Lovely bakers and coffee shop, Lattes were really good and the gluten free carrot cake was amazing. When you have coeliac you can’t always find somewhere that provides gluten free especially in small villages but I would definitely recommend Peggotty’s! We’ll be back.

Tucked around the corner from the market place Peggotys is a wonderful tea room and bakery, with its Charles Dickens inspired decor and spacious layout its a definite favourite of mine for breakfast lunch or tea! I do pop in here regularly as I am fortunate enough to have it on my doorstep but Gary, Susie and the girls are always there to greet you with a smile and a chat. The service is always swift and the food is home cooked and delicious (the poached eggs are a must!) but whether you’re out in Wolsingham for a three course meal or simply a coffee and catch up Peggotys is without a doubt the place to go.

A quick stop for somewhere to eat, we were happy to find this delightful tea room open on a Sunday. Don't be put off from the outside. Inside it is charming, clean and the staff nice and friendly. Pretty spotted tablecloths covered all the tables and gave a very homely feel to the tea room. What food we had, one of us had the cream of vegetable soup, with a lovely fresh brown roll and butter and one of us had a sausage and egg brown bap. Delicious. As with most tea rooms in this area, they all seem to serve Rington's tea. You cannot go wrong. The menu looked great and we would certainly go back and eat here again. The other goodies in the shop all look amazing. Can definitely say the scones we bought and took home, were superb. Thank you ladies for all the good food you provide.

Eating in the restaurant was a pleasant experience on a Sunday afternoon, people were having Sunday lunch but a full menu was also available. Opting for a pie and lasagne was a good choice as these were delicious and very filling, worth the price. The second visit we took pie and jacket potatoes to go which were also good and again reasonably priced. Only downside is that they do not allow dogs inside which is disappointing as it's a nice area to walk the dog in.

Chap behind counter looked at us funny and seemed unfriendly. They should take some of the bad stuff off the menu so that people cant make the mistake of ordering it.Looked like they had some nice cakes etc at the counter but i did not try them as i felt i had been conned out of £6.99 for a chicken burger worth 25p

This place has a lovely "olde worde" feel to it, but much as I've tried I'm afraid I find the food mediochre. Had a potentially great pie a while ago but the filling was far too tough. We said that is fine we would like a cup of tea and a scone if that is ok.The lady replied have a seat anywhere. The table we choose to sat at was not clean. Crumbs and sugar on the table. Our order was taken and we received a hot cup of tea and a scone. We did not bother to ask to have the table cleaned. There was another table near the entries with two ladies and a couple of kids. They seem to be more important to the person serving us as the conversations never stopped between them. Not once did anyone come to our table and asked if everything was ok.The scones was eatable but not fresh. We did not complain.

First impressions are that the cafe is a bit twee with dated decor and plastic tablecloths but there are some interesting old pictures of the town and old artefacts on display. We had lunch on arrival in wolsingham and called back later for tea before we set off for home. The food was mostly good, I had the fish & chips, fish was just a frozen oven fillet but the chips were home made and freshly cooked, very good and a large portion, my wife had ham, eggs and chips, the ham was very good and again large portion, she took home enough for a couple of sandwiches. We also had cappuccinos and these were very good. The tea later came in large enough pots for a couple of cups, we had bought cakes from the bakery earlier and had these with the tea, they were very good.Prices were very reasonable and the service very friendly.

The prices were good so I'm not sure how much I would complain about the experience but I wouldn't recommend this particular tearoom beyond a pot of tea. We were hoping for afternoon tea when we came but unfortunately they had run out of scones at lunch time. I had said we were here for scones when we were seated but they didn't mention running out until the rest of our party had ordered other food to pass the time. The lunches that were eaten were good sized portions and tasty although I would describe the style as homely and basic. I ordered a milkshake which was a big mistake as the product was not actually a milk shake but a bottle of flavoured powdered milk drink a bit like a Yazoo but an imitation brand. I should have guessed from the establishment that they would not actually have milkshakes but they shouldn't advertise misleadingly. The interior was comfortable if dated and the staff were friendly. An enquiry into the cream tea which was not available revealed it would actually have been a pre prepared scone with whipped cream and jam already on it rather than the properly presented cream tea where you prepare it yourself and have clotted cream.
