and amongst the games nights teams, including her home teams!! Always happy to play the victim card when having behaved in a disgusting manner. Unless you are happy to be dictated to whilst trying to enjoy an overpriced pint, from where you should smoke, where you can sit, what you can order and what available facilities you are allowed to use - i'd go find a puddle outside on the street and have a few slurps, will be a far better experience. The Village will be a better place once this landlady has upped and offed, roll on! **

Lovely toilets.... Rather rude land lady... Made me look like an idiot looking for light switch for the toilet when there wasn't one!! The switch was behind the bar!! The kids Asked for change for the pool table, but they had none !! Also the darts and pool lights didn't get turned on till we were about to leave... It was the last pub we visited that evening and to be honest it's a nice place, just a shame we felt like we weren't wanted.....

Unfortunately this pub has the potential to Be a relaxing chill area, but The clueless staff and rude owners unfortunately let it massively down. Employing younger staff maybe the pubs downside? It also might be that the brunch is limited to 5 drinks and a tiny meal that is microwaved? happy to be proved wrong on a different visit, but I’d prefer the boathouse for value for money, taste and service skills. Happy for management to show me otherwise however feel that very doubtful unfortunately. Disappointed is the best description for this pub.

I've been a customer for two years. I've tolerated the gradual decline in service and quality of the food. Tonight's order was terrible. Nearly a 90 minute wait for my order, had to chase up over the phone. When it arrived, the order was inaccurate. Base of pizza was burnt, the topping was soggy. The chips weren't great and the doner meat was cold. I will never bother again. Which is a pity. They used to be decent here. I'm gutted to be honest.

Ordering food and drinks via the QR code was difficult due to technical difficulties but apart from that little hiccup everything was fine, the food was delicious and enjoyed by my family.
